Is that the collaborative agreement, that Mercedes had previously alluded to being announced soon though?..I find this collaboration between Mercedes and Volcano Engine (ByteDance) very interesting.
It says here Mercedes will integrate Volcano Engine’s in-car audio and video app into its intelligent cockpit system and by enhancing the smart cabin system’s network information retrieval capabilities and by "atomizing the cabin, more efficiently invoking various services to further enhance the response speed and execution capability of the voice system".
Obviously the integration of all of these elements; in-car audio, video, Gen AI, NLP, etc will increase the processing power required to operate. IMO this only builds the case for neuromorphic computing due to benefits in terms of increased efficiency and low power consumption..

On August 13th, it was reported that Volcano Engine, the cloud service platform under ByteDance, announced that Mercedes-Benz (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Beijing Volcano Engine Technology Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation memorandum to collaborate and explore in the fields of large models, generative artificial intelligence, and big data.
It was introduced that Mercedes-Benz has previously collaborated with Volcano Engine in the application and development tools for in-car use. In 2023, Mercedes-Benz will integrate Volcano Engine’s in-car audio and video app, Volcano Car Entertainment, into its intelligent cockpit system, launching it first in the all-new long wheelbase E-Class. This application aggregates audio and video content from popular platforms such as Douyin, Xigua Video, and Toutiao.
The official statement indicates that Mercedes-Benz and Volcano Engine will continue to expand their collaboration in the future. The collaboration includes the following:
Enhancing the smart cabin system’s network information retrieval capabilities: Based on a vast knowledge base and leveraging the intent understanding and logical reasoning capabilities of large models, make future virtual assistants “smarter and more knowledgeable.”
Improving the reaction speed of the smart cabin system: By atomizing the cabin, more efficiently invoking various services to further enhance the response speed and execution capability of the voice system.
Expanding intelligent application scenarios to bring personalized smart cabin experiences: Extending more usage scenarios in areas such as voice, navigation, entertainment, and information to meet diverse customer needs while providing a smarter, more convenient, and more personalized smart cabin experience.
Increasing the R&D speed of the smart cabin: Against the backdrop of the Mercedes-Benz China R&D team continuously enhancing “China Speed,” both parties will continue to advance cooperation in developing plugins and toolchains.

Give it another 4 years !! wow that’s a stretch. I am of the belief we will see integration into at least one large group in first quarter of 2025 if not before.
The ground work / foundations Sean has put in place over the past couple of years is exactly what BRN needed to infiltrate these big companies and with Tenns now in place there isn’t any reason for further delay imo.

Mercedes-Benz Group announced a massive investment plan on Wednesday to enrich its portfolio of locally made vehicles in China, its largest market in the world.
Together with its Chinese partners, it is planning to spend over 14 billion yuan ($1.97 billion) to introduce a number of vehicles based on new architectures.
Statistics show that Mercedes-Benz and its local partners invested over 100 billion yuan in China from 2014 to 2023.
The new move comes as local Chinese NEV startups threaten to steal the limelight and allure away customers from global premium marques including Mercedes.
The German carmaker said it will start a new chapter in China from 2025, led by the local production of the all-new long-wheelbase electric CLA and an all-new long-wheelbase derivative of the GLE SUV, as well as an all-new luxury electric van model based on the VAN.EA architecture.
The long-wheelbase electric CLA, tailored for Chinese car buyers, will be built based on the Mercedes Modular Architecture, whose new technologies were teased in the Concept CLA Class last year.
The Mercedes-Benz Operating System, which is developed in-house, will debut alongside the premiere of all-new models based on the MMA platform in 2025.
Among other things, it features a new virtual assistant that uses generative AI and advanced 3D graphics, and the first HD-mapless point-to-point urban intelligent driving system among premium brands.
The new long-wheelbase GLE SUV is for the first time developed by the local R&D team, including China-exclusive rear seat comfort and leading intelligent technology, said the German carmaker.
Analysts said chances are fat for traditional premium carmakers to win customers back gradually as long as they can offer smart cutting-edge functions seen in Chinese brands, based on those global brands' reputation earned by their strict and proven standards in terms of manufacturing and quality control.

Yes. I'm really chuffed they have seen the light on software. As I've said before, BRN were in software years ago with Brainchip Studio. It's the fastest way to market. More maintenance, but ongoing income. There are one or two quite successful software compaies about if you look for them.
