BRN Discussion Ongoing

Life is not a dress rehearsal!
Good morning gents and ladies. I am holidaying in Bali at the moment so was watching US TV sadly. An intertidal was conduits about the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and its effects on start ups etc. They were describing it as a catastrophe and a black Swan event particularly for small start ups in particular. This should not affect Brainchip as we have the LDA moonrise but it may affect some of our partnerships maybe. Has anyone heard about this? My knowledge of the financial side is as great as my technical knowledge of stuff. Three fifths of five eighths of not a lot.
Thanks guys.

The DDoS is always my first thought when sites are down. Well not always but sometimes I think a competing site might get pissed at the rise of popularity here.
Such an epic place we have here. We truly are lucky we have a bloke like zee who had the skills and desire to create this joint. I'll be holding some easy competitions for membership subscriptions next week to show my support.
It's a sign from above. Share price will go up to $404 dollars on Monday..🤣🤣🤣🤣

Will not affect Prophesee as they raised $50 million just prior to Christmas.

Nviso raised not long ago as well.

Emotion3D is a going concern.

Biotome specialises in Government Grants.

Tata, Intel, ARM, SiFive, Edge Impulse, Renesas, MegaChips, Socionext will probably be OK.

All the DARPA, NASA connections being defence specialists will have no issues.

As for the speculative connections well we specialise in Fortune 500 and household named companies like Samsung, LG, Google, Apple etc so they will likely be there tomorrow.

The 100’s of one trick startups trying to jump on the Ai Edge band wagon will likely collapse only to rise again when the next technology ‘black’ rises by which time Brainchip will have covered the globe.

My opinion only DYOR

Thanks FF. Thought we would be OK but the term 'black swan event' made my antennae twitch.

Speaking of losses RFTA, does anyone know where BRN keeps it's money, I hope that it is not the SVB = Silicon Valley Bank, there are serious losses going down there, which has been feeding into recent bearish sentiment on Wall St.

Even Yellen has spoken on the subject trying to calm down the fear of wider problems with US Banks.

Does anyone know where BRN is keeping its cash ???

Just so I don’t upset the apple cart I will not provide the reference other than say that anyone who read @FrederickSchack ‘s post and mine before things went pear shape will know where this information comes from:

1. In the various articles from EETimes and others performance figures were given for Prophesee’s vision sensor running with AKIDA and it has now been revealed this was for use in “road vehicles.”.

2. If like me you wondered about the costing for AKIDA 2nd generation then wonder no more it is about $10.00 as opposed to $1,000 plus for a GPU.

The source of these facts is an interview with Brainchip’s Nandan Nayampally, Chief Marketing Officer at BrainChip and formerly a VP at Arm,

Enjoy.

Hi FF,
What particularly grabbed my attention in that interview with Nandan, was a reference to porting information from a clients source product to the Akida platform.
This is the terminology used when they were deciding that Prophesee and Akida were a marriage made in heaven.
Quote from BRN.
“We’ve successfully ported the data from Prophesee’s neuromorphic-based camera sensor to process inference on Akida with impressive performance,” said Anil Mankar, Co-Founder and CDO of BrainChip. “This combination of intelligent vision sensors with Akida’s ability to process data with unparalleled efficiency, precision and economy of energy at the point of acquisition truly advances state-of-the-art AI enablement and offers manufacturers a ready-to-implement solution.”

I am suggesting this was an early trial of the Akida 2.0.

This would suit the timeline of development, and thorough testing, of our new Mind Boggling Akida 2.0.

There is a book my son gave me and I am part through reading “The Black Swan, The Impact of the Highly Improbable by Nassim Nicholas Taleb”.

It is an extension of my “unknown, unknown” theory. I am only in about a quarter of the way but he makes out a compelling case that Black Swan Events can create incredible opportunities.

Apparently the Black Swan use came from English explorers discovering black swans in Australia an event that no one had even contemplated because all swans until then were white. An unknown unknown.

So actually the original discovery of a black swan was not a disaster but a fabulous revelation.

If as is being predicted startups fall over in droves because there only reason for being was an idea and free money then this can only be a benefit to companies like Brainchip who are the real deal and cashed up with product to sell. Being the last hardwood tree left standing after a cyclone allows you to standout and be highly valued for what you are now that all the rubbish has been cleared away.

Too early to say what other positives might flow but one I would speculate on is an abundance of talented young engineers and sales people looking for employment with a dynamic science fiction producing company.

On the flip side attempts at poaching of Brainchip staff will likely die away.

We will no doubt see more as this unfolds.

The Black Swan Event is not something to fear but it is an Event to exploit.

If anyone reads this book you might think as I do that the release of AKIDA 2nd generation is a Black Swan Event of greater magnitude than the failure of Silicon Valley Bank.

I like this paragraph, how many companies throughout the world currently have that capability I wonder?

"To accomplish its goals, DRF uses edge computing, a system where data is handled, processed, and stored locally – at the “edge” of the network – rather than being sent to a cloud or a data center. This reduces the delays associated with transmitting large sets of data and allows for faster decision-making in time-sensitive situations."

My personal level of confidence in our company has just gone up a number of notches over the last few weeks, everyone on this site knows my passion for Brainchip over the last 8 (almost years)....but it's now gone even higher, below is just another classic quote from a recent article, it sums things up beautifully.

"It’s impossible to list all the applications for which Akida could be used. In the case of industrial, obvious apps are robotics, predictive maintenance, and manufacturing management. When it comes to automotive, there’s real-time sensing and the in-cabin experience. In the case of health and wellness, we have vital signs monitoring and prediction; also, sensory augmentation. There are also smart home and smart city applications like security, surveillance, personalization, and proactive maintenance. And all of these are just scratching the surface of what is possible."

Love Brainchip Tech 💖💘

I was thinking the very same thing. Even if the start-up's are not directly impacted by SVB's demise, they will soon find most investors are more cautious and it's much harder for them to raise funds.

We may well see a large amount of patents come up for sale, some of which could interest Brainchip 🤔

Nandan Nayampally likes Qualcomm's Stable Diffusion as well.

If Qualcomm was a competitor I don't think Anil & Nandan would be liking the articles about Stable Diffusion.
