The possible JV with Kobold with Rio as the miner is checkmate for approval by DRC to proceed and award ML to AVZ.
CATH still gets offtake so China does not miss out .
Comminere are the ones to miss out as Kobold has stated they do not want them involved .
What a miracle indeed.if USA gets minerals for security signed off.
IMO Felix would not want his dirty laundry exposed and improves the odds for an AVZ ML to be awarded before going to court.

Another left fielder in the mix now....Rio Tinto...brilliant.
Rio Tinto paid 9.95 Billion AUS $ recently for Arcadium lithium with an annual output of 200 kpta Lithium...

And now there are on the negotiating table with AVZ with a planed output of 700 kpta Lithium in stage 1....thats 3.5 x more than Arcadia. Grades and depth and quality of AVZ's deposit beats Arcadia by far....
Come on RIO, keep that deposit in Australian hands and get you check book out...

Damn, after the drama with Kobold its hard to get excited again.

I think I'll reserve my excitement for when the news articles specifically indicate that someone is negotiating or in discussions with AVZ as opposed to the DRC.

Otherwise I'll just assume its another player trying to fuck us over

Yep so would be pointless for RIO or Kobold to be nutting out a deal if AVZ were not in a strong position . Media reports AVZ issues need to be resolved . Means AVZ are holding the winning ICDIS cards . Kibeya can eat sh1t and die.

Funny that.

The time i have held AVZ, I have

- got married
- went on honeymoon
- had a kid
- kid went to hospital
- had another kid
- family holidays
- reach LSL with my employer
- 6mo went to Hospital (My current 'crisis')

It's like it's synonymous with the important things that happened in my life, and have realised each time that family is important more so than money.

That said - I still want my $50ps.
I’ve had a very similar experience. Look after yourselves it’s not easy at times mate.

Beat me to it.
Nobody wants to be a wet blanket, but this does really have a long way to go.
That said, assuming we win all of the court cases, or maybe some are never heard and we are awarded ML and etc, etc, my oly worry is what compensation we rceive for the North.
I suspect that our new bessies will leave it to Zijin and will have no interest in the outcome.

I think it was @Carlos Danger, if I recall correctly, who a year or so ago set out why AVZ had already lost CDL
NF is adamant that this is not the case, so it will also be interesting to see what our actual legal status is there.

If NF is correct then it will allow him to use RD as leverage for CDL.

Michael J. Kavanagh is a Bloomberg journalist. Michael Bloomberg (the majority owner of Bloomberg News’s parent Bloomberg LP) is an investor in Gates’ Breakthrough Energy, which holds a stake in KoBold, according to the company's website 👇

Here’s an updated link to the Bloomberg article (with embedded links) that’s not behind a paywall 👇

Given Bloomberg’s reputation and links to KoBold, you would have to think they are pushing to get this deal done before the arbitration cases are due, especially given the information @Dazmac66 provided above regarding the signatories to the ICSID

If all that doesn’t incentivise the fat idiot running the DRC to strike a deal before the ICC and ICSID rulings he’s even bigger idiot than any of us realised

Anyway just to add to the speculation, here’s Gates with the fat idiot

In other news, AVZ's DFS assumed an SC6 price of USD 699/t.

Even though the lithium market is in the doldrums, that price assumption is still 15-20% below recent SC6 pricing...
