For what it's worth, I used Markus Schafer's comments regarding there being 'a long way to go' for context as it creates the context for Heinrich Gotzig's response "Thanks a lot for this very interesting article. I can confirm that it is a long way to go but very promising."

These comments don't diminish Valeo's progress in commercialising a product containing akida. They simply confirm that current neuromorphic technologies still have a long way to being a 'brain on a chip' that is comparable to the human brain which contains 100 billion neurons operating at 20 watts of power.

Good morning, All

Nice to see my choice of the word "launch" last week, resurfacing again, this despite some Smart Alec poster trying to belittle
my choice of said word.

The "launch" can only happen when the foundry and our founders' processes have been signed off, not a day before.

So, with that being said, I'm quite happy with around June this year, but remember it's just my opinion.

With the Quarterly due out in approximately 6 business days, I'm still not expecting to see much revenue, my gut feeling is Q3 onwards.

Looking forward to hearing of some IP signings, that's the catalyst to truly identifying potential future royalty streams.

Within the job application it asks for a talented software architect to help drive development of Lava, the new open source framework that re-thinks entire software stack for the unique needs of neuromorphic computing.

Showing my complete ignorance here... @Diogenese is this terminology what one would expect Intel to say if they are looking to further the growth of Akida within Intel?

If this is so, then this would be very hot news.

Edit: I am told by someone who knows that BRN does not support or need Lava.

May be our management don't want to light the torch and just want the balance sheet to do the talking.

I think it is organic way of growth too, rather than having these whip lashes around.

I started looking into phones using the first Gen snapdragon and units sold. I stopped as the count was well over 100 million units. This list is just the top selling phones that use snapdragon, not all of them. The mind boggles to what numbers in revenue Brainchip may reach with royalties by the time I retire at aged 55. 2025. My buy at 66c got hit got more at 65 and 60. (just in case). Giddy up.

Rob Telson confirming soon after that is where the Brainchip / Prophesee collaboration is headed.

At the 33:03 mark the bloke states the frame rate is up to 10,000 per second. Can we do this??

I just listened to the whole podcast with Prophesee again. It is fantastic!

Brainchip and Prophesee are complimentray technologies. A bit like in Show me the money movie: “You complete me!”

Hi @Dhm, this slide shows it's measuring events at sub-millisecond time-scale.

It's a bit confusing because at the 36 min mark the presenter talks about the RGB camera operating at 30-60 frames per second and then when it comes to him mentioning what the Prophesee camera can do, it sounds like he is saying it works 10 to100 x faster than the RGB camera, rather than 10,000 times faster???

I think Hybrid is someone that can work remotely (has the option) from the office.

After Covid I'm now a Hybrid where I only go into the office 1-2 days a week, if that!

You need to remember that its Prophesee not Brainchip providing the product. Prophesee can do 10k fps, we might be some of the secret sauce behind the low power and provide some of the heavy lifting for processing etc.

I think the whole point of Prophesee was that it doesn’t operate at FPS. I’m not the most qualified to speak of this but FPS is the old/usual method. Like when you could draw little action pictures on the bottom corner of a book and then flip the pages to create a moving pictures. The faster you would flip the pages increased the FPS. Thats what we did as kids; it was fun!

Prophesee has the shutter constantly open, which allows more light in, whereas to capture fast images you need a faster shutter speed but then less light enters the aperture and it is a darker image. It only acknowledges changes in the image. I think that’s why it’s 1000fps equivalent: because the frame or opening and closing of the shutter doesn’t actually occur.

Brainchip complements that process by also only acknowledging the changes in the image.

Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong with my understanding of this.

Hi Fmf,

I've seen the term "hybrid" in the context of AI used to refer to a mixture of analog (MemRistor [WBT?]) and digital NN, usually with at least the output layer being digital.

Analog is theoretically closer to the way real synapses work than digital, but has problems with repeatability in the manufacturing process.

Were there any more details on what the job entails?
