Chris Jones left brainchip

I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Senior Product Manager at Google leading GTM strategy and core developer improvements for OpenXLA, an open source ML compiler for PyTorch, Tensorflow, and JAX.

Wtf is going on, founders retiring at the end of the year, ANOTHER key staff member gone.......?

Getting a little tired of the secrecy.

Very true and his reply to Steve Thorne I really enjoyed working together over the last year. You've been a wonderful influence on Brainchip's culture and I hope our paths cross again.
So far how many left Brainchip. Its intriguing

Sp suppression, key staff leaving, founders retiring, smells like takeover

With all our engagements and everything we have going on i can't see what else it could possibly be.

Both intriguing and concerning, we deserve answers.

I have stayed away off this site due to its bias, but anyone here that seriously think there will be an announcement prior to Christmas on the iword of who is running this company Is delirious. Why would anyone sell shares in their company if they knew in the next 4 weeks that a deal would fall. Hehir has constantly strung shareholders along and continues to do it.You all had your chance to vote him out last AGM but no like lemmings you followed his words, Remember them IMMINENT…… what have we got FKN not a word since. Lemmings that what I called you bunch.IWork for one of the largest worldwide companies and today I had to resort to send a email to one of our General Managers as they were looking at integrating AI into our company. I forwarded him Brainchips website link In the hope of achieving something. It only takes 200 signatures from shareholders to instigate a extraordinary AGM. If Christmas hits and nothing announced.I suggest as a shareholder you must think TIME TO GO HEHIR. You missed your chance last AGM don’t make the same mistake. Don’t wait till there is no money left in the bank account get rid of them.

You have obviously not done your research.

If you don't like how Sean is progressing, then there is nothing stopping you from selling mate.
Do us a favour and continue to stay away.
I believe Sean was right in saying that DEALS AND REVENUES ARE IMMINENT.
This will likely be from the start of 2025, which we are all very excited about.

Not advice & do your own research.

If I was very negative about any stock I hold I would sell. Why would you hold a stock you thought was a loser?
The crapper is very negative because it suits posters' agenda's. Most negatives want a better entry for a trade profit so they downramp.
Here there are more long term holders with a positive outlook. Positive = beliefs.
I am positive because I think BRN is all about what is to come rather than why isn't it here now or it's taking to long.

After reading this and taking your advice I just brought another 28000 shares. But I did buy them at 0.25 🥲

I don't think Brainchip could outbid Google in a headhunting contest.

I get that part dio, but it doesn't make it any less concerning considering the amount of staff we have bled over the past 2 years with minimal commercial progress (that we know of)

Personally I don’t come on here to be in an echo chamber. And telling people to sell there shares if they are shitty with the company is bullshit in my opinion. Just my opinion though.

I find it hard to believe that anybody could be 100% positive about how things have gone down the last 3 years.

What’s Sean says and what happens are two very different things. In one of his old interviews with stocks down under he said that it takes partners up to a year to evaluate the product and make a decision. Akida 2.0 (Sean’s baby) has been out for over 2 years with no deals made. This to me is concerning. We are not told why nobody is buying it but we are told at the AGM in 2024 that hopefully we get a couple deals by the end of the year. We have got nothing and told now maybe the start of 2025.

I’m hopeful that this product is what the tech world wants and needs. We all think here that’s it’s needed but apparently nobody wants to buy it. Yet….

Loads of key personal have left and no contracts are being signed that’s a fact!

New Akida products are being released to lots of fanfare and amazing reviews. That’s also a fact.

Also a fact is that the only Akida products everybody seems to use is Akida 1000. The version that Sean slagged off in his first AGM.

There is my rant for the month. And no won’t sell my shares lol

Cheers
Euks

I don’t understand why some people think that leaving a company always has to be a bad thing. There are many cases where leaving actually has more positive effects. There must be reasons for it here as well. Perhaps they mutually agreed that he would leave due to insufficient involvement in the company’s operations…maybe he can’t stand the pressure to bring results in a startup…or maybe he wants to pursue other challenges that BrainChip doesn’t offer… or possibly a better salary package at Google? Who knows…or hey… maybe it’s a strategic move for implementing akida into Google… Maybe he can build some goodwill for BrainChip there and even get them to consider testing Akida, etc.

There are so many possibilities and reasons, yet people immediately focus on the worst-case scenario. 🙄 Let’s hope this doesn’t turn into a crapper forum here

The eco system Sean has put together allows products to be designed without shareholders knowing due to NDA. Companies like ARM, Megachip, Renesas, Intel Edge Impulse,Prophesse. ext, all have NDA that would allow their customers to run tests, design ext without shareholders knowledge until products are ready to hit the market, we won’t know what’s going on..I can’t see why we won’t be successful in 2025 with all that is going on behind closed doors.

Its very close now as Sean stated…2025 will be Brainchips year.

Adobe announces development of SLM that can run locally on a phone with no cloud connection

by Bob Yirka , Tech Xplore

app

A small team of AI researchers at Adobe Inc., working with a colleague from Auburn University and another from Georgia Tech, has developed a small language model (SLM) that they claim can be run locally on a smart phone with no access to the cloud. The group has written a paper describing their new app, which they call SlimLM, and have posted it to the arXiv preprint server.

As LLM technology continues to mature, researchers across the globe continue to find new ways to improve it. In this new effort, the research team has found a way to cut the cord for a specific type of AI application—processing documents locally.
As LLMs such as ChatGPT become more popular, users have become more worried about privacy. And it is not just individuals—companies large and small have adopted AI applications that assist with a variety of business processes, some of which require a high degree of privacy.
The reason LLMs are not private right now is some of their work and a lot of their storage is on cloud devices, which can be hacked. The obvious solution, people in the field have been noting, is to cut the cord and run small language models (SLMs) locally with no need for the cloud, so that privacy worries can be solved.
Some of the biggest players in the field have been working toward that end—Google, Apple and Meta have all developed apps that can be run without accessing the cloud. But none so far are being used in the real world. That is where SlimLM differs, at least according to the team. They plan to make the app available to users "soon."
The researchers acknowledge that the reason their product can be used locally is because of its specificity—it is not a chatbot, or a general use tool. Instead, it can be used for specific document tasks, such as creating a summary or answering topical questions. That means the app was trained only on document processing, which reduces the number of parameters—the smallest version currently runs with just 125 million. It also means it has far less work to do on the smartphone.
The researchers suggest their app also represents a move toward more localized AI applications and a much higher degree of privacy for all types of applications.

Holding onto what I've got

I feel some shareholders are worried their investment is all for nothing. Management has pushed back the time line on more than one occasion hence the scepticism, and rightful so. I am not discrediting Sean as understandably we're the ones opening a new AI edge space, there is no pathway set out yet, so Sean has estimated from what worked roughly on the past , customers do not want to have a flop so I am going to assume if the Akida looks to good to be true obviously we are tested harder and longer by x customers first and foremost....just part of the consequences of being the leader, IMO.

Or maybe its poor leadership leading to poor culture! Why else would Chris mention this in his post!

Any sign of Sean wishing Chris or anyone else that left well ?
