This is a Samsung patent application for the translation system:

US2023197059A1 ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF 20211015

View attachment 53930
[0084] The memory may store a neural network model operating as a first encoder and a neural network model operating as a first decoder, i.e., at least two neural network models.

[0127] The neural network machine translation model may be a model learned based on a parallel corpus. The parallel corpus may be a corpus configured in parallel such that sentences of different languages correspond to each other. The neural network machine translation model may be learned based on a plurality of sentences included in the parallel corpus for translating the first text in the first language into the second text in the second language.

[0146] Each of the artificial intelligence models may be implemented as, for example, convolutional neural network (CNN), deep neural network (DNN), recurrent neural network (RNN), restricted Boltzmann machine (RBM), deep belief network (DBN), bidirectional recurrent deep neural network (BRDNN) and deep Q-networks, but is not limited to the example described above
.

No mention of spikes.

Interesting that on this link it says that the "This feature is expected to work locally on the device, which should improve with latency and privacy"

https://www.businesstoday.in/techno...-change-smartphones-forever-412361-2024-01-09

There is going to be an announcement on 17th of Jan at Galaxy unpacked either way..."We are evolving and pioneering mobile technology through a special collaboration with a long-standing tech industry partner, which will be revealed soon”

https://news.samsung.com/global/vid...gas-on-spheres-exosphere-before-unpacked-2024

There cant be too many companies in the running for this surely?
Then we only have a week to wait.

Music that reacts to the way you drive – that’s MBUX SOUND DRIVE from Mercedes-AMG in collaboration with entrepreneur will.i.am.

At CES 2024, we unveiled how we are using digital innovation to bring a smile to our customers’ faces. Creative artist and brand ambassador of Mercedes-AMG will.i.am has used his skills as a record producer to develop a new kind of interactive in-car music experience. It basically turns the car into a virtual musical instrument with the driver in control of how their music sounds.

The technology connects the car hardware with the music software through precise ‘in-car signals’ that enable the music to react to driving characteristics in real-time. These pre-determined parameters range from acceleration and braking to energy recuperation and steering angle.

It can also sync with other ‘signals’. For instance, the windscreen rain sensors could provide soothing rhythms during bad weather to reduce stress and aid concentration.

The long-term goal with MBUX SOUND DRIVE is to turn the technology into an open music platform. Artists from around the world could create tracks from any genre in a new immersive audio format using MBUX SOUND DRIVE studio software.

Rollout starts mid-2024 for Mercedes-AMG and AMG-Line vehicles equipped with the second-generation MBUX system*. Existing customers can access the MBUX Software Update via an over-the-air (OTA) update using the Update Wizard on their MBUX display or the Mercedes me app after receiving a notification that it is available in their region.

____________
* MBUX Entertainment Software Update (FUP5) is available over-the-air (OTA) for several vehicle models. The availability and scope of the features depend on the respective market, the technical conditions of the vehicle model and the individual configurations and settings in the vehicle.

Just a few tidbits about Infineon..

As a measure of their presence at CES 2024, they are using, I think it's 12 standard booths and 3 large (I actually posted this a few days ago, hoping we would have something to do with them).

"With 16 manufacturing plants and 29 research and development locations in Europe, Asia, and the USA, Infineon is one of the World's top ten semiconductor companies"

"The company was spun-off from Siemens AG in 1999"

Do we also have a defacto partnership/relationship with them?
(Edit - it appears they are completely separate entities now, Siemen's, was a major shareholder, but sold down, early 2000's)

"As of December 2023, Siemens is the second largest German company by market capitalization. As of 2023, the principal divisions of Siemens are Digital Industries, Smart Infrastructure, Mobility, Healthineers, and Financial Services, with Siemens Healthineers and Siemens Mobility operating as independent entities"

I think any "dots" previously made in connection with Siemens, now potentially have a bit more colour (in spite of them now being completely separate companies).

They are certainly a good fit as a customer, but regardless, our partnership with Infineon, is more than enough to be happy about.

Looking forward to seeing more partnerships drop, over the remainder of CES 2024 👍

@buena suerte :-) already posted the above 2024 Outlook by Craig James in mid-December.

Stockhead’s Eddy Sunarto (who has mentioned Brainchip favourably before) picked it up in his latest article. It is worthwhile revisiting the CommSec Chief Economist’s sentiment on promising AI stocks on the ASX:

In the light of CES 2024, the article’s author may want to consider editing it, adding one more sentence: “As for BRN: Just don’t restrict yourself to watching from the sidelines for too long, otherwise you will regret it…” 😊

The article below, only 8 weeks ago, talks about the collaboration between Renesas and OnSemi.
We know about the relationship between Emotion3D and OnSemi.
We now have official acknowledgement of relationships between BrainChip and the trio - Renesas, Emotion3D and OnSemi.

Would it be logical to conclude that BrainChip is integrated into development of various components of their combined automated vehicle systems. Which in turn makes this comment very compelling :

"This latest product combination builds upon a strong portfolio of products between Renesas and onsemi products that have been deployed together in automotive applications for many years and product generations. Today millions of vehicles are on the road using a combination of R-Car Gen2 or Gen3 with onsemi image sensors in applications such as front camera, surround view and driver monitoring systems (DMS)."

7. From the Cloud to the Edge (AI)

7-From-the-cloud-to-the-edge-ai-speaker.jpg

The transition from the cloud to the edge is a defining trend in 2024. The growing importance of Edge AI and the rise of decentralised computing with powerful devices signal a paradigm shift that promises to reshape how we process and leverage data.

With its ability to process data locally on devices, Edge AI is becoming pivotal in 2024. Startups like Edge Impulse enable edge devices to make intelligent real-time decisions, reducing latency, improving privacy, and optimising bandwidth versus cloud reliance. In 2024, expect Edge AI to surge across smart cities, healthcare diagnostics and more. Apple's on-device LLMs milestone also highlights privacy and efficiency commitment. Multiple factors drive Edge AI's rise: the need for instant responsiveness in applications like autonomous vehicles, where reduced latency is critical; efficient bandwidth usage by processing data locally versus transmitting to the cloud; enhanced privacy/security by avoiding external server reliance; and real-time decision capabilities for robotics. Healthcare could also benefit through patient monitoring and data privacy.

Decentralised computing with powerful edge devices will also rise in 2024, with startups like SiFive developing customisable processors. This distributed architecture, where processing is closer to data sources, provides speed, resilience and security benefits. It is well-suited for applications from real-time manufacturing analytics to immersive mobile AR. The shift signifies a new paradigm beyond cloud reliance, with powerful edge devices driving localised intelligence.

In 2024, the journey from the cloud to the edge represents a seismic shift in how we approach data processing and computing. The rise of Edge AI and decentralised computing heralds an era where the capabilities of powerful devices are harnessed to process information closer to where it is generated, unlocking new possibilities and efficiencies in diverse industries. The fusion of intelligent edge devices and decentralised computing is set to redefine the technological landscape, paving the way for a future where data is not just stored and processed but seamlessly integrated into our daily lives in real time.

Hi FF,

I think the author may have misinterpreted (or it's Ai written) the latest change.
She had performance rights converted to ordinary shares.
But yes she still holds these, which is a good sign, we haven't had the ol' change of interest announcement following it to cover tax.
So perhaps the US Defence site is half right.
