I'm feeling the love on this post 😂

So good to hear that there was no appeals for the refinery and Talga can get going on construction this quarter!

Hard to predict what will come next - mine approval; additional debt financing; binding offtakes; or a Talnode-Si announcement

Don't think this was a court decision - council approval for permit?
But you're right, there should still be people working there.
Now approve the fking mine permit already!

They can now start finalising all the paper work required for the EIB loan. May take the EIB a couple of months to process it after being submitted however depending on workload and what their process is.

The US DOE loans are approved by Treasury. What the loans office does apart from helping applicants through the process is compile a report for approval. The report contains the financials etc plus outside expert advice on the project itself. Because TLG have conditional approval I'd say that stage has already been approved and as I said before, it's just a case of submitting the final paper work eg permit approvals to finalise the loan.

The entire approvals process floats on a sea of paper.

you need to re-read the announcement. The Swedish Land and Environment Court closed the appeals process for the environmental approval because there were no appeals.

The refinery building permits were granted early in the year with no appeals either. It's full steam ahead.

So @Proga have you taken up an interest yet or are you waiting for the mining approval ?

I think you mentioned over at HC a couple of years ago that you were waiting for significant de-risking before you would consider an investment in TLG

I'm waiting for 2028 and the prospect of mining approvals, plural. TLG's strategic plan out to 2030 is to sell 19.5kt of AAM which another poster quite rightly said last week (my apologies for not going back to get your name) is bugger all in the scheme of things. My guess is, it won't be until sometime in the 2030's after the mine has been operating safely for a few years at full permitted production will TLG get approval to mine more than 120kt of graphite contained dirt. Given the grades and recovery rate, they'll only produce less than 25ktpa of concentrate. To put things into prospective, SYR can produce 360ktpa of concentrate now. The problem is the lack of demand lol. It's a good time not to be a producer.

I'd be surprised if TLG didn't get their first mining approval.

I said to Dio early last week I'm hoping SYR SP bounces so I can buy some more BRN. After some probing and upsetting a few posters late last week, 2 golden nuggets were produced for me which makes me even more desperate. Given the state of the global graphite market, I'm not hopeful. Some Chinese petroleum coke producers for the synthetic market have stopped making it because the prices are so low. It's a by-product which still requires some refining but it isn't worth it anymore

@JNRB I wasn't having a crack at you. I'm done the same thing dozens of times.

All good, was good you pointed out 'court' was in the announcment. Didn't at all take it as you having a crack at me for something.

I'm a lot more optimistic on when we'll scale up. Demand for anode locally and sustainably produce in Europe is different for graphite mined out of Mozambique. And I view Syrahs current lull as calm before the storm.

What were the nuggets that got you excited again on BRN? I only manage to read about 1/4 of what gets posted on that thread.

There are also the other banks and financing parties. If I have interpreted the statement of the EIB correctly then they not only check the documents final but also wait for what the others contribute to the financing. I even imagine a closing of a possible gap, if there should be one in the end. So I imagine that the stamp on paper also depends on the negotiations with others.

Jesse has come to the fore. His hard work and persistence as the verification engineer in LinkedIn and comments on many other websites has paid off. He spotted 2 comments 1 from Valeo saying they'll be using Spiking NN in Scala 3 and another from an employee of Mercedes saying they used Akida in the EQXX and he personally employed an Akida specialist so join the dots. How true these posts are can't be verified but Scala 3 and the new 2024 MB models are both due for release in the next 3 months. MB said they'll release the new tech similar to the EQXX in the small to medium 2024 models because they are generally bought by younger tech savvy generation to get their feedback.

By 2030, Europe's demand for natural AAM should be north of 1mt. I've got no idea how Europe plan to meet their target of no more than 60% of a critical mineral from any 1 country. I agree, they need to allow TLG to scale quicker and get other companies to build AAM plants and source the graphite feed stock for those plants elsewhere if they can't source it internally. SYR plan to have a plant 45kt or greater up and running before 2030.

Talga will train material direct to customers, there they will use Our technology for tal c or si and Anode will be made at the customers factory. Some will blend. Makes more sense imo. No building permit to worry about, no cost of building or planning. Just licence our technology where needed and train the material straight in where the batteries are made. Higher volume I suspect will be a lot easier to achieve this way and as time goes on more people will realise Talga is the only major player capable of scaling up with the customers needs. Don't forget how long we have been providing samples, they ain't going anywhere now. Definitely not back to China!!
