Tesla Inc. faces a review in Germany over an Autopilot feature, as regulatory scrutiny intensifies into the carmaker’s driver-assistance technology.

Germany’s federal motor vehicle office KBA is investigating Tesla’s automated lane-change function and whether it’s approved for use in Europe, Bild am Sonntag newspaper reported on Sunday, citing a spokesman for the agency.

The KBA is also in contact with the Netherlands’ vehicle agency, which is responsible for approving Tesla cars in Europe, according to Bild.

Increased regulatory scrutiny is posing a risk to Tesla’s commercialization of automated-vehicle technology. Last week, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened its second probe into a possible Autopilot defect. The electric-car maker has drawn criticism over issues including how it branded the systems and whether it does enough to safeguard against inattentiveness and misuse.

The latest development in Germany adds to the regulatory hurdles Tesla is facing in the country. Progress at its first European factory, in a site near Berlin, has been slower than expected amid a backlash from environmental groups concerned about water use and wildlife.

Tesla and KBA weren’t immediately available for comment outside normal business hours.

I am no fanboy for Putin whatsoever, but he has completely outmanoeuvered the West, who have basically abandoned Ukraine anyway.

I do not believe (will be quite surprised) anyone will be sending troops into Eastern Ukraine where there has been a war for years between Russian separatists and Ukrainian loyalists, but large sectors of Eastern Ukraine are Russian speakers.

Also agree about the economic and political situation in the West, I have never seen it so dire, and as soon as the Fed begins to raise rates, is when the fun will begin. Look for trouble in Europe, much of which depends on Russian gas for energy.

Putin is sitting on top of piles of fossil fuels, and many other commodities which are in short supply right at the minute, he knows he has the West over a barrel. I despair at the political ineptitude our politicians have dished up.

Oh, and I forgot to mention the parlous state of the corrupt political situation in Ukraine itself, and the fact that the West has given no guarantees Ukraine won't be admitted to EU.....or NATO. I still remember the Cuban missile crisis, when the US pushed back against Russia putting missiles into Cuba. The Russians obviously don't want Western missiles in Ukraine.

A lot of Russian (and German) blood was spilt on the steppes of the Ukraine, millions upon millions.

Mostly I just hope nothing really serious develops, the last thing we need at present (or any time for that matter) is another war.

Sell more arms or give more loans which Ukraine can’t afford either of them? 2014 was a stupid move which caused this conflict amongst Ukrainian’s the media have called them separatists but they are still Ukrainian’s! And those that are in the West of Ukraine aren’t doing any better no bombings just poor!

Being poor is to be powerless and as a young Ukrainian women said in a recent interview “All we have is hope. I am scared. We want to live our lives.”

It is a long article but covers Brainchip’s edge market and why technology investors cannot ignore the Edge.

These two papers together with everything we know about the Early Adopters Mercedes Benz, Valeo, NASA, Vorago and the licensees Renesas and MegaChips is why I can ignore the market’s Russian induced panic.

And here is my own little thought. The turmoil is forcing up the price of oil and gas. This makes ICE vehicles more expensive to run and induces shortages in these fuels. This increases demand for EV’s which assists demand for AKIDA technology.

And putting on my crash hat also increases demand for high quality coal which Australia has in excess. Australia also has gas.

Reminded of that saying about clouds and silver linings.

Try to remember it is in these times that the rich become richer.

These times are what the Warren Buffets of the world build up their cash reserves for not for the times when everyone is sipping cocktails and dancing.

Think rich and be rich.

Think poor and cling to hope.

We all HERE have a choice so consider yourself extremely lucky.

Value the fact that you have this choice and make the most of this opportunity.

Germany best price just before last nights close was AUD$1.28 on one exchange while USA was $1.20 AUD.
Crazy to see the ASX BRN opening is down at $1.17

BRN has Annual Report due on next Monday 28 Feb. Will be an interesting read that one.
Constant Disclosure Rules will possibly mean we will see an Announcement before the release of the Annual Report.

LDA is getting issued those Shares this Friday 25th Feb. That is going to be an interesting time to see what the "average" VWAP for them to pay for those shares is going to be. I think it could be around $1.40 - $1.45 so this will mean LDA are buying all those BRN shares for ABOVE Market price!
LDA get a 90% discount only.
TechLaden posted last night about LDA also. Which direction do you believe the SP will go if LDA are "underwater"?

So except for the Russian Invasion of Ukraine there is some positive news in the pipeline for the next 5 trading days.
