Just a recap from April:

BrainChip Collaborates with Chelpis-Mirle on Security Solution

Laguna Hills, Calif. – April 28th, 2025 – BrainChip Holdings Ltd (ASX: BRN, OTCQX: BRCHF, ADR: BCHPY), the world’s first commercial producer of ultra-low power, fully digital, event-based, neuromorphic AI, today announced that Chelpis Quantum Corp. has selected its Akida AKD1000 chips to serve as the processor for built-in post-quantum cryptographic security. Chelpis, a chip company leading the Quantum Safe Migration ecosystem in Taiwan, is developing an M.2 card using the AKD1000 that can be inserted into targeted products to support their cryptographic security solutions. The M.2 card is based on a design from BrainChip along with an agreement to purchase a significant number of AKD1000 chips for qualification and deployment. Upon completion of this phase, Chelpis is planning to increase its commitment with additional orders for the AKD1000.

This agreement is the first step in a collaboration that is exploring the development of an AI-PQC robotic chip designed to fulfill both next-generation security and AI computing requirements. This project is a joint development effort with Chelpis partner company Mirle (2464.TW) and has been formally submitted for consideration under Taiwan’s chip innovation program. The funding aims to promote a new system-on-chip (SoC) integrating RISC-V, PQC, and NPU technologies. This SoC will specifically support manufacturing markets that emphasize a Made-in-USA strategy. Mirle plans to build autonomous quadruped robotics that mimic the movement of four-legged animals for industrial/factory environments. To enable this vision, Chelpis is exploring BrainChip’s advanced Akida™ IP to incorporate advanced visual GenAI capabilities in the proposed SoC design.

“The ability to add Edge AI security capabilities to our industrial robotics project that provides the low power data processing required is paramount to successfully achieving market validation in the robotics sector,” said Ming Chih, CEO of Chelpis. “We believe that BrainChip’s Akida is just the solution that we further need to bring our SoC to fruition. Their event-based processing and advanced models serve as a strong foundation for developing a platform for manufacturing customers looking to leverage advanced robotics in their facilities.”

“Akida’s ability to efficiently provide cyber-security acceleration with energy efficiency can help secure autonomous robotic devices,” said Sean Hehir, CEO of BrainChip.

“Akida’s innovative approach to supporting LLMs and GenAI algorithms could serve as a key contributor to Chelpis as they pursue government funding to develop their SoC and advance their industrial robotic initiatives.”

The Renesas RA8P1 does not use neuromorphic technology in the sense of spiking neural networks (SNN) or neuromorphic chips. Instead, the RA8P1 is based on a classic digital approach to AI acceleration... because it's using a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU)—specifically, the Arm Ethos-U55 NPU.

The Ethos-U55 is designed specifically to accelerate common machine learning operations such as those found in convolutional and recurrent neural networks, providing significant energy efficiency and performance improvements for ML inference in area- and power-constrained environments.

And yes, it uses also an Arm Cortex-M85 processor with Helium MVE.

Renesas' documentation and product descriptions explicitly mention AI performance, NPU, and classic AI models, but not neuromorphic approaches such as those used by BrainChip (Akida) or other SNN-based systems.

Bravo's BrainChip Community Update: Still No Announcement… But Here's 300 Words That Sound REALLY IMPORTANT

Fellow Aki-dakians, Neuromorphic Noobs, and Edge Enthusiasts,

We interrupt this regularly scheduled period of complete and utter boredom to bring you… another non-update.

Yes, the ASX remains tragically announcement-free. But don’t be fooled - beneath this tranquil facade lies a veritable cacophony of untethered synaptic activity. Somewhere, deep within a bunker protected by quantum-hardened encryption and at least one espresso machine, a team of engineers is currently adjusting a spiking temporal module and running recursive TENN topologies through a pseudo-stochastic inference grid.

What does it all mean?

Nothing.
We still can’t tell you.
NDAs thicker than a plank of prettified wood.

However, rest assured that at this very moment:
  • An ultra low-power Akida SoC is classifying dust particles using event-based micro-Doppler signatures.
  • Someone, hopefully one of our staff members, is feeding radar chirps into a latency-pruned, TENNs-optimized, biologically plausible digitally anodised, neuronal array to connect onto some poor unsuspecting person's cortical column.
  • And a squirrel may or may not be running a keyword detection model on a single microwatt run off a truss tomato.
Meanwhile, corporate remains in a hyper-inference pre-commercialization phase of the prove-it-silently-then-scale-it-later pipeline (patent pending).

So, the news is - there is still no news - not a brass razoo's worth of it to be found anywhere.

But oh, the potential theoretical news that could one day emerge! It gives me tingles up and down my axon hillock just thinking about it!

Stay strong. Stay speculative.

And remember: in the world of edge AI,
"Sometimes the quietest chips make the loudest impact."

Yours in low-power optimism,
Bravo on behalf of the powers that be.

Raytheon's in the money!💰💰💰

Another juicy defense contract - this time for next-gen GPS receivers. I wonder if our technology could be helpful in this type of GPS-integrated defense system???

It wouldn't replace or power the GPS receiver itself but, presumably it could process the data the GPS module helps generate, or help improve situational awareness or navigation in GPS-denied/jammed environments. For example, a drone that loses GPS due to jamming could rely on Akida to interpret IMU or radar signals for continued navigation.

GPS is typically embedded into broader systems like missiles, UAVs, guided vehicles that also use radar and motion sensing. Receivers are often embedded into handheld soldier equipment, loitering munitions, recon UAVs and satellites & rovers. All of these platforms are size, weight, and power-constrained (SWaP).

Let’s be honest - if Raytheon’s got a cool $77 million lying around, surely they can spare a few bucks for another one of our licenses. 😝

🎭 “Something’s Coming” – The BrainChip Musical (Investor’s Cut) 🎭

Tony: (spotlight on, hopeful gaze)
🎶 Could be… who knows?
There’s something due… any day now!
It could cannonball from the sky…
Or maybe just… quietly die? 🎶

Investor Choir: (soft jazz hands, mild despair)

🎵 We’ve been waiting here,
Since the LinkedIn post appeared…
Tony teased a dream,
But the chart’s still flat, we fear… 🎵

IR Team: (whispering backstage)
“Shhh! Not material… not just yet…
Patience, folks… no need to fret…”

Tony: (arms wide, dramatic pause)
🎶 Could it be? Yes it could!
Something’s coming… if it would…
We should stay… tuned…
To absolutely… nothing new. 🎶

Would like to add the original positive spin on it though lol

I got a feeling there's a miracle due,
Gonna come true,
Coming to me! 🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼

Could it be? Yes, it could.
Something's coming, something good,
If I can wait!
Something's coming, I don't know what it is,
But it is
Gonna be great!🚀
