Could you point me to the other technologies that will overtake us?

I'm not being cocky, condescending or anything like that but I do a hell of a lot of reading on the AI space and I may have missed an emerging tech that will overtake us.

I'm also using quotes from those within that say they are 3yrs ahead of their nearest competition. Now I'd be pretty confident that they are very aware of what's out there and wouldn't make such statements knowing that the Akida tech could suddenly be behind the 8ball.

There is an AGM on Tuesday and people are bickering behind peoples backs.

Ask the questions face to face.

This merry go round of I dont like the answers im getting or the company should run the way I want it to run is childish.

How many times have we been discussing these.
What have I missed

On Tuesday I hope to join other shareholders and attend the AGM of BRN as I did last year.

In the intervening 12 months the market value of our BRN investments has declined $0.68c from $1.15 to 47c per share., a drop of 60%.

To get back to where we were 12 month ago, the current share price will have to bounce by 150%, a considerable ask. A rise of over 300% would be needed to take us back to the heights of early 2022.

If I had sold 1000 shares ago 12 months ago for $1150, I could have brought back 2446 shares at Fridays closing price. When this parcel of shares recovers to last years AGM price it would have a market value of $$2812, The gain/loss of $1662 for the sale of 1000 shares represents the opportunity cost of holding on to my shares and not trading them.

Unlike what is often suggested on this forum, the responsibility for this decline in portfolio value is mine, not the Companies. I was not clever enough to trade my shares. I chose not to take the advice of “down rampers” or the much maligned shorter”. I read TSE and comfort my self that I am an investor, not a share trader, but that has come at a financial cost.

So what do I expect at the AGM?

I would like to hear a clear roadmap of how the company plans to execute and achieve commercialisation.

I do not believe it is sufficient for the company to simply repeat their confident assertion made (unchanged) in the last two quarterly updates, namely:

in the coming (months) the Company will focus on key sales targets and converting technical evaluations into paid licences. In addition, the Company is accelerating development of next-generation Akida IP and products to extend our technological lead and market opportunity. We remain positive on future market penetration and broad adoption of BrainChip’s technology”.

It would be an insult to “loyal shareholders” to offer no further information or comfort than this to long term shareholders.

We need to understand why paid licences and IP fees have not materialised in the promised way.

We need some comfort that partners/enablers/facilitators are going to part out some hard cash shortly. Or does Akida merely remain the enthusiastic plaything of researchers and technophiles and is not a commercial proposition.

Sure there have been economic headwinds, and Akida technology is revolutionary. However “sales will explode” and “watch the financials” have a hollow ring at the moment.

In the past the Board and Management have shown a commendable willingness and ability to shift strategy and respond to the needs of Akida customers. However the responsibility of the Board and Management is to put in place and execute a successful strategy to bring Akida to the market and to achieve sales.

Hopefully we will be surprised at the AGM.

I am looking forward to receiving from the Board and Management a clear explanation, more information and a executable plan of how commercialisation is to be achieved and delivered to the patient/committed investor shareholders, or are we to remain the plaything of traders?

As always, just my opinion.

OutbackJohn

Mira 02Y-E can be integrated into various air platforms, missiles, vehicles, and hand-held devices to identify and detect hostile fire.
Quantum Imaging, a subsidiary of SCDUSA, has launched its event-based short wave infrared (SWIR) camera, the Mira 02Y-E.
Designed for advanced, low SWaP-C applications, Mira 02Y-E can be integrated into various air platforms, missiles, vehicles, and hand-held devices to identify and detect hostile fire, and more. Mira 02Y-E features high frame rates and coded spot tracking (CST), alongside event-based imaging capabilities for a wide range of platforms.
The camera includes an InGaAs focal plane array with a pixel pitch of 10µm, improved background-independency enabling operation with highly-illuminated scenes, and a low noise imaging mode (LNIM) for low light level (LLL) imaging and improved situational awareness.
The ROIC imager technology also means Mira can offer an independent second stream of neuromorphic imaging for event detection. This reduces the amount of data communication while tracking ‘what changed in the scene’.
Mira leverages the technology of Semi Conductor Devices' Swift-El detector, a low size weight and power (SWaP) and low-cost VGA format 10-micron pitch detector.
“Now, for the first time, customers can benefit from a SWIR camera with built-in technology that can provide event analytics of numerous details," says Mark Fydenkevez, CEO of Quantum Imaging.”
Quantum Imaging will launch Mira 02Y-E next week at the annual SPIE Defence and Commercial Sensing conference in Orlando.

A nice way to think. But the difference here is who are the people promoting GPT. Nvidia is biggest profiter and is established company. Microsoft invested 10 billion in open ai and take a share of company. Can anyone tell how much money was invested in open ai. And how expensive the chat GPT project was?
On the other hand brainchip had not offered a single share to any big company. Even to Microsoft we want to sell a licence not equity.
So our strategy is different from chat gpt and that should be considered our strength than weakness.
The founders of our company have great courage, patience and vision. Let the time decide who is going to rule the market in longer run.
We are improving our ecosystem which means we just start penetrating.
Once the actual products start hitting the shelves we will get everyone's attention.

B, I have been in this longer than most . Can't bitch, cos I've made a poultice on paper. That said, I hope hard questions are not only asked at the AGM, but also answered. My fear is they wont be. Hope I'm wrong. GLTA

There's not a lot I disagree with here but it's not really answering the question I asked 🤔

As for ChatGPT. How could that adversely affect Akida? ChatGPT is essentially a Chatbot(very simplistic take).

I saw ChatGPT coming, but not nearly as quickly as it arrived, nor with the quality it has become in that time. As a developer interested in technology, I try to keep up with what is new when I can find the time to do so.

The Transformer architecture was developed by Google in 2017, and GPT-1 from OpenAI was not very well known. GPT-2 was open-sourced in 2019 when things started to get interesting.

GPT-2 formed the basis of an online interactive game called "AI Dungeon." If you were ever a fan of text adventures or online dungeons, it's quite the treat. GPT became a closed-source model, and Microsoft invested heavily in the venture.

In late 2021, I watched a YouTube video from OpenAI about "Codex," an application that wrote code from English descriptions. Impressive, but nothing that competent programmers would have to worry about.

Today's ChatGPT is much more robust, extremely good at writing code in several languages given the correct prompts, and can do such tasks as the translation from one language to another, optimization, the addition of error handling and unit testing code, and describing what code does in plain English. I'm very impressed by how far it's come so quickly, and it is only getting better.

I want to note here that it has been about six (6) years since Google introduced Transformers, and ChatGPT didn't become explosive in popularity until early this year. This technology has been in the hands of developers, has spawned some fascinating projects, and is now getting a lot of interest in the industry.

Let that amount of time sink in. I have not seen any other technology introduced by anyone else capable of completely replacing it (yet). BrainChip is in a similar position. While the MetaTF software has been available for a few years, the silicon for AKD1000 wasn't in the average Joe's hands until January 2022, almost a year and a half ago.

While other competitors are looking at neuromorphic computing solutions, BrainChip is one of the leaders when comparing end-user benchmarks. Additionally, they are protected by patents, such as one-shot learning (something I think is sorely underestimated).

As I mentioned before, neuromorphic computing is a new way of doing things, and AI accelerator processors (such as Intel's Movidius Neural Compute Stick, released in 2017) have been around for some time. It will take time for this technology to be adopted, and I think eventually BrainChip will be noticed by more companies as a result of the gaining popularity of AI through tools such as ChatGPT.

I think it's great that companies want to play around with BrainChip's technology. In doing so, their eyes are opened to the possibilities. How many people buy a new car without taking it for a test drive and contemplating their decision?

Just for context: Someone posted a Teksun blurb a short time ago, but when I tried to post this reply, it was gone (- phantom NDA?):

The Teksun HMI uses CNN, a software image classification implementation which is extremely power hungry, so they would have been just as impressed as Prophesee, nViso, etc., when they saw the real time, low power response of Akida. Their Human/Machine Interface (HMI) looks like it would have room for only one PC board (loader with ARM processors), but I guess they may have been able to port a PCIe board.

BrainChip is the worldwide leader in on-chip edge AI processing and learning technology, that enables faster, efficient, secure, and customizable intelligent devices untethered from the cloud. The company’s first-to-market neuromorphic processor, AkidaTM, mimics the human brain, the most efficient computer known, to analyze only essential sensor inputs at the point of acquisition, executing only necessary operations and therefore, processing data with unparalleled efficiency and precision. This supports a distributed intelligence approach keeping machine learning local to the chip, independent of the cloud, dramatically reducing latency, while simultaneously improving privacy and data security.

The Akida neural processor is designed to provide a complete ultra-low power Edge AI network processor for vision, audio, smart transducers, vital signs and, broadly, any sensor application.
BrainChip’s scalable solutions, that can be used standalone or integrated into systems on chip to execute today’s models and future networks directly in hardware, empowering the market to create much more intelligent, cost-effective devices and services universally deployable across real-world applications in connected cars, healthcare, consumer electronics, industrial IoT, smart-agriculture and more, including use in a space mission and the most stringent conditions.

BrainChip is the foundation for cost-effective, fan-less, portable, real-time Edge AI systems that can offload the cloud, reducing the rapid growth in carbon footprint of datacenters. In addition, Akida’s unique capability to learn locally on device also reduces retraining of models in the cloud whose skyrocketing cost is a barrier to the growth of AIoT.

I met @OutbackJohn at a Melbourne shareholder catch up a few years ago. I can vouch that he is a LTH and the real deal. Good on you Outback for making it up to Sydney.
Unfortunately the roll out of my new clinic has clashed with the AGM. Enjoy all that are attending and I’ll be sure to be signing in live on Tuesday. The plan is to be at the next one and we will hopefully be chatting about how great it is to have some consistent revenue flying in!

Edit: have now seen that @JoMo68 has also spoken for Outback…also met JoMo at this same event. Bring on the next $1 party event in the best city in Australia 💪
