One thing i know for certain: chinese eyes and ears are in our workplaces, our schools, our sporting clubs, our universities, our workplaces. Their ambition to gather intel and build influence over both society and political decision-makers is limitless, and their resources are vast.
They are certainly involved in mainstream social media, and it’s not just monitoring - it’s active influence by sowing doubt, creating division, and providing mis/disinformation.
Are they here in TSE? No idea, but given the above my assumption is that they are.

If you engage with trolls then they will attempt to control your posting in order to control the thread, and further undermine the quality here.
Ask more questions, demand info', annoy you into responding.
Who knows, they could even start other threads that they believe they can then control and use to distract from here.

BTW Been speaking with someone who has supplied fairly reliable info' over the last 6 months or so.
They've always presaged their comments with how unreliable their info' is. Don't take at face value etc.
It's actually been fairly good, though far from faultless and I feel inaccuracies, as I've said here about other poster's inaccuracies, are because nobody has all of the pieces of the puzzle.
Plus smoke and mirrors.
Anyway, with the usual caveats, they're adamant that it's all done and dusted by late June.
Either way.
