AVZ Discussion 2022

With the AGM imminent I doubt they are taking the p1ss. Cannot bull sh1t this time . I think that is obvious .
Yes, but I dont think it is a great look considering we have been in suspension for 16 months. Who pays their wages? The shareholders do. Have the shareholders have access to any of their funds? No.
All the shareholders have received from these people who have been paid well and bonus's on top is "we are in discussion with the government". That is a lot of talking but what have we seen no tangible results? No. They should be ashamed that they have given themselves bonus's.

It’s risky behaviour before a contentious AGM with the sharks circling and no definitive path to shareholder wealth creation (besides some craftily worded sentences of course). I have given management a spell this year given what they’re going through but time and time again they remind you how greedy and tone deaf they are.

I can only imagine they're expecting the ML to be granted by the time AGM comes around.

I'm disappointed that the BOD have granted themselves bonuses. The situation hasn't changed since we went in suspension. Hopefully they have something postive to announce and it isn't just a greedy money grab.

Tbh, they should never have gotten the last lot of performance bonuses... they sure as hell wouldn't have hit the kpi had they been undertaking full disclosure to the market...

Could it be justified? Currently shareholder value is zilch, we do not have access to any of our funds. Yet AVZ employees are being paid bonus's for no results (Bonus time frame 22-23 financial year) What happened in this period? Nothing, in fact our decree was cancelled and our CEO walked out on a mining conference. How have these actions contributed to shareholder wealth? I don't know, on the surface they have not.

Well said @obe wan

3 years for me now. Pretty much started investing during covid, this has certainly been a steep learning curve for me.

I can appreciate what the board has been going through, I can understand the need for silence, but I can understand why some think the bonuses to the BoD would be considered tone deaf.

My overall feeling right now is optimism.

You can just smell the desperation coming from our detractors and it's wonderful

There was a talk/conference from memory in which they were due to present but bailed because something had cropped up that day.

Can't remember when and which conference now but pretty sure it did happen.

One of those surprises that have been popping up every so often.

I cant remember the exact dates. I am pretty sure it was in South Africa Jan 23 and he had just been advised that the MoM had just cancelled our decree and thus did not present as he was scheduled to. I even sent AVZ an email to confirm this info as I believed tommy the tit released this info before any announcements.

The bonuses you referred to are similar to progess payments when you have a house built and is ok with me as they have made progress. All will be revealed when the BoD are ready.

PS try to think before you post.

BTW we also pay our politician their wages and don't forget the police, public servants and nurses plus councils.

If we’re using the house build analogy, rather than building a house with the standard inclusions (wages) they’ll be able to have all the luxury fittings (bonuses).
