A fatal case of sildenafil citrate (Viagra) overdosage is presented.

The deceased was a 56-year old male found dead at home, with a past history of diabetes mellitus, hypertension, chronic alcoholism, anxio-depressive disorders, and erectile dysfunction.

The main autopsy findings were cardiomegaly (650 g) with dilated cardiomyopathy, diffuse coronary atherosclerosis with no sign of acute ischaemic disease, and extensive fibrosis of the myocardium, especially affecting the cardiac conducting tissue.
As measured by HPLC/MS, sildenafil concentration in post mortem blood (6.27 microg/mL) exceeded at least four times the highest therapeutic levels previously reported.

The results are discussed in the light of the literature about the cardiovascular side effects of sildenafil, with special emphasis on the recently evidenced arrhythmogenic potential of the drug.

This is the first report of a fatality caused by sildenafil overdosage.

President Donald Trump's senior adviser for Africa said on Thursday he spoke with the presidents of Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo about a draft peace deal this week, as Washington seeks to end a decades-long conflict in the region.

The United States is awaiting final feedback due this weekend from Rwanda and Congo on the draft agreement, Massad Boulos told Reuters in an interview in Washington.

The Trump administration, which has sought to strike peace accords in multiple regions and prioritized U.S. access to critical minerals, has been seeking to end the conflict in a region rich in tantalum, gold, cobalt, copper and lithium.

He added that there may still be amendments, but he hopes it can be concluded in coming weeks.

What happened to "Free....." cant remember his full handle, but he was an AVZ holder and big on the crapper and I think he posted here at the start too, was also on Twitter/X....he seemed to vanish from all platforms shortly after our suspension??
