AVZ Discussion 2022

Winenut

Go AVZ!

That point about Nigel being honest and not participating in corruption or bribes should not be lost on us

The fact that AVZ (Nige) played a straight bat at all times and stringently went the course of observing the rules and laws and including the general population and encouraging and developing all the social benefits and committing to training and employing locals and respecting the environment is the EXACT REASON we are in the strong legal, arbitration and negotiating position we are in

Full credit to Nigel and the team.....that's the sort of stuff you admire and respect and makes you proud to be an Australian and an AVZ shareholder

Just remember guys we're supposed to be respectful to the sninvelling, thieving grubs in the DRC who stole our resource and life savings. So it's best to be polite to those filthy, lowlife assholes atm. 🤫
We probably should be nice to the fucking Chinese crooks who stole our tenement too.
I hope management will not rest until until Manono Lithium is decimated off the face of the earth and the hydro facility is back in our hands.
It really would be nice to see some of the DRC criminals involved in our case having some justice served as well.
Nice as this all is atm, when are we going to start seeing some actual justice for the crimes against us?

Anyway at least this one image can warm our hearts in the meantime.

Has it been mentioned before in discussions about the proposed minerals agreement that U.S. companies would gain exclusive access to the DRC's vast mineral resources, or has Joe got it wrong 🤔

https://x.com/Joe__Bassey

Typical African
@Joe__Bassey

The Democratic Republic of Congo has officially started negotiations with the United States for a minerals-for-security deal. Under this proposed agreement, U.S. companies would gain exclusive access to the DRC's vast mineral resources, including cobalt, lithium, and uranium, crucial for global supply chains. In return, the U.S. would provide military assistance to help address the ongoing conflicts with armed groups in the country's eastern regions. Talks are still in the early stages, with both parties carefully evaluating terms that align with their national interests.

The article below mentions “privileged access” to minerals as well as a paragraph stating that the proposal includes the operational control for US companies, “exclusive” extraction and export rights, participation in a deep-water port project and the creation of a joint strategic mineral stockpile. Joe might have used this info for his message on X. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what any final agreement being offered looks like.

DRC proposes exclusive minerals deal to US

A partnership with the US will enable the DRC to diversify its economic alliances and reduce China's influence.

US companies may get operational control, exclusive extraction/export rights, a role in a deep-water port project and a joint mineral stockpile.

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has extended an offer to the US, proposing exclusive access to its critical minerals and infrastructure projects, reported Bloomberg.
In return, the DRC is seeking security assistance to combat a rebellion that is allegedly supported by Rwanda.

In a direct appeal, Congo has requested an urgent meeting between President Felix Tshisekedi and US President Donald Trump.

The proposed pact is expected to grant US companies privileged access to minerals essential for the global energy transition.
The request, conveyed in a letter to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, underscores the DRC’s pressing need for support as it contends with internal conflict.

Congo’s mining sector, a significant source of copper, is currently dominated by Chinese companies.

A partnership with the US will enable Congo to diversify its economic alliances and reduce China’s influence.

The proposal includes operational control for US companies, “exclusive” extraction and export rights, participation in a deep-water port project and the creation of a joint strategic mineral stockpile.

In exchange for these economic opportunities, the US would provide military training, equipment, and direct security assistance including access to military bases to protect strategic resources.

A US-Africa business group advocating for the DRC stated in the letter: “As the world’s largest supplier of cobalt and a major producer of lithium, tantalum and uranium, the DRC’s resources are integral to US industrial competitiveness and national security.”

The US State Department has expressed openness to discussions on potential partnerships in the mining sector. Such collaborations are envisioned to strengthen the economies of both nations.

However, the prospect of a deal remains uncertain. Previous attempts by Joe Biden to engage US companies with the DRC’s mineral wealth faced challenges due to concerns over corruption, environmental harm and labour issues.

Additionally, the US has historically been hesitant to support the DRC’s military, which has faced allegations of human rights violations.

Joshua Walker, programme director for the Congo Research Group at New York University’s Center on International Cooperation, highlighted the complexities of renegotiating mining contracts and the uncertainty surrounding the Trump administration’s capacity to mobilise US investors.

The commitment of the new administration to address Rwandan aggression in the DRC also remains unclear.

The letter, which was disclosed on the Foreign Agents Registration Act website, was sent by lobbyist Aaron Poynton on behalf of Pierre Kanda Kalambayi, chair of the Congolese Senate’s Committee on Defence, Security and Border Protection.

Similar letters were sent to other key US officials, indicating Congo’s pursuit of a minerals-for-security arrangement.
In February 2025, Congo initiated a state monopoly to oversee the production and export of artisanal cobalt.

That Yaseen dude has been on ignore for so long I can't remember doing it.
As far as the bickering comment goes I hope Spike is not offended by my post last night. Wasn't aimed at you mate - love the work you do. Hope to shout you a beer one day!
Dazz.

Not at all Daz and yes, I'll most certainly take you up on that offer. As my wife would attest, I never say no to a free beer..

Love to have it happen sooner rather than later but I'm not holding breath.

Does anyone recall a part article mention of Manono project containing between 1.2 & 3 billion tonnes of lithium ore. Definitely read it but hoping it was part of a company announcement, maybe not. Luv to see a bubble graph with those figures, even half way from 841 Mt = 1.9 bil.
Blows the socks of top 7-8 top producers combined. Just a thought! Don't foget the tin. P

Pedro...the upper estimate when fully drilled out is 1.2 BILLION Mt reported in announcements by AVZ in 2018......

Screenshot 2025-04-06 at 13.20.53.png

I think this was a very conservative exploration target...my guess, fully drilled out, AVZ could reach easily the 2 BILLION Mt measured resource.....and here is why.

That's where we are....
Screenshot 2025-04-06 at 13.41.15.png

And where are the upsides of Manono ?

Lets talk Carriere de Este pegmatite...Zijin must know that the northern part isn't a dud, they did their homework as well { AVZ did as well } The Mica story of Nigel...I take that with a grain of salt in that twisted situation at that time....Carriere de Este might have even a bigger resource than RD. RD is much smaller of size. I am surprised not to see any drilling results of Zijin yet.

Screenshot 2025-04-06 at 13.18.55.png

And there are plenty of undrilled Pegmatites on AVZ's tenements...

AVZ only drilled to the depth of about 250 m, if I remember right...
But the actual depth of the deposit is 615 meter.....thats about 350 m of possible resource on top!

open at depth....I repeat.....OPEN AT DEPTH

And here is my last reason why I believe our actual resource could be in the 2 Billion Mt...

The lakes...which covers a big portion of AVZ's tenement...
Screenshot 2025-04-06 at 13.38.53.png

What will be underneath?...AVZ mentioned earlier they will explore that....but never did.
Historical drilling, before AVZ got Manono, suggests that there is another massive dipping ore body under water. Once Roche Dure is mined, all the water can be drained into the Roche Dure pit and another pegmatite will be on surface....Bingo
Ok...this are all only indicated possibilities...but I reckon you will get the drift.
2 billion Mt Lithium is not out of reach...IMO
And here we are....What is AVZ worth? That's the big Question now,

Love reading this. Always nice to be reminded of why I got into this, and why it's worth holding on for the right outcome.

It does make me feel like whatever deal we end up with would be structured to maintain some sort of exposure to those future benefits, because Nigel for sure is pushing to see full value for the project, not just the measured resource.

Or we push on with CATH and participate and in a battery behemoth that crushes the ex-DRC lithium market and leaves all western auto makers in the dust because they tried to screw AVZ with a tight-arse deal.

US has exempted lithium from Tarifs I believe. They can decide if they want to pay $15B* for the raw materials to drive their vaunted industrial re-revolution, or $100B in tariffs on imported cars and batteries.

Your move Yankees.

Imagine trying to sell a one of a kind car in a private deal saying it's an incredible car and you'll only accept top dollar for it, then simultaneously your co owners are on a worldwide public platform talking smack and saying I cant want to get rid of this thing and get out of this absolute nightmare 😂😂😂🤪
It doesn’t matter, I'd expect top 20 will be calling the shots.
