Also I contacted the CEO of Prophesee, asked him a question about the partnership with Synsense and if it’s still going or if Brainchip had succeeded Synsense with akida, this was his response, take note, at the bottom of the response he said

“More To Come Soon :)

Hi Lex55
There has been some criticism of how ARM works in terms of maximising its revenue but the first real differentiator to Brainchip is that Brainchip owns the IP to the AKIDA Neural fabric and as such unlike ARM that has multiple different companies even Brainchip's IP it does not have to share the royalties from AKIDA.

ARM will however have to pass on royalties to Brainchip. So the average return of 10 cents a chip even when the primary IP is belongs to someone else is not bad though as I said some commentators think that is low and could be improved. Nvidia certainly did.

The ARM revenue model is therefore not the Brainchip revenue model the only similarity between the two is that ARM like Brainchip is fabless.

Now you could argue that ARM is less risky in its approach as it is not dependent on one IP to take on the world as Brainchip does but if the AKIDA IP is revolutionary, best in class and 3 years ahead of the next competitor and in the right space at the right time the extra risk is significantly diminished and the profit margin is as the former CEO Mr. Dinardo stated in the order of 97%.

On the question of how much will be received as a royalty is an open question and the best we have on this is in the first Pitt Street Research Report from last year and it is worth revisiting.

My opinion only DYOR
FF

AKIDA BALLISTA

PS: If you take 1% of the 200 billion automotive semiconductor market by 2040, 1% of the edge 71 billion market by 2025 and 1% of the 188 billion medical market I think that this adds up to more than 2.7 billion and Brainchip does not share as ARM does.
Just another for your addressable market list.

Image Sensor Market size was valued at USD 16.26 Billion in 2020 and is projected to reach USD 34.11 Billion by 2028, growing at a CAGR of 9.80% from 2021 to 2028.

Key Players

Sony
Samsung
On Semi
Omnivision

With Sony and Samsung controlling approx 51% and 26% respectively.

1% = $341 Million USD or $488 Million AUD

I’m off to holiday in Africa for a few weeks tomorrow. Please don’t be to many pages on this forum for me to catch up on and may the share price be at least $1.50 when I get back.
I think you put the decimal in the wrong place 👌😆

BrainChip announces year-end achievements and product updates

BrainChip Holdings discusses its top 2019 achievements and updates in its recent year-end update. Top accomplishments include release of Akida intellectual property for licensing to ASIC suppliers, the development of a neural network converter for CNN to event-based CNN and native SNN translation, and an agreement with Socionext, formerly known as the Fujitsu Semiconductor business, for Akida development and manufacturing.

In November 2019, BrainChip was granted a U.S. patent for its dynamic neural networks which are a valuable feature of its Akida AI processing chip used to power biometric and AI applications on devices at the network edge. Unlike other solutions, Akida does not need a host processor, external memory and a math accelerator device. It will be available in a Flip-Chip Ball Grid Array (FCBGA324) that is 15mm x 15mm.

In 2019, the Akida logic and layout designs have been finalized. In January 2020, Design-for-Test (DFT) will also be finalized and wafer fabrication will start at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC). During this process, BrainChip will finalize test programs and hardware.

The Akida IP was available for sale as a license in mid-2019, targeting applications in vision and acoustic systems with a direct OEM sales presence. Suppliers include Bosch, Valeo, Continental, SONY, On Semi and Omnivision. BrainChip is working on establishing an IP ecosystem. It is already working in Europe with T2M, and in discussion with partners in Japan, China and Israel. As a high number of AI Edge applications originate in China, BrainChip applied for an export license for the sale of IP into China.

The third quarter in 2019 was completed with US$9.5M in cash, the company reports.

BrainChip entered a convertible securities agreement with CST Capital in June to raise US$2.85 million, after which it announced an entitlement offering which raised A$10.7 million (US$7.44 million).

In March, the company found itself in a legal conflict over the implementation of biometric facial recognition system Aegis from SN Technologies by the Lockport school district in New York state. BrainChip provided facial recognition technology for Aegis. Later in April, BrainChip’s artificial intelligence technology was used in Las Vegas casinos for automated tracking of dealer actions.

In October, Brain Chip released “The Linley Group Microprocessor Report Highlights BrainChip’s Akida™ Spiking Neural Network Processor,” which discusses Akida applications.

In December, BrainChip partnered with TaTa Consultancy Services to showcase at the Neural Information Processing Systems conference in Vancouver its gesture recognition technology using DVS spiking input on the Akida Neuromorphic Technology Platform.

Future goals for 2020 include Akida Intellectual Property licensing, opening two Innovation Centers in 2020 – one in Western Australia and one in Shanghai.
Thanks for the memories TechGirl,

'It is already working in Europe with T2M, and in discussion with partners in Japan, China and Israel.'

So, does any one know what's happen to T2M ip.
Its a private semiconductor solution company, can't find much about it. Is Brainchip still working with them?

Something doesn't make sense about the huge trading after close on Friday,Surely with all these huge trading days shorters balancing their books look like left hand selling to right or has someone been building up a huge holding,be interesting to see a real top twenty holding. Then virtually nothin today a lot of 1 trades going through.

Doesn't he remind you of one of those people, that you thought were a little crazy and you just blew off, only to realise later, that they were right all along?

Maybe, we need to fossick through the tailings, of his previous ramblings, to see if there's any more, passed over gems? 🤔..

Sorry MC 😛

Basically the MegaChips IP deal, could cover everything, in theory.

They have always been secretive about their customers (Japanese companies, don't have the same disclosure rules).
With Nintendo, being the only one publicly known.

If you watch the recent MegaChips podcast.

They are expanding into the US, basically on the back of AKIDA IP and Quadric (complimentary to AKIDA) targeting the Edge markets.

So I think, new customers wanting to conceal a competitive edge, using AKIDA, could now be dealing through MegaChips.

In other words, MegaChips, could be greatly expanding their business and clientele, purely from licencing AKIDA IP.

So while Sean Hehir said, that what's actually going on may not be clear and to "watch the financials".

It might be a good idea, to keep a close eye on MegaChips financials as well 😉

So,....if I understand your post properly, what you are saying is that only Megachips should be showing as the tip of the iceberg. Would that be another way to graphically present what you wrote? dippY

TheFunkMachine

seeds have the potential to become trees.
I was under the impression that with the rebalancing into asx 200 there would be a certain amount of buying by institutions that leagally had to take place on the date of inclusion. That was supposed to be today, yet Volume is @ about 16 mill.

We had a lot of big buys come in on Friday after market or at closing, is that all we should expect from that or is there something I’m missing in regards to this rebalance?

Anyone feel like helping me understand this?:)
