I wonder if they have an indicative offer in mind already? Or if they tabled it this early it would look like they’ve been in cahoots with government officials and Zijin? Not much else would pique a lot of holders interest then an indicative TO offer I wouldn’t have thought
$16, $16, be quick or it is $20, will be the answer

Don't know whether or you are aware but Zinjin and its subsidaries are owned by the CCP which means a lot of money poured into Zijin by the CCP.
Chinese State-owned Zijin Mining Under International Scrutiny

In a world where business activities are under constant global scrutiny, Zijin Mining, a Chinese state-owned company specializing in gold and lithium mining, stands out as a symbol of persistent concerns about its impact and operating practices in Latin America and beyond, Radio FM Bolivia reported.

Its track record is tainted by allegations of labor exploitation, environmental damage, and safety deficiencies. But beyond its operations, Zijin’s close relationship with the Chinese Communist Party casts an additional shadow over its actions in nations with loose regulations, Argentine news site Infobae reported.

“This is due to the close connection of these companies with the government of Xi Jinping, whose authoritarian leadership seeks to expand them in the Belt and Road initiative,” Luis Fleischman, professor of sociology and political science at Palm Beach State University in Florida, told Diálogo on September 5. “This expansion has a political purpose: to strengthen global Chinese influence in Latin America.”

The state-owned mining giant under the sphere of influence of the Chinese government, acts as the main executor of Beijing’s ambitious strategy to acquire natural resources on a global scale, Infobae reported.

Tres Quebradas

In 2016, Zijin entered Argentina through its subsidiary Liex to develop the Tres Quebradas project in Catamarca, investing $450 million. Until August 2023, about $70 million were disbursed. However, the company faces investigation for allegedly over-invoicing imports of lithium mining machinery, Argentine platform La Política Online (LPO) reported on August 6.

According to Argentine daily Página 12, the Chinese company registered purchases of identical goods at prices much higher than market prices. A triangulation via Hong Kong would have been used, involving more than $5 million.

In November 2022, the Chinese firm’s lithium pilot plant was closed by the mining police of Catamarca, due to anomalies with chemical residues. In addition, according to LPO, workers at the mine salts said to work 12-hour daily for paltry wages. They do not have adequate equipment to handle chemicals and lack access to water for personal hygiene.

“Governments must demand that Chinese companies comply with the law,” said Fleischman. “Now, our hope for protecting the environment and preventing human and strategic mineral exploitation lies in the hands of governments. If they don’t act, problems will arise.”

Fleischman added that countries that place more value on respecting international guidelines, such as the United States, Canada, and Europe, will follow them as is their custom. However, if the governments of the nations where Chinese companies invest do not show interest, international law will not be able to sanction these companies.

Buriticá too

In Buriticá, Antioquia, Colombia, Zijin exploits the largest gold deposits. To obtain Colombian gold, the Chinese government-backed company faces conflict with local miners, and clashes with the Clan del Golfo criminal group, Radio FM Bolivia reported. Added to this are fiscal and environmental problems.

China is pressuring the Colombian government to provide additional protection to Zijin in the midst of this conflict, even suggesting the possibility of withdrawing the company and other investments from the country if its demands are not met, Radio FM Bolivia reported. The Zijin story is a narrative marked by controversy and opacity.

As is often the case in every country with Chinese influence, the ambassador acts as the main defender of Chinese interests and seeks to strengthen its operations through an “army.” Some suggest that Zijin may hire foreign mercenaries to protect its interests, according to Infobae.

“Corruption plays an attractive role for Chinese investors, similar to the power of drug traffickers, by buying the loyalty of politicians or judges while undermining state integrity,” Fleischman said. “Corruption drags down government quality.”

Constant conflict

Chinese companies not only create problems in Latin America, but in other parts of the world as well.

In Serbia, for example, Chinese negligence has affected the village of Bor. The inhabitants are protesting toxic air and water. Zijin manages the large-scale copper smelting and mining complex in that town without permits or official authorization, the Asia Financial newspaper reported.

In 2020, Zijin warned Papua New Guinea that, if its government did not renew the environmental license at the Porgera gold mine, bilateral relations with China would be damaged, Reuters reported. Papua New Guinea refused to extend the mining lease for 20 years, citing environmental damage and social unrest. Following Chinese pressure, on March 31, 2023, the Papuan government signed a new agreement.

Against their people

Chinese companies treat local people similarly to how they treat their own people. Their attitude toward their own citizens is indifferent, and that same attitude is reflected in their treatment internationally. “They don’t see citizens as people, they see them as subjects,” Fleischman said.

In 2018, a copper mine in Zujin, in China’s Fujian province, polluted the Tingjian River with toxic waste, generating an environmental disaster with a profound impact on local communities, investigative journalism platform Dialogo Chino reported.

“The environmental issue is global in scope and concerns everyone. Cooperation is crucial among the nations involved. If this issue continues to be politicized our progress will suffer. If governments view China as a savior or investor of choice, they must recognize that the health of their citizens and the environment are not a priority for China,” Fleischman concluded

Carlos, I’m sure companies have shareholders residential addresses and like with most businesses you are given the option of providing your email.

I suppose there is a cost and speed advantage to contacting shareholders by email but the more important point is the fact that these puppet nominees have already spread disinformation to various media outlets and now they want to do it privately so they can target shareholders who are not on TSE, Twitter etc.

As you pointed out, they have spread disinformation not misinformation (the former being a deliberate attempt to spread information to deceive shareholders and stakeholders).

I imagine AVZ made the point that Fat Tail (MMGA, the Chinese puppets backed by Cong, Jerkoff, Math, Bin Guo etc) have been disseminating deceiving and false information already and provided proof of this.

It just shows how desperate they are to get their hands on the project and how valuable it’s potential is. Once again AVZ has been carrying out legal practices behind the scenes to thwart the corrupt actors mentioned above, plus the others hiding in their flea pits…. Those being boatman, tommy turd burglar, kibeya kabemba and the other slime

I’m looking forward to hearing the outcome from the ICC sometime next week, and in the meantime here is a reminder of my thoughts - responses to the disinformation the puppet nominees were trying to spread….

1) Shareholders are not meeting to appoint three directors. AVZ is having it’s AGM and already have directors (who are fighting corruption and constant disinformation by those mentioned above)

2) The relationship between AVZ and state mining company Cominiere was affected by i) Cominiere not granting AVZ the first right of refusal to buy 15% of Dathcom shares as was agreed to in signed contracts and ii) Cominiere illegally and fraudulently selling 15% of Dathcom shares to Zijin. This sale of shares to Zijin was done at $120 million below the value of the shares, the proceeds of which were also squandered and the undeniable evidence Celestin Kibeya Kabemba took a $2 million dollar bribe in the process.

3) AVZ Minerals raised the funds to develop the project which had no financial effect on Cominiere, as Cominiere were incapable of raising funds.

4) The article states that AVZ stopped work on the ground (when clearly drilling and plant construction continued into 2023).

5) The reason the PR was not transferred into a PE was because the previous DG of CAMI wouldn’t issue the surface rights fee for AVZ to pay them. The fact is that AVZ fulfilled all obligations to receive the PE and was awarded the ministerial decree to issue the PE.

6) Cominiere has put the joint venture in it’s name and claims AVZ has no ownership in the JV project, but the ICC has made it clear that Cominiere cannot do this.

7) The article admits that AVZ was in charge of managing Dathcom and goes on to say that work was done on only a third of the concession. An unbelievably ignorant statement and relates again to the fourth lie (listed above) given AVZ raised capital to carry on drilling and having core samples assayed which in turn produced further results to be added to the original DFS, and is the reason Cominiere and Zijin have embezzled money and tried to steal the project from AVZ.

8) The article then goes on to accuse AVZ of opacity, when AVZ has been open about all it’s capital raises and how the funds were used to pay the agreed contract prices for the shares it purchased in Dathcom.

Couldnt agree more regards to that article about China / Zijin.

China is pressuring the Colombian government to provide additional protection to Zijin in the midst of this conflict, even suggesting the possibility of withdrawing the company and other investments from the country if its demands are not met.

I wonder if that is the case regards to China /Zijin / FT / Kibeya/ Manono.....

Considering DRC is almost completely reliant on chinese investment, that would be a sticky situation , especially in a electoral year but as i said previously about that topic, i am pretty sure " the gringos" and the europeans would be esctatic and more than happy to fill the investing gap and possibly wipe some debts out in order to get a better leveredge with the critical minerals DRC has to offer.

China would be the big loser in the end.........not DRC.

imo

Ok, let’s play nearest the pin on this WA court case AVZ v fuck tail

My thoughts:

Fat tail sought shareholder details INCLUDING email addresses

AVZ said fuck off

Fat Tail went to lower court, and won

AVZ are now appealing re having to supply emails (today

After directions today, it will be pushed to a formal case and might take a while for decision to be bought down, 30 November is a good date for me 😂 AVZ will lose but hey, too late
Just having a thought on this Wa court case AVZ v Fat Tail.....

Why would the AVZ bod give a shit about Fat Tail ( MMGA movement ) if there was indeed a deal in the works with " sustained, constructive dialogue with DRC Govt with respect to the explotation license and the withdrawal of the ICSID proceedings "

Or is it just a matter of hedging your bets ?

imo

I think that irrespective of anything happening with the DRC Govt the BoD must do absolutely everything in their power to hinder and ultimately stop anyone from MMGA from getting on the board of AVZ

Even if we get the ML if any of those slimy MMGA puppets are on the board of AVZ they will continue to agitate and press their agenda

And the agenda of MMGA and the stooges involved is to ensure the Manono Project is sold to their Chinese backers for an absolute pittance in return for massive personal rewards in the nature of M&A fees, commissions, personal payments etc etc

Make no mistake Huljich, Carrick and Ludbrook and the shareholders of Fat Tail Holdings intend to sell current AVZ shareholders down the absolute fucking river in return for massive personal rewards provided by Cong and others

Don't worry ol' Tommy Dickheadson will be on the payroll too (and don't forget Eckhof) for playing their part in what has clearly become a hostile takeover attempt through nefarious, corrupt and ultimately criminal means

It must get the attention of the Australian Government, FIRB, Federal Police, ASIC, ASX etc etc

This is a massively orchestrated hostile attempt to strip current shareholders of their investment in AVZ and sell the project to Chinese interests for next to nothing for the massive personal gain of a few

It is sickening and the filthy bottom feeders noted above that are participating in it for their own massive personal benefit have no moral compass between them and would collectively crawl over broken glass and their dead mother's lifeless body for 5 cents

Me thinks there is absolutely zero trust in anything the DRC government says, they even don't honour their own laws.

Don't forget there only seems to be some movement at the door because the ICSID case slowly comes nearer, like a full Pilbara iron ore train without brakes.

If there are already 6 on the Board, even if all three muppets are voted in and brings total to 9, they would never have a majority on any Board decisions. Doesn’t this reduce or even eliminate the risk of Board selling to Chinese?

If any of them make it onto the Board they will be privy to every single board strategy, activity, piece of information about AVZ and it's dealings and every single piece of that intel will go DIRECTLY back to their masters (make no mistake DIRECTLY back to their masters) who would then formulate further strategies to bring about the ultimate outcomes aligned to their agenda

Any MMGA associate in any capacity on or near the AVZ board is an absolute fucking cancer

Us shareholders would then 249D any MMGA associates on the Board as many times as it takes until they resign. If they don’t, it would go to an EGM for vote each time. Rinse and repeat until they get the message. Pain in the arse yes and costly, but an option.

All risks need to be managed. Until such time as we see the ML written in stone and blood then this and every other matter needs to be treated as an existential threat.

We must to continue to pursue all protective measures, including this action and the ICSID case.
