Exploring edge AI: Insights from Brainchip’s 2023 edge AI technology report

The recently published 2023 Edge AI Technology Report delves into the present landscape of edge AI, showcasing its diverse applications in both the industrial and consumer realms.
The report, sponsored by Brainchip, Arduino, Arm, Edge Impulse and Sparkfun, explores the advantages of this technology and also sheds light on the challenges it faces. According to experts, edge AI is transforming multiple industries, such as industrial manufacturing, healthcare, consumer products, transportation, smart cities and smart homes.

The edge AI report explores how platforms such as TensorFlow Lite, PyTorch Mobile, OpenVino, Nvidia Jetson and others support edge AI development. It highlights critical hardware and software selection considerations, including integration and security, to ensure a smooth and secure implementation of edge AI.
TinyML is also featured prominently in the report, exploring its advantages, development tools and potential challenges. It delves into the role of TinyML in the products of the future.
The report also examines various edge AI algorithms, including classification, detection, segmentation and tracking algorithms. It further explores the harmonizing of these algorithms with hardware.
Sensing modalities, including vision-based, audio-based and environmental sensing, are also discussed alongside data collection methods. The report showcases how companies like Sparkfun are simplifying data logging, for example.
In a series of case studies, the report provides glimpses into the real-world applications of edge AI. Companies like ST, Sensory Inc and Pachama demonstrate how they’re transforming industries with edge AI technologies.
The report also addresses the challenges of edge AI, such as data management, integration, security, latency, scalability, cost and power consumption. It also suggests potential solutions to these issues.
Looking to the future, the report explores the potential impact of the emergence and growth of 5G/6G networks on edge AI. It foresees a growing significance of neuromorphic computing and event-based processing. Additionally, the report emphasizes the importance of data-efficient AI and in-memory computing for edge AI.

Big news today: Our showcar – which has its world premiere in just two days time – is named 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐂𝐋𝐀 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 and impresses already 🚀 It is the first car to be designed on the all-new Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) platform. The #ConceptCLAClass demonstrates our vision to elevate the segment through design, long-range efficiency, sustainable materials and an entirely new operating system, MB.OS. Stay tuned for the world premiere on September 3!

First off this is 5 days old, lots of comments re reduction in code...

Could someone more technical than me maybe post a comment to highlight the capabilities of Akida. Stephen (the presenter) himself comments that neural networks are beyond him. He has a lot of followers, perhaps he might do a dive into Brainchip? Also the Bull on the news interview says tech is on a new run, worth a watch. Could we be a fit with Tesla?

Listening to this video, and specifically focusing on the recent performance of tech stocks and the direction of tech over the next decade, emphasizes the disconnect between Brainchip's likely role and its somnambulant (so far) stock price/performance.

This disconnect cannot last forever and when it awakens it will be rocket ship ride that we dare not miss.

Please Brainchip....don't succumb to an ill advised premature buyout.

Hadn't seen this before and picked it up from this guy's LinkedIn post.

Warning, this MB "movie" (Strategy update on MBOS) from Feb 23 is like 2 hrs long

I skimmed through to parts I thought may explain certain areas better but no mention of neuromorphic but may have missed something...someone else might have time watch it all and see?

The new concept cla is out from Mercedes. Info is being reported by the hour. It looks very similar to the eqxx and has a lot of new features and I particularly like the interior layout.

One comment.....Nice....very, very Nice (y)

Tech.
Even nicer if AKIDA is in there. Not a single mention of neuromorphic tech in the article, but it is all a bit vague. At 30% more efficient than Volvo perhaps Merc are keeping the secret sauce very secret. We'll know soon.

Mercedes Benz are our client, and have been for awhile now, they will do what they wish with our technology, whether that means
doing everything alone or working in with the best in the business, that is, the brilliant team/s that Peter and Anil have assembled over
the journey, specializing in all and everything to do with SNN's.

To assume that Mercedes research teams haven't worked in with us would be extremely foolish in my opinion..I expect our technology
will end up in the Mercedes range of vehicles over the coming releases, time shall tell if I'm right or wrong.

AKIDA....we all love u ❤️

AI and carbon footprint....

Tech's carbon footprint: can AI revolutionize responsibly?

2023/09/02

Snippet

The naysayers have it "backwards," Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang told reporters on a recent visit to his company's headquarters in California.

The mass deployment of AI and faster computing will in the end diminish the need to go to the world's data clouds, he argued.

AI's superpowers will turn your laptop, car or the device in your pocket into an energy-efficient supercomputer without the need to "retrieve" data from the cloud.

"In the future, there'll be a little tiny model that sits on your phone and 90 percent of the pixels will be generated, 10 percent will be retrieved, instead of 100 percent retrieved -- and so you're going to save (energy)," he said
