I agree, but what i meant was, just because AVZ is now delisted, they wouldnt want to be tardy with official information to their long suffering share holders . We dont want to sit in a echo chamber for long periods of time, we need to be informed of any progress or not, in a reasonable time frame.Beisha,
Nigel is not going to announce anything in my opinion unless its signed sealed a delivered. He is going to err on the side of caution I would suspect.
If he started to make announcements like a chat forum then you would have a reason to complain.

SilentOne
That's what he has to say even if there had been approaches. Notification to shareholders of a potential takeover only has to be done when there is a certain seriousness and confidence level of it actually being undertaken, as well as what could be deemed near fair value.I asked nigel at the last AGM about whether AVZ had received any TO offers, he replied.......NO
Fair point. That's what he has to say even if there had been approaches. Notification to shareholders of a potential takeover only has to be done when there is a certain seriousness and confidence level of it actually being undertaken, as well as what could be deemed near fair value.
Any board member saying yes to that question would be very foolish.
I vaguely remember Nigel mentioning at an AGM he had been approached but it was not worth considering . Which is fair enough. That's what he has to say even if there had been approaches. Notification to shareholders of a potential takeover only has to be done when there is a certain seriousness and confidence level of it actually being undertaken, as well as what could be deemed near fair value.
Any board member saying yes to that question would be very foolish.
IT will be the instant coffee and Lipton teabags next.Apparently they are now bringing a cut lunch to work each day and the subscription to Mining Monthly has been cancelled .
Pretty sure if you read the last announcement you will see AVZ have committed to complying with all "official announcement" protocols in order to allow a smooth transition back into the ASX if the situation should arise.I agree, but what i meant was, just because AVZ is now delisted, they wouldnt want to be tardy with official information to their long suffering share holders . We dont want to sit in a echo chamber for long periods of time, we need to be informed of any progress or not, in a reasonable time frame.
Plus bonuses. They have cut wages considerably ; basically all the board went into sleeper mode with regards to salary payments 6-8 weeks ago ; it’s actually only Ben and NF who are drawing full wage fwiw
Plus bonuses.![]()
My view of the BOD hasn't changed.Cue @geo_au for a reminder of the quality of our BoD
Hey bud we all feel your pain as we are going through the same shit…Done losing sleep over this. You’ve all been magnificent. Love to all of you especially those who bought in over 80c. I’m out. Thanks for all the info. Good and bad. Sincerely. R

Response to Africa Intelligence Article
HONG KONG, May 20, 2024 - (ACN Newswire) - Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd. (2899.HK; 601899:SH; "Zijin Mining" or "The Company") provides the following response to the recent article published in Africa Intelligence titled "Zijin Mining pays $70m to mysterious Congolese NGO".
Zijin Mining believes the insinuations of impropriety or wrongdoing in the article titled "Zijin Mining pays $70m to mysterious Congolese NGO" are categorically false, misleading, and unfounded.
The Company did not make a donation to the NGO, Le Bouclier. The contribution was made by Manono Lithium, in which Jinxiang Lithium, a subsidiary of Zijin Mining, controls a 61% ownership, as disclosed by the Company on October 24, 2023. The donation ceremony was also held publicly with media in attendance, and press coverage of the event was subsequently published.
The NGO in question was thoroughly vetted and recommended by the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Ministry of Public Health, Hygiene and Prevention, independent of external influence and/or Jean-David E’ngazi’s appointment to Cominiere. The decision was based on humanitarian considerations and there is no basis for referring to the NGO as "mysterious".
The article also fails to accurately represent the comprehensive scope of our partnership with the local community and our dedication to corporate social responsibility. Zijin Mining stands by the integrity of its actions and remains steadfast in its commitment to ethical business practices.
Regarding the specific details of the fund transfer to the NGO outlined in the article, the Company will be launching an inquiry into the allocation and disbursement of funds by the NGO, to ensure transparency, accountability, and the sustainable development of the region.
The article also misrepresents the findings of the IGF report in relation to the 15% share purchase from Cominiere in 2021, made by Jin Cheng Mining, another subsidiary of Zijin Mining. Neither Zijin Mining or any of its subsidiaries made any payment to Focus Plaidoirie in relation to the above said transaction. Jin Cheng Mining conducted the required due diligence on the seller (Cominiere) and the asset.
As a globally responsible mining company, Zijin Mining affirms that it has diligently complied with all legal and regulatory requirements throughout the processes outlined in the article.
