What a rollercoaster of a week it's been. My first thoughts were to take a TO offer for the whole lot because Zijin will no doubt affect the construction timeline if they "lose" their share.

Then I was of the opinion to fuck Zijin and take this thing to ICC as long as it takes, but as everyone has suggested the MoM may be threatening lose of Dathcom ownership and Felix would have stepped in by now if he is to save the day.

It is looking more and more like there may not be around any of this without Zijin's involvement and the Dathomir claim is hanging around like a bad smell. Dathomir don't want to be involved with the project they just want money and Zijin just want to be involved no matter what so now Nigel needs to make his money.

- AVZ still have "legal title to 75%"
- Comineire sell 10% to Zijin and out of good faith they pay $100M to DRC for it. (Zijin also agree to pay 15% CAPEX).
- Comineire concede the remaining 5% to AVZ out of good faith (AVZ pay $50M)
- Zijin pay $50M to Dathomir as a condition of negotiation.
- All parties close ICC cases and sign conditions to not allow anymore ownership claims.
- AVZ only sell 9% to CATH (with a condition to still pay the $240M upfront but $150M under project payback conditions)

AVZ 71% / CATH 9% / ZIJIN 10% / DRC GOV 10%

No more ownership disputes.
No more concern about losing the northern half of 13359.
No interference from Zijin during construction as it is in their interests to succeed.
Coming in late and replying here b4 reading the rest of the thread so hopefully not going over something repetitively....

I agree to the notion, problem is it doesn't address the Zijin criminal bollocks anywhere near enough appropriately, or Comineire.

Additions:

For Zijin and Comineire they don't get arrested, fraud brought up an charged/tried before court, all charges in relation to the crimes commited around Manono dropped.

-Cominiere sell 10% to Zijin for $100Mil - this gets split 50/50 between Dathcom and Cominiere, (still over 50% more than Cominiere were willing to sell to Zijin for, remember they had two paid 'independent' valuations on it so they can't complain.)

-Zijin to cover their 10% of the project plus DRC 10% and a penalty 5% because their cunts (we can't use that reasoning though:ROFLMAO: so maybe as a penalty for Illegal BS). They are also required to pay 25% for any expansions started within the next 5 years. *Zijin cannot refuse expansions

-Zijin settle with dathomir as penalty (lets face it dathomir will charge zijin peanuts, an fuck dathomir)

The rest I can put a rubber stamp on now if you like (y)

Antoinette N’Samba reassures on the security of mining investments in the DRC

The Minister of Mines, Antoinette N'Samba reassured, Wednesday, February 8, mining operators on the security of their investments in the DRC.

She gave these assurances during a thematic breakfast on the DRC, organized for mining investors on the sidelines of the Indaba international conference in Cape Town.

"The DRC is really the country where you have to invest", assured the Minister of Mines of the DRC during this exchange.

Antoinette Nsamba Kalambayi underlined that securing mining investments is of the utmost concern to the Congolese authorities.

“This security imperative should not be a one-way street.

All those who invest in the DRC must also attach great importance to the well-being of employees and local populations affected by mining activities,” she continued.

Glencore, Kibali Gold, MMG which produces copper thus recalled their investments in the DRC for the year 2021-2022 amounting to several billion USD for the 3 companies combined.

The Ministers of Finance, Industry, SMEs as well as the Governors of Lwalaba, Haut-Lomami and Haut-Katanga also took part in this lunch.

How about this for a wide eyed fantasy. We look at value zinjin took the %15 for and issue all holders more shares based on that value. At %15 for what zinjin paid each current share is equivalent to what 6 shares. So then we’re all even and move forward to mine. No one gets their nose out of joint

Gotta love this bit too.
Someone tell me how you reconcile a statement like with MoM also wanting Zijin to be involved

You can't make this shit up

AVZ....honest, decent Australian company, plays by all the rules, upholds ethics and standards, comes to the DRC with the right intentions for the mutual benefit of all involved, genuine desire to play a role in the betterment of peoples lives and living conditions and opportunites in the DRC, looking to take an anti-corruption stance and ensure transparency and honesty in all dealings

What does AVZ get by playing the straight bat and bringing all this goodwill to the table and providing all the things the DRC says they want from mining investment????

I tell you what AVZ get.....

AVZ gets royally fucked up the arse by the corrupt Chinese players and the absolutely corrupt DRC government

It seriously makes me sick to see read the absolute bullshit that comes out of their mouths when you see the blatant reality of what ACTUALLY fucking happens in country

The world is seriously watching now...

The DRC fuck this one up completely and they will forever be subject to poverty and endemic corruption while being handed crumbs and being horse-whipped at the hands of Chinese masters

But is the world seriously watching Wino? If this does go further south i don't think the DRC is going to be considered any different to now really. Things blow over, new leaderships come into power and things are forgotten. It's a new age - like this one under FT that now appears to be not a great deal different to what came before it. Countries and company's will still deal with DRC whatever happens with this licence. The US will keep pushing for action on corruption and transparency, but it'll be all talk and things will continue as before. China will keep being China and playing their game of control. Lots of talk about moving away from Beijing but haven't seen much of that translate into action. Strategic interests trump moral ones. Personal and political interests trump social conscience. Not saying it will go south BTW, just that I think the potential impact to DRC of this licence being reassigned may not be as consequential or permanent as some have previously said

I just rang AVZ head office and was told the travel movements of the BoD can't be discussed , but if I send an email through it would be forwarded on to the appropriate person . Fair enough I guess . I've sent an email & await a reply .
If it is Graeme , that's a good sign .
