Mixed lollies of positivity, negativity & as the author says No Idea

It sounds like a cool idea. There are a lot of silicon-based AI products trying to build and take advantage of this current level of AI enthusiasm, including a few companies who sound somewhat similar to BrainChip in trying to build smaller, much more efficient AI processors that can handle specific tasks, rather than the big generalist AI chips, like NVIDIA’s GPUs, which can handle almost any task but are overkill for some specific processing needs and have to be housed in huge data centers rather than at the Edge, or in a specific product (like a car). I don’t know enough to know what kind of tasks BrainChip’s Akida designs are best for in this idea of “distributed AI,” whether that’s inference or training or some very specific AI task that could be done by a custom-built chip, but the idea seems to be having AI processing closer that’s done closer to the real-world action, and much more efficient.

It’s a little similar to the evolution of Bitcoin hardware, frankly — originally Bitcoin was mined with regular ol’ CPUs, then some people realized that GPU’s like NVIDIA’s would be far faster if the mining was programmed to use them properly, and those took over… and then Bitcoin got big enough, and established enough, that people could justify spending a big chunk of money on developing customized ASICs (application-specific integrated circuits) that would handle just one task, Bitcoin mining, much more efficiently than a high-end and expensive GPU chipset, and a few companies started making those chips and building that hardware, and before you know it almost all Bitcoin mining was done with ASIC miners from Bitmain, Canaan and others, and ASICs were being designed for other popular cryptocurrencies, too… though GPUs still get a lot of use for the thousands of tinier cryptos that don’t yet justify the development of specific hardware.
Not a bad write-up for Sean in that article

And some hinting about the CEO…

“This CEO is not a household name like Musk, Bezos, or Theil…
“And you won’t recognize his face.
“But once you see all that he’s accomplished… you’ll understand my excitement.
“This tech savant has unmatched experience in driving explosive growth for the world’s largest tech companies.
“His strategic hiring shows the dynamic plan of this company and the potential they hold.
“This leader’s track record includes some of the biggest names in tech…
“He led the way in growing Fusion-io’s annual revenue to $432.4 million…
“During his tenure, HP Inc.’s revenue grew by 50%, causing its stock to rise 313%…
“And by leveraging his expertise, Compaq Corp. beat earnings after earnings, boosting its stock valuation to an appealing $25 billion…”

From there, it’s down to the weighting given to the different neurons based on the situation, meaning that some cars can be better at different skillsets.

Put simply, a team could develop a ‘Rainmaster’ car that might not be as outright fast in dry conditions as another, while another team may have a more aggressive AI car that is less adept in the rain.

What we have done is to let it drive on the Autodrome at 50kph just to start learning, to start understanding what is around, and to start being able to plan the next section,” he continued

Valeo, a pioneer in automotive technology, will showcase a range of cutting-edge innovations at CES 2024, solidifying its commitment to shaping the future of mobility.

The pace of innovation in the auto industry is mind-blowing. The innovations we have chosen to showcase here at CES, show how quickly things we could only dream of a few years ago are now becoming practical applications that will utterly transform how we move around in the very near future“, said Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and CTO Geoffrey Bouquot. “At Valeo, we are proud to have been at CES for the past 10 years and excited to be present again in 2024 to showcase our latest innovations. We look forward to sharing how our technology is empowering tomorrow’s mobility and contributing to a greener, safer, affordable and more connected automotive landscape.

With two locations, we offer double the opportunities to experience Valeo technology. Join us at booth CP17 on the Central Plaza and at our live demonstration area in the Piero’s parking lot at 355 Convention Center Drive. Have a look at our press kit to discover everything you will experience this year. Some highlights include:

  • CES 2024 Innovation Award Honoree Valeo SCALA™ 3 LiDAR: For the first time, we will give visitors the opportunity to experience and learn more about our AI-based perception software and how it helps classify objects identified by the LiDAR in its point cloud.
  • Valeo Predict4Range: We will unveil our software solution to predict and drive the most efficient thermal management strategies of EVs for a driving range extended up to 24% (i.e. less charging stops with faster charging operations), and extended battery life.
  • Valeo Ineez™ Air Charging: We are presenting for the first time our wireless charging solution, the first and only one to use an ultra low operating frequency, around 3kHz, offering a lighter, simpler and safer charging experience.
  • Zeekr x Valeo: The latest Zeekr model will be presented on Valeo’s booth. It redefines the rules of electric vehicle design. Equipped with a 15 mm high Valeo Thinbilite bifunction front lighting module and two digital panels comprising more than 1,700 LEDs, it offers users a unique, personalized and interactive lighting experience.
  • Valeo x BMW: We will present our solution for teleoperation from a cockpit with high reliability. Visitors will be able to drive a BMW Series iX located on the BMW booth while remaining at Valeo booth.

Good morning,

As many would already know, Tony is away on a break until Monday 15 January 2024, as are many of the staff back in the US, having a well
deserved break, coming back fresh, ready to cause some waves at CES.

Will this be our best showing since inception, I think yes !.....it's about reinforcing our current relationships and creating many new leads, engaging
with companies who have observed us from a distance, maybe now feeling comfortable in re/approaching us.

Today's X release by Rob and Todd shows clear intent, Brainchip is not mucking around, we mean business, 2024 it's game on.

As I enjoy a fruit mince tart for morning tea, I say Happy New Year to all, well almost a new year :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:;)

❤️ Akida...........Tech

BOB Bank of Brainchip
ASX......Time to set/follow a good example or is it counter to your charter to protect small companies and investors

And we should take note from SK!!!! There is a bit of action happening with a few reports recently getting published!!

Shorting against emerging 'small companies/upstarts can absolutely crush them all together before they can even make themselves known to the markets!! We have seen how devastating it has been for BRN :-( !!

An Apple Watch Series 9 with notifications for health and medication

Apple has been in a running battle with medical device maker Masimo over its blood oxygen-sensing technology.
The White House has left Apple without hope of federal intervention to keep the current-gen Apple Watch on store shelves. The Biden administration has officially declined to veto restrictions on the company’s wearables due to an ongoing patent dispute, despite the Cupertino tech giant’s pleas. So much for the season of giving.
The U.S. International Trade Commission’s order banning Apple from selling its wearables went into full effect on Tuesday. CEO Tim Cook and his company were desperately hoping that the White House, and specifically Assistant Trade Representative Katherine Tai, would come to the rescue and halt the ITC’s decision. The rep’s office told Reuters on Tuesday it decided not to veto the ban “following careful consultations.”
