BRN Discussion Ongoing

Fascinatingly Intuitive.
Morning Perhaps,

Cheers for that.

Just googling Airbus , ( mentioned in past 🧠 Chip partners ) , would be a very interesting co to be involved with, or should one say , are involved with.

Note , no direct confirmation as yet that I'm aware of but very positive nonetheless, having some one with such credentials liking us.

Regards,
Esq.

This guy is absolutely positive about Brainchip, have a look at his Linkedin posts.
Calm down and take a deep breathe.
Lol calm down? Mate, i simply stated a fact.

Just because he's positive on brn does not mean he knows anymore than you or i regarding what merc is developing.

Or are you living in some strange dimension that makes it mean something more?

Good morning,
yes there are lots of loose ends. Airbus joined the Intel Neuromorphic Research Community (INRC) in 2019. Afaik Mercedes made the first contact with Brainchip at INRC.
Airbus also was part of the Tempo project and the actual Andante consortium for developing neuromorphic technology since 2018. So Airbus isn't new to neuromorphics.
Some of the actual projects of the Defence and Space R&D division, where Thomas Hülsing is working, are very similar to projects at ISL, Intellisense and NASA. This whole complex is maybe worth a deeper research.

Very odd reply, considering one of Mercedes own slogans..

View attachment 52527

Don't wait for Mercedes-Benz AG or a message from Magnus Östberg. ???

Other car manufacturers have long been incorporating neuromorphic computing into new models, as the breathtaking technology significantly increases reliability and enables autonomous driving, all with extremely low power consumption. HUH?🤔

Mercedes uses outdated technology that requires an incredible amount of electricity, converts a very high power loss into heat and therefore requires water cooling. ???

The high power consumption, high power loss and water cooling significantly reduce the range. ???

Mercedes will realize in the coming years that it is using the wrong technology today. ???

Was that a reply from a Mercedes guy?
No car manufacturer is currently using neuromorphic technology, to my knowledge,

Mercedes, being the first, if they do.

The whole reply sounds tongue in cheek negative, cryptically saying, that other car manufacturers, will realise they are wrong and end up following Mercedes lead.

At least that's how I read it..

Seasons Greetings to all 👍
Yeah, does the guy currently work for Mercedes or is he an ex-employee? I wonder if this is a deliberate attempt to mislead - in the lead up to CES and Mercedes and the Virtual Assistant presentation. Why would BRN keep specifying them as early adopters if they are not actually adopting ats? Smells a bit doesn’t it.

The Mercedes Concept CLA already been introduced in September on German IAA.
The CES is just a follow-up and the North America premiere.

Apple Is Exploring Storing Large Language Models (LLMs) On Flash Storage To Seamlessly Bring The Technology To Phones, Laptops

Omar Sohail•Dec 21, 2023 12:43 PM EST16
Apple exploring ways to store LLMs on flash storage
Large Language Models (LLMs) are exceptionally resource-intensive on the CPU and memory, but Apple is said to be experimenting with storing this technology on flash storage, likely to make it easily accessible on multiple devices. However, the technology giant also wishes to make LLMs ubiquitous on its iPhone and Mac lineup and is exploring ways to make this possible.

Storing LLMs on flash memory has been difficult; Apple aims to fix this on machines with limited capacity

Under typical conditions, Large Language Models require AI accelerators and a high DRAM capacity to be stored. As reported by TechPowerUp, Apple is working to bring the same technology, but to devices that sport limited memory capacity. In a newly published paper, Apple has published a paper that aims to bring LLMs to devices with limited memory capacity. iPhones have limited memory too, so Apple researchers have developed a technique that uses flash chips to store the AI model’s data.
Apple’s iPhones and Mac computers, there is a way to bypass this limitation with a technique called Windowing. In this method, the AI model reuses some of the data that it has already processed, reducing the requirement for continuous memory fetching and making the entire process faster. The second technique is Row-Column Bundling; data can be grouped more efficiently, allowing the AI model to read data from the flash memory faster and speeding up its ability to understand.

Both techniques and other methods will allow the AI models to run up to twice the size of the iPhone’s available RAM, resulting in up to 5 times increase in speed on standard processors and up to 25 times faster on graphics processors. There is plenty of evidence suggesting that Apple is serious about AI, starting with its own chatbot, which is internally called Apple GPT. Next year’s iPhone 16 is also rumored to feature upgraded microphones, which will be costly for the company but will allow for improved speech input, which will be necessary to enable Siri to carry out a multitude of tasks.

It is also rumored that some form of generative AI will be baked into iOS 18 when it officially arrives next year, so while Apple has been behind the likes of OpenAI, Google, Amazon, and others, that gap might considerably decrease in 2024. Additionally, bringing this technology to iPhones, iPads, and Macs with limited memory could give these devices a unique selling point, but we will have to see how LLMs stored on flash memory perform first.
... and they expect it will be capable of running on a single Tesla powerwall.

So our market cap was about 2 billion and its now 350 million, does that mean apart the free shares etc that would have diluted the price, people have made $1.5 billion one way or another?

Morning Pom down under,

Presume you are referring to shorters?

No is the short answer , but thay have certainly made a monza.

To keep it simple , you will have noticed that the short position has only averaged say 5% Of the floated average of brn shares.

Sooooo.....if thay had all started / taken their shorts out at the peak of our market cap & simply held to pressent , (which thay have not ) these scum dwelling creatures would have captured say 5% Of the market capitol which brn once was, then subtract borrowing fees and then the final buyback price of said shares.

Amazing the damage devients can create by playing with such a small % of shares.

The above example is extremely simplified , as thay open and close positions at will, so gross return would also diminish.

Yet another way some of this lost market capitol at the peak could have been captured , albeit as a crystalised loss to carry foward , is to sell one's shares then purchase more at a lower price.
This technique can seriously grow one's portfolio , but you have to get the timing correct .

Esq.

Oculi is a business name of Fris Inc.

Their patent is derived from a Johns Hopkins Uni patent, to the extent that they have a common identical drawing and they have a common inventor in Charbel Rizk, so this is probably a spin-off from Johns Hopkins.

The Fris patent uses ALUs, and does not mention NNs.

It is a DVS with processing integrated with each pixel, so it is similar to Prophesee in that respect.

Looking for a BrainChip + Oculi reveal at some point. Might be one to watch CES 2024

Oculi, developer of a smart, programmable vision sensor, took home $1 million in follow-on funding and Company of the Year honors as the winner of Luminate’s sixth cohort.

In this presentation, Anil Mankar mentions that they are working directly with Prophesee and Oculi.
41.50 minute mark in the Q&A section.
There has been in the past a little confusion over which Oculi Anil was referring to, given the way he pronounces the name. However in my mind there is little doubt when you see that Prophesee and Oculi are trying to save the same problem, in different ways.

In this video, at the Luminate award night where Oculi are announced the winner and awarded the $1 million dollar prize, the lady announcing the winner pronounces " Oculi " in exactly the same way Anil pronounces the name in the previous video.

GF Supports Next-gen Vision and Computing Technologies

GF is also championing the computing sector, namely with BrainChip's Akida neuromorphic chip built on 22 nm fully depleted silicon-on-insulator (FD-SOI) technology.

BrainChip is the world’s first company to develop ultra-low-power, event-based, neuromorphic AI IP to be used for always-on sensor applications. The AKD1500 chip was built on GF’s low-leakage FD SOI platform, promising an array of applications that don't overload the CPU.

Vision sensor specialist Oculi also recently announced a strategic partnership with GF, commissioning the foundry to manufacture its single-chip, intelligent software-defined vision sensor. The new sensor will be based on GF’s 55LPx, a platform that supports RF, ultra-low power, embedded NVM, and high-voltage BCDLite (a process technology).

Smart vision startup Oculi turns to GF for next chips

Oculi’s SPU chips are based on integrating both per-pixel discrimination, in multiple ways, and the option to capture full-frame images. An Oculi pixel includes digital processing including logic and memory alongside the pixel. The image sensor is more capable than event-based image sensors that have gained recognition in recent years (see Prophesee raises €50 million from China, Saudi Arabia).

USPTO has cited a handfull of prior patents against the Fris application, including a couple of Sony patent documents.

This may raise the possibility that Fris (Oculi) infringes a Sony patent.
