Researchers have deciphered the tactic of “concerned gossip.” It appears that women, in particular, use this method for social manipulation.
Gossips are rarely held in high regard, but it seems possible to criticize others without suffering negative consequences oneself. A research team led by Tania Reynolds from the University of New Mexico investigated how this works.
Their findings were published in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology and are based on a series of studies involving over 1,700 participants.”

And don't you think if you combed the internet long enough you could find a study purporting the exact opposite findings.

The expression that comes to mind is lies, damned lies and statistics although case in point is that google ascribes the expression to both Disraeli and Mark Twain.

Unfortunately, in the age of Trump, lies masquerade as truth and vice versa and information/misinformation is so easily generated and disseminated that no two people can agree on the validity and veracity of source material anymore.
Everyone just believes what they want to these days and can back up their desired versions of the truth with a myriad of unverified documents available free and online.
Anyhow, come on BrainChip.
Make us all rich enough to have moats filled with crocodiles and piranha.
