There is a FINAL point I want to make about this presentation. The CEO Sean Hehir was asked a question and he answered that question with one three letter WORD and that WORD was:

“YES.”

He did not say anything else just this one SINGLE WORD.

What was the question?

Why did this answer make me smile?

I am sure someone amongst the 1,000 Eyes heard the question and his answer and is smiling too but no one has mentioned it.

My opinion only DYOR

Firstly thanks again TechGirl I was registered but slept in.

Secondly while we know about Mercedes I was pleasantly surprised with how freely the CEO Sean Hehir spoke to the relationship between Mercedes and Brainchip. This expanding openness for my money speaks to a growing confidence that Mercedes is a solid adopter and the CEO and Brainchip are feeling increasingly confident about where it is going. In the beginning it was very much egg shells all round about what can we say, we need to be careful, we do not want to upset Mercedes etc; I could not be happier about this relationships future for the company.

Thirdly when asked about mobile phones he said they are not focused on this area he did not say they were not working in this area. The former CEO Mr. Dinardo made numerous references to mobile phones but the one thing that sticks out relevant to Sean Hehir's comments is this comment 'mobile phones are an interesting use case. You have to hit them at the right time in their development cycle. A development cycle for a new phone is about 4 years.'

Now to be clear I have not gone back to find Mr, Dinardo's exact words this is just my memory of his words which I have no doubt is accurate as to the message he delivered but is not intended to be taken as word perfect.

So if we consider that the final commercial AKD1000 with improved performance came out only last year and the development cycle is four years and you need to hit it at the right time and you are chasing the best opportunity for getting income through the door even if you were engaged with a mobile phone maker today you would not be focused on them because they would not presently provide the best pathway to revenue.

Hi FF,

Yes I thought he spoke more freely when talking about Mercedes which was nice to listen to, I believe every time Sean speaks he gets better & better at getting his message across. Sean has a great voice & he speaks at the perfect pace.

Yeah I wasn't too worried when I heard the smart phone comment, as if in the very near future phone companies aren't going to be knocking our doors down, foaming at the mouth to get their hands on the best, cheapest most awesome planet saving, power saving chips

This is Samsung, Nvidia, Apple, Google, Intel, LG, HP, Tesla trying to get their hands on our tech once the penny drops

They already booked revenue! I meant to inquire about royalties!

I also asked how the company intends to communicate new business in lieu of NDAs, but Sean gave me the ASX compliance rigmarole…

Thanks for the effort TechGirl,
Highlight for me is when Sean said Renesis are "Developing a SET of products, and as they start shipping those products we will collect royalties on these"

SET = a collection of well defined objects (or in this case multiple products IMO)

Morning Beebo,

Cheers for putting questions forward, Was a little odd at the end of his talk when there were no questions, then..... they started to roll in.

Top job.

Give the man a Kewpie Doll. LOL FF
This is to my knowledge the first time we have had an unqualified statement of this nature regarding revenue.

“We have had terms like:
Some revenue.
We expect some revenue.
We do not expect meaningful revenue.
We expect revenue to ramp up.”

But never a simple unequivocal

“YES.”

Over at that other place those who shall not be named never shut up about this subject supported all the while by MF and AFR.

Yes means YES on the ASX.

I read something somewhere that claimed Sony was in some way shape or form connected with MegaChips but could not find anything that I would call solid evidence. Beyond that you have your Japanese connection though it is a bit like when you travel overseas and someone finds out your are Australian living in Sydney and say do you know Bill Jones he is a mate of mine and he lives in Perth.

Hi Melbourne chippers, just a reminder about our catchup at the Harlow rooftop bar in Richmond next Tuesday night (15th) at 6.30. Looks like they kick us out at 8.30 (although that might be a hangover from covid) but we can always move downstairs or to another bar nearby. If you haven’t already, can you confirm on the ‘Melbourne catchup’ thread if you’re attending. Looking forward to it!

Dear Dodgy-knees, do you feel like checking out the 5 prototype applications mentioned below to see if they're treading on our turf?

From cloud to local

“Currently, in most approaches used to classify images or read identity documents from a smartphone, the device is only used to capture the image. The data is sent to cloud servers for analysis, a process that is often computationally intensive. The result is then sent back to the user’s telephone. The technique works well so long as network coverage is available, but not in areas with no coverage or where access is limited.

To solve this problem, the MobileAI research project aimed to incorporate artificial intelligence technology into the smartphone while maintaining its robustness and ability to operate in real time,” explains Montaser Awal, head of the artificial intelligence research team at ARIADNEXT, a company specializing in the remote verification of ID documents.

(Extract 2)

Mission accomplished. The project has advanced the state of the art and resulted in ten scientific publications and five prototype applications.
