BRN Discussion Ongoing

Pretty well in line with expectations with deferrment to Gen 2 Akida.. I’d call this priced in, and Gen 2 developments or any inklings of product development will see a re-rate in valuation in my view..

Im keeping the faith even the best companies struggle in the early years.

I always think of the story about the founder of FedEx.

“In the early days of FedEx, Smith had to go to great lengths to keep the company afloat. In one instance, after a crucial business loan was denied, he took the company's last $5,000 to Las Vegas and won $27,000 gambling on blackjack to cover the company's $24,000 fuel bill. It kept FedEx alive for one more week.“

Hopefully Sean and Ken aren’t planning a trip to Vegas just yet..

Brace yourself - Screenshot/moderation incoming 😂
Why would he get a moderation when his post epitomises his talent as a poet , sadly missing in our world . The new world of Rap created by less than educated primitives holds rhyme as an essential in their multi million dollar releases

Can someone please explain to me......
In the 4c we had "Receipts from customers" (for the quarter) $828,000
Annual Report........ Revenue from customers with contracts $115,606
What am I missing?
Hi Boab

The 4C shows cash physically received where as the annual report shows sales invoiced/accrued.

This difference in cash vs accruals creates a timing difference.

Ie. the 4C and the annual report could be for the period 1 January 2023 to 30 June 2023, but have different results.

The 4C would show cash received in that period, which might includes sales invoiced PRIOR to 1 January 2023. The 4C would also not include sales which were invoiced on or before 30 June 2023 for which cash has not been received yet, whereas the annual report would show these sales, but the note the sales invoiced prior to 1 January 2023.

Hopefully this will dumb me further under 20% holding in my super and I just buy more…

I’m still confident and I dont retire for another 12 years… so there’s time.
Hi mate,
just checked mine and I'm down to 19.5% but i think I'll wait for the recalibration on Tuesday and fortunately of unfortunately I think I'll be able to get another little chunk. I'm not backing away from this little beauty.

I would like to see BRN consolidate Akida 2 (& it's 3 levels?) with some sales before pushing the next level too early.

If the Co. keep saying watch out for 3, then 4 and so on, there may be a chance big companies will just hold off for something better each time?

Liker another member here, each time I buy more (this morning), I too appear to curse the share price .

Not sure if someone has already mentioned it yet, skimmed over responses - the lack of revenue is due to no new licenses or sales from licensed products.

Technically, as frustrating as it may be, this is known information. The report just summarizes what we and the market should have priced in, but I understand that won't be the case and it's will be some now-common Monday pain haha
Head up people, this all still tracks with managements comments especially those by Antonio in the Podcasts this week.
Looking forward to the v2 adoption and engagements.

The only thing I had hoped for that isn't in there is perhaps a few hundred of thousands more to represent milestone payments in regards to Valeo. I'm secretly hoping we are super close to a closing deal and look forward to the uptick in progress/milestone revenue that might pre-date the announcement.

Anyway, hope you all have a good weekend

The only piece of good news I can see in that report is that several potential clients chose to defer their evaluations until the release of Akida V2. And therein lies the problem with telegraphing a bigger, better widget. I fear I'm going to grow a lot older before BRN management is able to post any significant commercial progress. Go on Sean & co, prove me worng........PLEASE!!!
Yes we all expect more contracts and/or visible evidence of solid commitments & I believe that once Akida Gen 2 is launched officially, there should be some VISIBLE signs of at least 1 or 2 clients who will be utilising the chip. 🤞
The release/launch of a Generation 2 chip should be full of fanfare and I am expecting management to clearly update ASX as per a price sensitive announcement. This is a huge deal and I'll be watching to see if management steps up the communication and PR when AKD2.0 is released.
The market has been harsh to the SP so far but let's really hope for a surprise by the start of September I am keeping the faith for something more substantial even a new IP contract soon (hope by next Friday) I have sent a letter to Tony to get more insight and will share my findings when I get a response. Good luck to all.

I’m on 16.9%. So should be able to get some more…

Good luck to us all.

I understand we have had a joint development agreement with Valeo for a number of years now and that there is some consensus on these boards that Akida IP is embedded in the upcoming Scala 3 LiDAR. I am/was in the camp that thought this was the case. Having listened to Antonio in part 2 of the recent investor podcast and reading the commentary contained in the just released half yearly it appears potential sales/licenses are hinging on the release of Akida 2.0. Eventhough EAPs would have early access to Akida 2.0 surely that would not be enough time to get it into Scala 3. My question, probably for @Diogenese is, would Scala 3 be able to be produced using Akida 1.0? Valeo have had access to that for years so I will remain enthusiastic we are in it if AKD 1 is enough. Cheers. Onward.

Strangely I feel relieved to have the H1 behind us. Odds on it was going to be as ugly as it was, and I have a sneaking suspicion that this is the final throw of the dice for shorts. Give it a few days and let’s see if positions start getting closed.

Akida 2.0 due any day now. Several customers evaluating with a view to licensing on official release … and they have been evaluating since April, with a product in 2.0 designed with their specific needs in mind.

Then we have Valeo launch of SCALA 3, partnering with us since 2019. That’s the 4 year product development timeline we expect … I think even the shorters can see we are very likely to be part of that. And then the upcoming Mercedes operating system launch in September, again, odds on we will be part of that after several years of development.

So, this could be the final shake … maybe Akida 2.0 will be launched in the next few days. The H1 report does refer to the expected launch of Akida 2.0 in August.

Great podcast by Antonio today, great insight, confidence and clear direction.

Like lancing the boil, get this H1 report done & dusted, then bring on Akida 2.0 and material contracts.

Completly non related to the half-year report, I'd like share an article that (once more, as we already anticipate it) mentions the shift (or at least the growing space) of the AI market from training to inference at the edge:

4- The evolution from AI training to AI inference: Much of Nvidia’s AI success has been built on the ability of its product to support training of very large AI models, a necessary early phase as organizations of all types experimenting with AI and start to adapt the technology to address their own particular needs. The market in the coming years will transition AI training to AI inference, that is, well-trained AI taking action and making decisions to support business and IT operations. Gold said, "The AI market is diversifying, with the majority of the market today being on large AI model training systems in cloud/data centers, but in the next few years the majority of the AI market opportunity will shift to inference on edge-based systems. Not clear Nvidia has a good answer to that space."
