It's still my opinion that the telco could very well be Tesla/Space X.
How are they in any way a telecommunications company???

Yes @Rskiff
I think Teslas Model Pi release might only be 12-18mths away.
Ive been pestering Elon about BRN, ................... :D
With all weve seen from Tesla/Space-X , i think it will be another game changer.

Once one foot in the door with any of Elon Musks enterprises, then boom all the other opportunities with his enterprises open up. Massive!

Efficient and performant as Arm Cortex-M MCUs are, the processing of multiple sensor inputs for AI inference demands compute cycles and power. The Akida neural accelerator off-loads AI inference with improved performance and radically reduced power consumption. Arm’s Cortex-M coupled with BrainChip’s Akida delivers unparalleled system performance.

BrainChip’s Akida IP is fully compatible with Arm’s product families. System-level pre-integration accelerates evaluation and development. BrainChip hardware acceleration supports real-time multi-sensor inference, and frees up the Arm CPU for improved system-level performance and unparalleled efficiency. Use cases requiring integrated inference from multiple sensors exploit the benefits of Akida embedded into the Arm Cortex-M MCU. For example, the sequence of presence detection, person or object identification, keyword spotting, gesture recognition are seamlessly and accurately executed with minimum computation and maximum efficiency. AI enablement integrating sensor inputs improves user experience in homes, in cars, and in the real world… Akida provides cost-effective, high-performance, power-efficient AI processing for edge AI devices - even those in locations where there is limited or no connectivity. As part of the Arm AI Partner Program, BrainChip will enable developers to meet the need for high-performance and ultra-low power edge AI inference, unlocking new opportunities for innovation for best-in-class tools, algorithms, and applications to customers worldwide.

● State of the art performance at μW-mW levels
● Lowest power and memory footprint
● Avoid external memory accesses, reduced bit computation
● Quantization to 1b, 2b, 4-bit
● On-chip learning & device personalization
● Fully scalable architecture
● Runs full network with no CPU dependency Supports CNN & native SNN
● Mature tools suite
● Fully synthesizable RTL

Chippers,

My in laws just signed up as they are going to tour and the speeds are so much better than anything you can get in Australia currently including local nbn, plus the price ain’t much higher, with the initial set up is around $1000. Thinking about moving over to the service myself.

We just looked in to getting it starlink and taking it with us when we move, the hardware purchase price was originally about 1k, it then dropped to $400 and now it is $199.00 for rural customers. No wonder sky muster is in trouble.

Following to your post MD.

I personally think re vist this media release would give us more clues:

In order to serve the diverse and growing IoT market, developers require a new standard of secure, high-performance microcontrollers, combined with endpoint ML capabilities,” said Paul Williamson, SVP and GM, IoT Line of Business at Arm. “The integration of Arm’s highest performance microcontroller with the Akida portfolio enables our partners to deliver on this potential and efficiently handle advanced machine learning workloads.”

This is my personal interpretation:
It's the case of not if but, Arm is intergating Akida into m85 for the growing IoT market. As previously mentioned by Dio that; Akida is a much more superior technology then Arm Helium technology.

Integrating the Akida portfolio (Akida 1.0, soon to be Akida 1500, Akida 2.0) for our partners. I believe this reference refers to Arm customers who will require cortex m85 microcontroller for the growing IoT market. As we all knows, Arm has many customers.

Can't wait for the Arm Tech Talk to find out more.

I think the significance of ARM collaborating with BrainChip is that it will take the pressure off processor makers (well ARM in particular) in their quest for more FLOPS to handle video, voice and other sensor data. Akida can handle CNN and SNN in real-time and the CNN load has been a major user of processor time, power and FLOPS.

It's like using a screwdriver to drive nails in - screwdrivers are great for screws, but Akida is the nail gun.

SiFive, with its RISC-V processor, is an emerging threat to ARM with much of its IP invested in RISC-IV processors. Akida gives ARM the chance to stay competitive, even though SiFive is also likely to adopt Akida. Akida works without processor intervention, so the massive CNN tasks are taken out of the equation by Akida.

Then there's the ARM IPO ...
