Apologies if this is an outdated response but I'm 3 weeks behind and reading about the sky falling, all because of a simple misunderstanding. When AVZ announced an update on legal proceedings and mentioned Cominiere illegally cancelling the Dathcom Joint Venture Agreement AVZ are referring to Cominiere's sale of 15% of Dathcom. Cominiere ignored the JVA and acted as if it no longer applied. That's all that's being said. It does not say they kicked us off the project. We still own 75%. AVZ are seeking to settle the fact that both AVZ and Cominiere are still bound by the Dathcom JVA and under DRC law that illegal sale is null and void.

But of course the thieving bastards that they are I'm sure Cominiere and the rest of the DRC government will continue to try and steal whatever they can get away with.

Was IGF taking into consideration that Simon thieving King Kong 15% is before the ICC courts .

5% illegally trasferred to MMCS and now Cominiere in the embarrassing position of not being able to transfer the required 10% due to a sweet tooth corrupted few .?
Leaving Cominiere with only 5%.
Surely the FT would have this information and not want the cases to be brought to ICC.
Perhaps and I am hoping that an outcome from MMCS vs Cominiere in favour of Cominiere will lead to a ML Decree by FT

Mate we desperately need someone attending the conference to ask the DRC's MoM some pertinent questions about governance... something along the lines of:

'Minister, you say that the DRC is a mining friendly jurisdiction and is open for business, but how can Australian investors and industries have confidence in its governance and the rule of law when graft, corruption and bribery remain endemic at every level of government, and are just the accepted ways of doing business'
or
'How can Australian investors have confidence in DRC rule of law when the IGF's report on graft and corruption within government agencies remains mostly un-actioned and gathering dust on the president's desk'
or
'How can Australian industry have confidence in the DRC's mining laws when these laws appear to be subverted at every turn by corruption by Chinese companies such as Zijin Mining'
or
'The DRC government aspires to be at the heart of a pan-African hi-tech battery chain. How can this happen when the world's largest single source of high grade lithium remains buried due to government corruption and stone-walling'

Can't give you a timeframe but can say things are on the move which is in our favour. For a start legal issues will need to run its course and that is out of the president's control as he didn't initiate it. I do believe the MoM is sorry for what she did. Anyway I don't feel stressed about the situation and I sleep well at night and expect us to go mining eventually.
