IXR General Discussion 2022

Ever hopeful this along with AVZ provide actual dollars in the bank!

I've got 3M shares currently at break-even, and no intention to top-up. How you boys doing?
A touch over 2M @ break-even… will probably ride this up to 10c to free-carry, then everything else is a bonus! Yes… big risk, but with sensible stops, should make some decent coin over the next few years!

Well as suspected, it's always been a leaky ship stock.
I guess we'll know when the proper funding is coming on the next run out of fucking nowhere.

  • Summary: Application for quotation of securities - IXR

Wonder who was feeding the buyers today?

Funny that 97 million new pieces of IXR confetti get issued at 0.9c the same day we have this “wonderful” news that doesn’t move the SP…

As Frank would say…food for thought!

Sk1nman

So these new shares represent some of the C/N just issued.
obviously these C/N holders will take a profit as issued at $0.009 and sell around $0.017.
half their luck.
We cannot complain, because the C/N raising provided much needed cash at the time.
We all benefit.
If we don't like it, we could have bought more shares on-mkt.

Also, I think a few Option holders have converted a few Options a few days ago?

jake0002

Agree Jake.

The upside is we traded 75 million yesterday, so hopefully most of the 93 million shares have churned through the market and we are getting to the tail end.

It is very common for institutional CR investors to sell the shares and hold onto the options, so I would say that is what will be happening this week.

As for the timing of the announcement, we were at the mercy of the UK government.

APC26 was announced the night before, as highlighted by roblun.

We have no say in it, we must disclose when they do...

Now hurry up UK and grant us some cash...

Smaller volumes driving direction & appears to be shaking the tree - just look at the Buy:Sell depth - nothing to do with IXR business plans, while some are concerned they could be doing better, they appear to be unearthing some great opportunities that in time will bear fruit!

Could they do better?, perhaps we all could if we reflect on business decisions that have been made, yet often when faced with multiple decisions more than one will prove positive in hindsight! made not the best, but still quite valid.

So tail-waggers, traders players rule the roost at present when good sizeable buys ruled this morning!

To remind,

You may be right - the institutions have access to miniscule multiple sells to drip feed out OR in!

What surprises me OR interests me with IXR the buyers appear to be much larger on average than the sellers - the size of some of these buys suggest they have done their homework & are not just punting on IXR's future!?

Plenty of margin for those seeking short-term profits available should sellers feed them!

I'd prefer to weigh the opportunity costs after researching where & what IXR may start to deliver!? Prior to trading.

HiMarkHGO

Not sure how the whole mining market is going today but even the mighty PLS is down 5% today so sh!t can happen to all stocks on an hourly or daily basis.

The underlying direction of the company is UP UP UP IMHO.

It is now a waiting game and that is also not always easy.

I have only been invested for about 5.5 years so another 1 month or 24 months is fine with me.

All the plans are made and the funding is slowly but surely coming through to enable IXR to get into production.

The world cannot wait or rely on MP to gear up their production plus they dont have much in the way of heavy rare earths anyway but IXR certainly does!!

IXR dropped today, but don’t be fooled by the red.

Behind the scenes: big volume, smart money, and a lot of games going on here.

Let’s break down what really happened

Big Moves, Bigger Picture.

Lots of noise today, but zoom in and you’ll see a different story.

Massive buys early on at $0.017 - millions of shares going through CXA (not your average punter).

That’s usually smart money getting set.

Price then walked down into the close, a classic shakeout move.

VWAP still sat around $0.0165+.

Afternoon trades looked like book squaring, even some cross-account stuff (XT flagged)

But here’s the thing - IXR’s not a one-day story.

MAIL tech keeps progressing, there’s movement brewing in the US and Brazil, and rare earths aren’t getting less important anytime soon.

The long-term chart looks strong, 200-day is trending up, and this feels like reloading.

Feels like a game of chess, don’t get bluffed off the board.

Final Thought: Smart money showed its hand early.

Weak hands got tested late. Fundamentals remain strong, and the bigger picture hasn’t changed.

Stay focused blokes....

Food for thought

Cheers

Unlocking the New US Rare Earth Pricing System: Beyond China’s Dominance

Future Demand and Supply Dynamics

The strategic importance of the Pentagon's rare earth initiative becomes even clearer when examining projected growth in global demand against current supply constraints.

Projected Growth in Rare Earth Demand

Global demand for rare earth permanent magnets is expected to more than double by 2035, reaching approximately 607,000 tons annually.

This explosive growth is driven primarily by the rapid expansion of electric vehicle production and renewable energy infrastructure worldwide.

The United States is projected to have the strongest percentage annual growth rate at 17%, significantly outpacing other markets.

This accelerated demand trajectory makes securing stable supply chains even more critical for American economic and defense interests.

Military applications, which often require the highest-grade materials with the strictest performance specifications, continue to necessitate secure supply chains impervious to foreign interference or market manipulation.

Can Supply Meet Growing Demand?

The current price floor of $110 per kilogram falls within the $75-$105 per kilogram range that experts believe necessary to support sustainable production.

However, significant questions remain about the ability to scale production quickly enough to meet projected demand growth.

"Can they scale it up?" asks Dominic Raab, articulating the central challenge facing Western rare earth development.

The gap between current and projected production capacity remains substantial, with few shovel-ready projects outside China.

There's also uncertainty about how non-government backed consumers will respond to higher prices.

While defense contractors can pass costs to government customers, commercial manufacturers face more price-sensitive markets, potentially accelerating research into alternative technologies or material substitution.

The Geopolitical Dimension

The Pentagon's rare earth strategy cannot be viewed in isolation from broader geopolitical tensions between the United States and China. The initiative represents a significant escalation in efforts to reduce critical mineral dependencies on America's primary strategic competitor.

US-China Trade Relations and Rare Earth Politics

Rare earths have become a focal point in ongoing US-China trade negotiations, with China previously suggesting it could use its dominant position as leverage in broader disputes.

China's export restrictions highlighted the vulnerability of US supply chains, serving as a catalyst for the Pentagon's more aggressive approach.

The new pricing system represents the most significant escalation yet in US strategic minerals policy, moving beyond rhetorical commitments to concrete market interventions.

It forms part of a broader effort to reduce critical mineral dependencies on China across multiple technology sectors.

"This is about more than just rare earths," notes a senior defense official. "It's about establishing a model for securing all critical mineral supply chains essential to national security."

Building a Western Rare Earth Supply Chain

Previous attempts at strengthening Western rare earth production were limited to piecemeal deals with premium pricing for specific applications.

The new system creates a comprehensive framework for sustainable pricing across the entire supply chain.

This approach has the potential to encourage investment throughout the entire value chain, from mining to processing to magnet manufacturing.

However, questions remain about the ability to scale production quickly enough to meet near-term defense requirements.

The success of this initiative depends on sustained government commitment and industrial adoption beyond defense applications.

Commercial markets will ultimately determine whether a truly resilient Western supply chain emerges or whether the Pentagon's executive order on critical minerals remains limited to a strategic niche.

"The economics now work," explains Alvaro Castellon of Aclara Resources.

"This creates new strategic paths for producers outside China that simply didn't exist before."

Furthermore, the ongoing mining industry evolution will play a crucial role in determining how quickly Western nations can establish competitive rare earth production capabilities that meet modern environmental and social governance standards.

Apple Announces $500 Million Commitment to Buying American Magnets

Apple today announced a $500 million multi-year commitment to buying American-made rare earth magnets developed by MP Materials, at a state-of-the-art factory in Fort Worth, Texas.

Apple said the commitment is part of its overall pledge to spend more than $500 billion in the U.S. within the next four years, which it announced in February.

Apple and MP Materials will build out the Texas factory with a series of neodymium magnet manufacturing lines specifically designed for Apple products, the company said.

Today, nearly all magnets across Apple devices are made with 100% recycled rare earth elements, including in the Taptic Engine in the iPhone 11 and newer.

The two companies will also work together to build a rare earth recycling line in Mountain Pass, California, according to the announcement.

"American innovation drives everything we do at Apple, and we're proud to deepen our investment in the U.S. economy," said Apple CEO Tim Cook, in a statement.

"Rare earth materials are essential for making advanced technology, and this partnership will help strengthen the supply of these vital materials here in the United States."

Apple said its commitment will support dozens of new U.S. jobs in manufacturing and R&D.
