Counter is due to 00 : 00 : 00 : 00 on June 2.

Maybe I should set it to June 3 for us here in the antipodes?

First Kobold, and now RIO...all this public action since the ICC threw Célestin Kibeya (aka Anus) and Cominiere under the bus. The ICSID hearing scheduled for early June 2025, may be the thing that drives King Felix-the-corrupt to finally sit down and do a deal with AVZ.

All this makes me curious about how many other miners may be interested in developing the tenement, but are yet to show their hands.

For starters, since both output and grades are on the decline at Greenbushes, you would think that at a minimum the JV partners Tianqi/IGO and Albermale would have more than a passing interest. There are many other heavyweights of international mining such as SQM, Glencore or even RIO's perennial competitor BHP that may be prepared to wear the sovereign risk.

Regardless of the commodity being mined, these flagship miners demand grade and longevity, and Manono has it in spades.

The clock is ticking for the DRC to come to an arrangement with AVZ Minerals that leads to a mining licence.

Cheers
F

They won’t turn up. A plane, car, alarm, coffee machine, dildo or something will malfunction leading them to ask for an alternate date set months in the future. They experts at kicking the can down the road

Gotta love how AFR deliberately avoided tagging AVZ or mentioning it by name in the headline, just so the article wouldn’t show up in the AVZ Minerals feed when searching ‘AVZ AFR'. The name is also not mentioned above the fold, so it is unlikely when you search AVZ it will be indexed for things like Google News.

Make no mistake, this wasn’t an oversight. Half of readers only skim headlines, meaning many wouldn’t even realise the piece was about AVZ. Again, this was deliberate, only negative story's can mention AVZ by name. It wasn't just Tommy who is a twat at the AFR.

The possible JV with Kobold with Rio as the miner is checkmate for approval by DRC to proceed and award ML to AVZ.
CATH still gets offtake so China does not miss out .
Comminere are the ones to miss out as Kobold has stated they do not want them involved .
What a miracle indeed.if USA gets minerals for security signed off.
IMO Felix would not want his dirty laundry exposed and improves the odds for an AVZ ML to be awarded before going to court.

Another left fielder in the mix now....Rio Tinto...brilliant.
Rio Tinto paid 9.95 Billion AUS $ recently for Arcadium lithium with an annual output of 200 kpta Lithium...

And now there are on the negotiating table with AVZ with a planed output of 700 kpta Lithium in stage 1....thats 3.5 x more than Arcadia. Grades and depth and quality of AVZ's deposit beats Arcadia by far....
Come on RIO, keep that deposit in Australian hands and get you check book out...

Damn, after the drama with Kobold its hard to get excited again.

I think I'll reserve my excitement for when the news articles specifically indicate that someone is negotiating or in discussions with AVZ as opposed to the DRC.

Otherwise I'll just assume its another player trying to fuck us over

Yep so would be pointless for RIO or Kobold to be nutting out a deal if AVZ were not in a strong position . Media reports AVZ issues need to be resolved . Means AVZ are holding the winning ICDIS cards . Kibeya can eat sh1t and die.
