BRN Discussion Ongoing

I think it's that we are a class apart.
Hi Dio

I was thinking along the same lines. No category for Tiny Computers on 28nm chips that run on milliwatts of power without connection. LOL

I acted for a French Chef for a short period of time after he was arrested on a yacht full of blocks of cocaine. My involvement was short lived as he was unhappy that I would not smuggle in fresh carrots to him at the Long Bay Remand Centre. According to him other lawyers did this for their clients. I received a call from a Prison Officer who I had acted for in an industrial matter that there was a rumour that my unhappy chef had organised something for me at the next visit and suggesting I not attend. Never one to be intimidated back then I organised for a former police officer Barrister friend to come with me to the next interview.

When we were allowed into the area where the legal interview was to take place on our side of the barrier, unusually there was a prisoner with knuckles that literally dragged on the ground. He growled at me and walked away. No doubt my 6 foot 9 inch 20 stone companion was more than he was paid to deal with on this occasion. Anyway we saw my client he expressed his displeasure over the carrots and I informed him of my intention to no longer act. He eventually was sentenced to 20 years with 15 years on the bottom. I never found out if his new lawyers were happy to smuggle carrots. FF

So the Mercedes S Class would not meet your definition as it is a low volume vehicle for example. FF
What I'm getting at is Institutional investors want a feel for the potential revenue BRN may generate . ATM, everyone outside the company is a headless chook. Has BRN the potential to be a $10 company or a $100 company? Mass market to me would be anything over 100k per year where BRN get a stipend per chip.

I don't believe there will be a contract just for the S Class. I think when Mercedes uses Akida in a new model, they will roll it out in all new models which qualifies as high volume. In an EV they could potentially use 50 chips per vehicle with Akida technology.

I'm still pinning my hopes on Akida will be first used in the EQS and EQE SUV's slated for release in the US later this year. They just start producing batteries for them in the new plant in Bibb County Alabama. The vehicle assembly plant in Tuscaloosa is 7km down the road. It will take them a few months to ramp up and tweak the battery plant.

Mercedes also released a Mercedes-Maybach concept car late last year. They didn't have much Technical detail about it on their website so don't know what they are using for Hey Mercedes.

The reason I ask is because Renesas is a mass market producer of MCU's across far more than just automotive and we have been informed that they are due to release their MCU this year which has had AKIDA IP embedded in it so I am unsure why you are pinning your hopes just on the EQS from Mercedes. Certainly Mercedes is a prestige customer but Renesas while not a household name in Australia it is certainly capable of producing the sort of mass market you have defined.

Anyway we will be rewarded in due course whether it be Mercedes, Renesas, MegaChips, a white goods manufacturer using AKD500, Ford, Valeo or the Vorago/ISL Defence contracts.

As for everyone being a headless chook that is a very harsh description and not one I agree too as being a reasonable generalisation.

By the way you seemed to have missed the announcement about Mercedes buying into the battery producer ACC which I posted yesterday:

"Mar 23, 2022
Stuttgart (Germany)
Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis and TotalEnergies/Saft signed a deal to become equal partners in Automotive Cells Company (ACC), completing a transaction announced in September 2021 (Link). The partners have committed to increase ACC’s industrial capacity to at least 120 Gigawatt hours (GWh) by 2030 and to scale up development and production of next-generation high-performance battery cells and modules.
As part of the Mercedes-Benz strategy to go all-electric, ACC will supply the world’s most valuable luxury automotive brand with high-performance battery technologies from mid of the decade.
“Our stake in ACC marks another important step on the way towards an all-electric product portfolio by the end of the decade. To reach this target, we need a total battery production capacity of more than 200 Gigawatt hours by 2030. This is why we are continuously expanding our own R&D and production activities, and teaming up with partners to speed up progress”, said Markus Schäfer, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, Chief Technology Officer responsible for Research & Development and Procurement.
“We believe in a local for local sourcing approach and will develop and produce battery cells and modules with ACC in Europe. With each partner contributing their particular strengths, we can create a strong European manufacturer of competitive, state-of-the-art battery cells and modules. With a convincing ecological footprint.”
As an equal shareholder, Mercedes-Benz will contribute its expertise and support the expansion of ACC’s production network based on the brand’s benchmark quality standards. With Saft, an affiliate of TotalEnergies, Mercedes-Benz has a partner with over 100 years of experience in the field of long-life batteries and battery systems for applications critical to safety, back-up power and electric and hybrid drives. Stellantis brings industrialisation expertise to the joint venture through its brand diversity, size and global footprint. Together with its partners, Mercedes-Benz customers can benefit from the joint venture’s unique combination of technological know-how, production experience and scale.e
With the investment, Mercedes-Benz is industrialising advanced and sustainable cell technologies in Europe. Mercedes-Benz is expanding its portfolio of partnerships to safeguard the degree of localisation in the procurement of battery cells and modules as a key technology for the age of electric mobility.
The new Shareholder Agreement is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals."

The following news item from 16 March, 2022 also affirms Mercedes commitment to fast tracking its move to Electric Vehicles:

"TUSCALOOSA, Ala., March 15 (Reuters) - Mercedes-Benz AG (MBGn.DE) won't cut spending on future electric vehicles even as it copes with supply-chain cost pressures exacerbated by the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the German automaker's chief executive said on Tuesday.

Ola Kaellenius, speaking during the company's opening of its first U.S. electric vehicle (EV) battery factory, also affirmed the company's 2022 financial outlook remained in place despite the conflict.

"We always protect the investment into future technology and future products," Kaellenius told Reuters. "That is the seed which we will harvest. Not even in COVID year of 2020 did we cut back on R&D for crucial projects."

Mercedes is working with suppliers in Ukraine whose operations have been disrupted, he added, but it was "too early to tell what the wider ramifications will be."

Rocketing gasoline prices since Russia's invasion of Ukraine has amplified the challenges for established automakers that still rely on fossil fuel-powered vehicles for profits. And soaring prices for materials used in EV batteries like nickel, heavily mined in Russia, have also hurt the industry.

Kaellenius is trying to accelerate the shift by Mercedes from combustion technology company to a firm whose products do not emit carbon and rely on software and computing power.

Mercedes and other established automakers trail Tesla in EV sales and in developing computer and software systems to compete with the U.S. firm's stream of new features and updates.

Daimler Truck split from Mercedes in December and Kaellenius said Tuesday he saw no reason for Mercedes to further separate EVs from the combustion-engine operations. Some investors have pushed established automakers to create pure EV units"

Thanks Rocket,

Most of what I’ve read so far goes like this:

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

followed by some of this:

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

and a bit of $$$$$$$$$$.

😂
There is a lot in the report but here is some interesting titbits!

Love it when they talk in BILLIONS!

The question is how big is the slice of the pie going to be for Brainchip?

Mmmm, Depends on how many other commercially available AI chips there are?

Oh wait, first, only and best in class!

Big piece of pie please!

Finally received my PCIE board!
I must say, when holding it I feel as though I’m holding a nugget of gold, or a large diamond LOL.

What I see from all the enthusiasts and the professors at universities who have purchased boards is there will be some very very creative things created, and slowly but surely it will be posted all over different social media platforms, everybody will be amazed at what it can do, then the large organisations will see, Brainchip will be spoken about, the worlds first neuromorphic processor, it’s here now, ready, and this is only the beginning!

I wonder if the chip has a sensory function that can identify the purchaser who has purchased it for the sole purpose of stealing its technology and infringe on all of its patents and legal processes in place for BRN to protect and capitalise on its generational changing properties for the next 20 years and if so then self destructor scramble it’s advanced technology

No idea, something that’ll capture the attention of the world LOL.
I have asked someone else to build the first time machine so that one is taken. I have bagged the first trip. Next best is probably a worm hole portal you could do that one. I get first go if you crack it. FF

Something to ponder:

When the EQXX was released in January it was stated that the whole production process was achieved in 18 months. If we assume it was finished in December, 2021 then they sat down to start designing EQXX at the end of June, 2020.

Now at some point before then Mercedes as a corporate entity would have had to consider a proposal and agree the budget and corporate direction. We now know that the EQXX is the template for an all electric vehicle future by 2038.

When you read the following article in September, 2019 Mercedes was declaring that they could not envisage a time when Mercedes would not be producing internal combustion engines.

So what happened in the eight months or so from beginning October, 2019 until end of June, 2020 to completely cause Mercedes to reinvent its future and decide it could leapfrog Tesla and produce the first even 1,000 kilometre EV???

Something must have happened or someone came up with an amazing proposal that convinced Mercedes that they had the Edge and could dominate in the EV race.
