How Should Intel Navigate the Coming Storms?

7investing CEO Simon Erickson discusses what the upcoming challenges for Intel will mean for investors in the stock market.
Intel INTC has become one of the world's most iconic businesses, yet it's facing some upcoming storms that won't be easy to navigate.

Even with its commitment to innovation, Intel has fallen behind several of its competitors in chip design in recent years. ARM Holdings, who is currently owned by Softbank but has hinted at going public in the near future, has more than 90% market share when it comes to the architectural design for energy-efficient Smartphone chips. And within the corporate datacenter, computationally-heavy artificial intelligence workloads have led customers to higher-performance processors offered by NVIDIA NVDA and AMD AMD. NVIDIA's A100 GPUs are "AI accelerators" that are able to compute AI code more efficiently in parallel rather than in series. AMD's Epyc CPUs have a fundamentally redesigned architecture that has vastly improved their computing efficiency.

Appears Apples camera CMOS sensor is supplied by Sony.

Now....if we can succeed with Prophesee onto Sony sensors then....who knows hey.

iPhone 14 Pro Max Bom cost exposure: the proportion of parts in the United States has increased significantly, and China has declined – yqqlm
October 8, 2022

Recently, Nikkei Shimbun cooperated with Tokyo research firm Fomalhaut Techno Solutions to dismantle the three models of the iPhone 14 series launched by Apple in September. Models on sale rose by about 20%, setting a new record. In terms of countries/regions, the proportion of US-made parts has made a major leap forward, surpassing the Korean factory, and the proportion of mainland China and Taiwan has shrunk.

The performance of the camera components has also improved, with the main camera CMOS sensor made by Sony Group, the largest of the three rear cameras, 30% larger in size and about 50% more expensive to $15.

Sony’s sensor has a unique layered structure that ensures the area of each pixel through a smaller sensor size, ensures brightness and suppresses noise, you can take high-quality photos.

I just had a daydream of Tim Cook releasing iPhone 15 pro with a brain inside.
.. Smart, efficient and secure just like the human brain

A World Between Frames: Our own Gareth Powell provides a great overview of event-based vision and the Prophesee approach to more efficient #machinevision at VISION. He explains the concept of pixel-level intelligence that enables higher performance, lower power, better #HDR and less data processed by capturing only the changes in scenes.

But again the average punter will have no idea about the megachips release unless they dig, and they shouldn't need to.

Just ask yourself how many Megachip's shareholders are now asking how can they buy into BRN. I guess they will hold until 2025 and longer.
I think it will take a few days for the real impact of the report to be seen in BRN's share price.
Most shorters have no clue about the Megachip report either and their days are seriously numbered.

That’s what put me off fossicking for gold.

If God meant for people to find gold nuggets they would be washed and laid out neatly on top of the ground.

This digging and panning caper is for mugs. I mean whoever heard of anyone getting rich digging for gold.

And the idea you have to go to remote locations looking as well I mean it should be in backyards and parks near to shops, transport and medical treatment.

While I understand what you mean @Xhosa12345 the reality is that it is the people who do the hard yards themselves who become wealthy.

The hardest lesson to learn in life is that every type of success requires hard work and personal sacrifice.

Expecting others even the CEO of the company you are invested in to second guess constantly what a shareholder does not know from the public record freely available to all to find and read is just not going to happen regardless of who is the CEO.

MegaChips is an announced IP customer and a cursory search of their website explains the depth of the MegaChip Brainchip commercial relationship.

The Acting CEO Peter van der Made is on record in the Pitt Street Research interview before he stepped down as saying the market was yet to understand the significance of the relationship.

The Half Yearly Report of Brainchip shows significantly greater income from MegaChips being locked in than previously stated.

The CEO of MegaChips is on record praising the Brainchip technology and stating that they will likely move to producing COTS AKIDA chips for the less sophisticated customers who do not want to customise and produce their own chips.

Quite frankly while it was great to see the documents from MegaChips there was nothing there that was not already know from multiple other sources at least by me.

The thing about being a successful investor in shares is it is a job like any other and people have to work at it 9 to 5 at least 5 days a week.

Otherwise you are just gambling pure and simple.

My opinion only DYOR

I guess the difference that FF is pointing out here though is that some choose to justify their completely valid expression of impatience to it being entirely the companies fault, with no acknowledgement of their own personal active role in this situation.

ARTIKEL TEILEN

LONDON, Nov. 2, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- ECARX, a global mobility tech company, will see its next-generation digital head unit (DHU) reach European motorists with the continued roll-out of the new smart #1, expected to begin customer deliveries from end of 2022.

smart #1 Digital Head Unit by ECARX
smart #1 Digital Head Unit by ECARX

The ECARX-developed digital head unit, running a smart and ECARX co-developed operating system known as smart OS, gives users a more customisable and intuitive experience while exemplifying the smart brand spirit. Based on a design concept set by Mercedes-Benz, the DHU introduces smart's first ever in-car virtual assistant in the form of a digital fox avatar and an 'Inspiring Planet' design concept as a central feature. The co-developed operating system provides a smooth, efficient, and enjoyable Human Machine Interface (HMI) that includes multi-context speech recognition and the ability to download and access a range of global apps.

Delivering a seamless customer experience, the central touchscreen controls vehicle functions and the infotainment system while also controlling a range of driving and user comfort modes. Shortcut icons give quick access to most frequently used vehicle functions and media can be controlled from the home screen at any time via a dynamic widget. Displays are maximised through a split-screen design allowing for a simultaneous view of both the navigation route and media controls, and a pop-up screen with camera view will be activated in certain driving scenarios.
The smart #1 digital cockpit uses next-generation Snapdragon® Cockpit Platforms from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. As key components of the Snapdragon® Digital Chassis™ solutions, the next-generation Snapdragon Cockpit Platforms are designed to transform in-vehicle experiences, supporting higher levels of computing intelligence needed for advanced capabilities featured in next generation vehicles. This includes highly intuitive artificial-intelligence (AI) experiences for in-car virtual assistance, cutting-edge technologies for immersive audio and rich visual experiences, natural interactions between the vehicle and driver, and contextual safety use cases for drivers and passengers. With over-the-air (OTA) capabilities, the system can continuously be improved throughout the lifetime of the car.
Unlike some traditional OEM-supplier relationship, where the suppliers are brought in to fulfil a specification, smart and ECARX worked together from the initial product development phase of the smart #1 in 2019, with each party contributing their own experience and expertise to co-develop a fully integrated digital system.
Commenting, ECARX Chairman and CEO, Ziyu Shen said: "Millions of users in different regions are already enjoying ECARX-developed digital cockpit solutions but we are especially excited to roll-out our latest generation Digital Head Unit in the smart #1 for customers in Europe. Co-developed with smart and based on Mercedes-Benz's design direction, we've jointly delivered a smooth, efficient and enjoyable user experience that embodies the smart brand, on a system that can run global apps and content. Built on a next generation Snapdragon Cockpit Platform, combined with ECARX's self-developed software stack, it is one of the most advanced platforms currently available."
Dirk Adelmann, CEO smart Europe, said: "We are very happy with the solution we've created together with ECARX for the smart #1. This is the first smart vehicle that is benefitting from the expertise in tailor made software and hardware integration that ECARX brings into our partnership. We are looking forward to the possibilities opening up for our future products and ultimately for our customers."

Yep, get that.

Unfortunately, we're all human and all different and irrational, emotional at times.

We all try to accept that even if someone elses emotion or view goes against our own. Blatant, calculated disrespect and downramping excluded obviously.

Emotions imo usually manifest themselves outwardly when we encounter a catalyst, real or perceived by the individual.

In the impatience cases, usually due to an expectation of some form of semi regular newsflow or updates etc from a listed entity and when that doesn't materialise, for good reason or not, we have our vent.

That is fair for mine and the company should not be placed in a bubble that an emotion or question can't be communicated on the forum either with justification or purely through the mechanics of a vent to then be reconciled as I suggested.

someone, I unfortunately don't know who it was, asked us why we're happy here, although the Brainchip price has really crashed extremely, since that time I've topped up 20,000 for myself, even though I'm really extremely negative at the moment, white I don't know why myself, BUT I can wait because I know WHY
