If some want to debate salaries paid to CEO’s then it should first be understood that Brainchip is an ASX listed company with a registered office in Sydney but for all commercial purposes it is a US based company competing in the US market.
Accordingly taking an Australian puff piece aimed at popular outrage is NOT the best way to look for evidence based research regarding CEO salaries in the USA.
The following academic work from the USA is a starting point as it debunks the populist opinion that US CEO’s are on average over paid despite the initial raw numbers:

3. The Level and Structure of Pay for US and Non-US CEOs
3.1 The US pay premium
The summary statistics in Table 1 suggest that US CEOs receive about double the pay of their foreign counterparts, but this calculation does not control for industry and especially firm size, documented to be an important determinant of the level of executive compensation (Baker, Jensen and Murphy (1988), Kostiuk (1990) and Murphy (1999)). In addition to industry and firm size, we consider four groups of potential controls: firm characteristics empirically known to affect the level of CEO pay based on prior evidence in US studies; ownership characteristics known to be systematically different in US versus non-US firms; board characteristics also systematically different in US versus non-US firms; and individual CEO characteristics. Detailed descriptions and data sources for these variables are included in Appendix A, and summary statistics by country are provided in Appendix B. We winsorize some firm-level variables (leverage, Tobin’s Q, and stock return volatility) at the 1% level.”
The point being if you want to legitimately make out a case that Sean Hehir is over paid then you need to bring evidence based on his location in the USA running a USA centric company with global reach in the technology industry.
You should also have regard to the fact that the technology industry globally rightly or wrongly not just in the USA attracts a salary premium.

Hamilton, to be fair, Brainchip was not at fault with the casino deal falling over. All was proceeding well until the company we were dealing with was taken over by a bigger player who had other systems in place. That is what killed the deal.
