AVZ Discussion 2022

Sounds great. How much of that will come to fruition when your own government refuses to follow the rule of law?

Not much.

Until they build trust in their public institutions, build the infrastructure needed to support the local population, and start investing in skills and education, then these advanced manufacturing goals are no chance of being realised.

It’s a vision without a strategy.

That's right they've been talking and talking about this stuff for years.
The place is an international embarrassment, a shameful culture full of greed and stupidity.

This is good stuff MB - can you get it onto Twitter?

edit: it needs an agenda.
1. The Mining Code and why it doesn’t matter.
2. Why your personal or company interest are more important than the rule of law.
3. Snacks: How to get them and where to keep them.
4. Offshore accounts: Making the most of your ill-gotten gains.
5. Louise Vuitton or Gucci? How to please your partner with the fruits of your endeavours.

You get the picture.

Jesus Don't tell me they are going to give Manono to Albemarle now. I wouldn't put it past these corrupt pricks. In all seriousness though all relationships in drc for avz seem to have soured under the weight of the corrupt government. Even the battery council now by the looks of it.

Can somebody remind me how great management are again before I start thinking about how all they managed to achieve over the past 10 months of suspension is to have our licence revoked? Thanks.

What do you mean mate? They must be good look at what they get paid!! And they’ve got time left over to manage consult and invest in AJN! They are not just a bunch of well connected nepo babies with posh accents they are worth their value! Because they called it for what it was nothing but “spirilous claims”. That have not held us for this entire time and attracted the attention of government and required us to go to icc. My 2 year old could do a better job!!

The Americans are in the DRC having discussions with MoM about buying 10 mining projects - hopefully they’ll have a chat with her re supporting the Manono Lithium & Tin project while they have her attention.

DRC: The United States brings 10 mining projects and is working on a possible "secure" cooperation of Congolese minerals

The representative of the United States of America in the mining sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Benjamin SKOLNIK, accompanied by members of his delegation working in the American International Development Agency USAID, spoke with Mining Minister Antoinette N'samba about a possible "secure" cooperation of Congolese minerals.

These were received by the Minister of Mines on Thursday, February 16, 2023 in her working cabinet in Kinshasa, said the communication department of the said ministry.

During these exchanges, ten (10) projects were at the center of their discussions, two of which focused on the exploitation and export of "clean" gold, according to the same source.

"The United States of America is considering the exploitation and exploration of responsible and secure gold, i.e. own gold," explained Benjamin SKOLNIK at the end of these exchanges.

However, the United States expects to support the Congolese mining sector so that everything takes place in traceability on the one hand, and on the other hand, so that American companies undertake to buy gold from the DRC in order to fight against illicit trade in this sector.

The United States stands alongside the DRC to strengthen the capacity of artisanal farmers, promote exploitation and export under conditions that meet international standards in the mining sector in general and the gold field in particular, this American representative in the Congolese mining sector suggested.
