BRN Discussion Ongoing

Hi
So the Article was from October 2020. Now, as we know, Mercedes is using Akida in the newest "Hey Mercedes" and it 5 time more efficient then their old technology. One would drawn the inference that's: Samsung is also knowledge of thats information. And if Samsung is known to the capabilities of Akida, what will Samsung do, or are doing with. Time will tell. But my opinion are of fruitful outcome for Brainchip. (JMHO)

(According to a Samsung press release, the Daimler AG-owned German carmaker has partnered with Samsung to turn its newest luxury cars - starting with the S-Class in 2021 - into full-blown smart home controllers. With a Mercedes-Benz S-Class car that supports Samsung SmartThings, you'll be able to control most of your smart home devices through the automaker's own voice assistant, MBUX.

"'Hey Mercedes' is about to get a whole lot smarter as it joins the world's largest IoT ecosystem," Samsung announced. The company said you'll be able to turn off lights, lock your doors, adjust the thermostat, set your security system, and close the garage door - all from your S-Class car.
Keep in mind, at CES in January, Samsung first revealed it wanted to make the SmartThings app work with "most new cars” in the US.)

Its great to be a shareholder.
Hi Learning
Great post and very compelling proposition but can I add weight to your proposition by pointing out that Mercedes did not say AKIDA was five times more efficient than their “old” technology it was much broader than that:

“ the technology makes the “Hey, Mercedes” voice control system in the EQXX five to ten times more efficient than conventional voice control”

Mercedes is saying it is five times to 10 times more efficient than the convention in this space which would include any offering from Samsung and others.

We all know that Snapdragon uses watts of power and that AKIDA does not know what to do with half a watt of power. If you gave AKIDA half a watt it would probably feed most of it back to the grid.

Samsung could not ignore AKIDA in this Mercedes created environment.

My opinion only DYOR

Thanks S69
Really enjoyed listening to SH , he is articulate, seemingly very well versed with the BRN tech, and beaming with enthusiasm.
Also, had never seen Tony Dawe in a interview before, he spoke really well, and his excitment was infectious also.
Again, thnx, ............ and to @Slymeat for the questions. 👍
Yes to every point you make.

My favourite part at a personal level:

Sean was asked about what worried him or kept him awake. His answer put simply in my own words was failing to do his job of getting the word out well enough and taking full advantage of the lead. The technology there are no worries. Sean Hehir is clearly a man driven by a need to succeed.

As a thing to watch out for the marketing campaign being developed by Jerome Nadel that will be launched second half of this year will be interesting. Sean seemed excited about what was to happen????

Sean, as usual, was great in his presentation. Here are some notes that jumped at me:

Heavily engaged with a communications company - they don’t build chips, but may buy our IP and have chips built on their behalf.

We have the best kept secret. Next quarter we will begin to see moves on getting the word out in a loud and impactful way.

Watch the financials instead of waiting for BRN to talk about products. (Confidentiality!)

PCI boards: low 100s sold. Not our business model.

EAPs…virtually all still actively engaged.

7-8 years we will become the standard in edge Ai.

Not worried about financials. 19million in the bank.

My favorite…we will exit this year with around 100 head count…good scale and size to tackle the market…revenue growth will begin to outgrow expense growth. Sean and The Board have a line of sight to cash flow break even!

Let’s GO!

Great post and very accurate however I think it is important to point out that the $19 million was stated by the interviewer who took that number from the financials of the company before the most recent LDA Capital call.

So two things the $19 million is US dollars so Aussie investors need to convert to understand its value.

The second is you have to add approximately $15 million less the commission which I think brought it back to $13.8 million for the LDA Capital call. (See the last 4C)

This is why Sean Hehir was so confident about Brainchip’s cash position.

If you have had the time to listen to Sean Hehir’s presentation then fresh in your memory should be the understanding that AKIDA technology is unique in the market place and it has ahead of all the world commercially mastered SNN computing.

With this in mind and probably another rocky day on the markets read the following and if you have time the whole paper from Valeo in 2019:

Exploring Deep Spiking Neural Networks for Automated Driving Applications

Neural networks have become the standard model for various computer vision tasks in automated driving including semantic segmentation, moving object detection, depth estimation, visual odometry, etc. The main flavors of neural networks which are used commonly are convolutional (CNN) and recurrent (RNN). In spite of rapid progress in embedded processors, power consumption and cost is still a bottleneck. Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) are gradually progressing to achieve low-power event-driven hardware architecture which has a potential for high efficiency. In this paper, we explore the role of deep spiking neural networks (SNN) for automated driving applications. We provide an overview of progress on SNN and argue how it can be a good fit for automated driving applications

In the words of the former CEO Mr. Dinardo it is “not if but when”.

In my opinion the answer to uncertain times is found in the science, the known facts and logic.

Tony says
Tony " total addressable market for edge Ai devices are estimated to be 60 billion within 3 years so in terms of market share you don't need to get a big chunk of that total addressable market to start to see REAL REVENUE in the order of billions of dollars we will seek to grab ad much market share as we can while we are first in the market and while we are the first and only producer of Neuromorphic Ai chips "

Just watched Sean's presentation. How awesome was that!
The Mercedes video shows how amazing using akida will be.
More funds came through last night....sigh!
Looks like more shares for me. AGAIN!
I just still can't believe where the share price is with all that is coming up! DYOR

Sean never lets any at all slip when it comes to customers we are working with so when he says we are close to signing a license with a major telco in my opinion it’s pretty much a done deal and they have given him permission to talk about it.
All my opinion stay tuned.

Bravo

If ARM was an arm, BRN would be its biceps💪!
I have been thinking about the above post and the quote attributed to Mercedes Benz:

“Mercedes acknowledges that while neuromorphic computing is still in its infancy, it says similar systems will be available in a variety of consumer products within a few years”

Unless Mercedes Benz is the one using AKIDA technology in consumer products how can it possibly know this?

One answer might be that Brainchip disclosed to them the other EAP customers using the AKIDA technology in breach of the NDA's which seems entirely out of the question.

The only other plausible answer I can think of is that those who are partnered with Mercedes Benz in bringing the EQXX vehicle to life are definitely working with Brainchip and the knowledge of this became known as part of the EQXX development.

So which of these two possibilities seems the most likely keeping in mind that Brainchip's technology is unique, patent protected and 5 to 10 times more efficient according to Mercedes than any competitor in the Hey Mercedes key word space?

Hi FF,

Mucho palusiblo IMO!

For example, Mercedes revealed that LG Electrics was behind the infotainment screen in the Vision EQXX, so I can't ennvisage any way that the concept car would have come to life without LG, BrainChip and Mercedes working in cahoots so to speak.

That's LG Electrics as in consumer electronics, home and kitchen appliances, smart phones and TV's! Maybe LG let the cat out of the bag on some other consumer products they've been working on with Akida inside?
