I once heard a story about Coles and how in one of their warehouses the culture was so bad that they shut it down and built a new one on the other side of Melbourne. The reason for this is, they could not sack their workers because of the unions, so they built the new warehouse so far away that the workers would not travel. Problem solved.
I read this morning that the DRC government are starting a new organisation, the Inspector General of Mines (IGM), which will be subordinate to the MoM. I also read today that Jules stated that they underestimated the corruption within government.
My first thoughts were "How do you get rid of the corruption"? Start a new organisation and give it the powers of the other organisation eg. cominiere and cami. Staff it with new trusted employees and the multi layers of corruption are gone.

IF Dathcom JV is terminated, the ownership of Manono would default back to the DRC i think (will check my notes, as i recall having seen something to this affect).

After it defaults to the government it is up to the MoM to reallocate it to a state-owned company, and what do you know, its those fucking snack hungery MFers at Cominiere who get it back.

Well if MoM has just created IGM it would suggest that MoM isn’t crooked ; I’ve always considered her to be on the good side ; however the cancelling of decrees had me thinking twice .

I’d imagine that MoM knows exactly what MoP is up to ; I’d assume she knows what Lukonde is up to ; I’ve heard that he was approached by a number of Chinese asking her to cancel AVZs permits outright .

It’s difficult to be embroiled in corruption when you have just created an inspection general ; as the IGM would have a number of individuals involved , not just MoM by her lonesome.

I assume that decisions coming through IGM would indeed be independent and not focusing on her position …. Suddenly MoP and other crooks such as DG Cami ( whom I’m sure she’s be well aware of his dealings ) any Chinese etc who have been trying to persuade her to turn blind eyes and just kick out AVz … who knows they may have previously offered brown bags ….

These individuals now know they’ve got an inspection general in front of them , whom they’ve most likely already tried to brown bag …. I reckon there wouldn’t have been a few palms hitting faces when that popped out.

Things do seems to be moving ; there’s a smell of desperation out there …. Hitting Felix , MoM with a negitive media shite storm May not be the answer … but obviously that’s up to you guys

It’s pretty clear from the ann that cominiere haven’t followed the terms of the JVA at all ; why does the mining licence need to be paused because of this rubbish ? Let’s say there is a ‘disagreement’ well until Dathcom is deregistered , the application is still under dathcom and processed in that manner ; if proved down the line at icc that cominiere have that right , then cancel it ; until then , it’s still runs..

Cominiere have obviously said that they want to cancel the JVA....( says it below in the snip ) but just like how they’ve gone about ROFR...they don't comply with the terms of the JVA...they would have needed to have gone to ICC and got it nutted out there that they were all above board and able to terminate...they haven't don't this, they’ve just said that's what they’re doing...what they mouth off and what they can do are two separate things.

Parties can't just wake up one morning and say ‘ye nah we’re done, let's go home’ ; there's legal works drawn up in JVs (JVA) which need to be followed. You really think CCK discovered a series of loopholes ; the guy is one of the biggest idiots out there...what most likely happened is that he fired a bullet into the ceiling when his negotiating terms he had tabled weren't going anywhere, told AVZ that he was cancelling the agreement..expected / hoped for a different reaction and AVZ responded with a ‘we’ve had enough of your bullshit and trying to reason, deal with it in icc which will include this and a number of other issues...there will be Nada in the JVA that cominiere could pull the plug on AVZ for as AVZ have been above board...pretty sure the legal could walk anyone through the JVA and show them that Cominiere are clowning around, don't have a leg to stand on and delaying

The only other time I can think of that management have used the word purported so often is in relation to the purported sale of 15% of Dathcom from Cominiere to Zijin.
