Antonio J. Viana appointed as Chairman of the Board.

Ex ARM President and currently a Director of Brainchip.

Very happy to be on the BrainChip bus with Mr Hehir as the driver and Mr Viana as the navigator. To the far edge and beyond.

Its great to be a shareholder.

My present thought is I would like the new non executive director to be a US based female with a similar background to Christa Steele.

Sad to see Manny retire but he originally agreed to step in short term and he has given much more than reasonably expected. Wish him good health in retirement.

When the new Chair was appointed as a non executive director I wondered if this was the plan as he was clearly Chair material.

Brainchip now have the young hungry team from top to bottom.

My opinion only DYOR

An observation, when I first saw Antonio presenting a video presentation, I personally thought that he was either under prepared or a little unsure of himself.

But when he presented most recently with Rob, he came across with much more assertiveness, basically displaying a lot more confidence in his delivery, which I liked.

I maybe completely wrong here, but Manny's departure would have been in my opinion, a totally planned event, whereby I wouldn't be surprised at all if, hiring Antonio in the first place with the objective that, he would step into Manny's shoes at this point in time had been pre-empted.

On a couple of other points, when I posted that photo a few days ago, I got to thinking what I had written, I'd like to correct something that I said....I was actually holding the board that housed the production chip, NOT the engineering sample, and it was a great honour, for what it's worth.

Finally, something I forgot to mention, when Sean presented recently, he mentioned our cash burn a few times, now couple that with the recent comments from Rob I think it was, saying that we could have around 100 or more ? staff by years end, in 10 months in other words, it's very obvious to me at least that the company must be very confident that revenue is going to start coming in...so we will all be watching this space very carefully.

Looking forward to the news with regards the ASX200 !! ??

90% of new cars in the next decade will be fully-equipped with ADAS which will drive rapid growth in the demand for chips and sensors.

A MUST READ article published 2 hours ago!!!

Extract

At the heart of ADAS is Artificial Intelligence (AI) coupled with a host of sensors and cameras. Significant strides have been made in the area of automotive safety. Passive safety measures (e.g., shatter-resistant glass, airbags) are a thing in the past. Today, AI with sensor fusion can identify and process objects similar to a human brain allowing the vehicle to respond faster than any human driver could.

At its essence, ADAS is all about safety. Essential ADAS features include traffic sign recognition and pedestrian detection/avoidance. Small wonder ADAS is utilised extensively by self-driving or autonomous car technology today. Indeed, ADAS development is central in building up a smart transport system. Already, industry stalwarts note that Taiwan’s ADAS developers are focused on image sensors, panorama monitoring or automotive chips. To be able to compete in a global market, these developers must tackle three key challenges: 1.) how to effectively manage the cost of installing lower-end ADAS on cheaper cars; 2.) how to apply autonomous driving data to an ADAS; 3.) how to manage ADASs on software-defined vehicles (SDVs), industry suppliers noted.

This article talks about the downfall of Kodak and what its demise can teach the semiconductor industry. Kodak failed to capitalize on the digitization of photography in a massive corporate blunder that would eventually result in its bankruptcy.

The author says there are parallels with the semiconductor industry which is flush with creative and supply challenges and that the "trick is to anticipate disruptions with vision and act with courage". And in the following extract he may as well be referring to BrainChip - the jewell in the crown IMO. 😻

Extract

The future of the semiconductor industry belongs to platforms that can emulate that effect. Software engineers represent the largest creative community in the semiconductor world — a community at least an order of magnitude larger than the hardware engineering community required to develop chips and FPGAs.

So, to disrupt the traditional semiconductor model, we need a medium that maximizes the breadth and speed of expression for the software programmer. This can come in the form of a flexible off-the-shelf platform for delivery of their creations that’s low-power and affordable to produce — essentially defining the behavior of silicon purely in software.

The successful realization of such a vision may well deliver a seismic effect comparable to the digitization of photography. In a semiconductor market that’s widely predicted to exceed $600 billion in 2022, the rewards to those with the courage and creativity to deliver it will be great. Just as businesses other than Kodak were able to compete for the crown in the photographic industry, so can the organizations in pursuit of the chips that could dominate the semiconductor market in the coming years.

AJV's appointment to Chair IMO is a key piece of the jigsaw underpinning the successful commercialisation of Akida with laser focus on the Company's IP licencing business model courtesy of his carer with ARM.

Nothing like an injection of ARM corporate culture right at the top.

Nothing like a few slices of Arm culture…to give us a leg up !!

I believe Manny could ‘hear the drums Hernandez’.

He and LDN were peas in a pod, so when Lou retired (albeit hurt) for mine it was only a matter of time before Manny followed. They were from the same era, and with their stepping aside, I believe we have almost the complete team at the top to take us beyond the cloud.

I agree with Fact, it would be good if the next non executive director has a similar background to Christa.

Totally agree,

This is what Mr Viana is part of when he was at ARM, the growth from 2008.

Hi all

I came across a post regarding the Nvidia GTC 2022 AI conference. I've had a brief look at some of the sessions and they look pretty good.

The event is free to register and looks as though it runs across a few days.

I'll try to get around to having a look at some of the presenters on LinkedIn to see if I can find any dots etc. but thought some of the more techy type people here might be interested in checking out what's on the run sheet.

There's presenters from DARPA and Tata as well as all of the usual companies that you'd expect.

Cheers

I'm very happy with AJV's appointment to Chair and believe that it was likely when he was appointed as a non executive director.

I do wish Manny well in his retirement but was not impressed with his review and handling of the AGM remuneration report a few years ago and onwards.... some things are hard to let go.

I believe AJV and Sean will work very well together and produce great outcomes for the company.

FF always a pleasure to read your posts, full of thought and great research. Thankyou

Hi Cirat
Thank you for the kind words.

Nothing fruitful grows in the past. No matter how much water I have to put on it GPI and SNN Tech cannot be saved so all we are left with is are what if’s.

If the SNN Tech ethics had been beyond reproach and if GPI had not been taken over Mr. Dinardo might now be in your hall of fame. LOL

Afternoon Chippers,

Just eyeballing all the trades so far today and happened to notice there was a cheeky little one early.

7:29:12
130,000 units
@ $1.2015
= $156,188.63
ASX LT XT.

Iseki,

Interesting video above, I would of thought they all would try to help one another out if they were working together ??? strange.

Yes if you are like me all I do all day is watch the buy/sell activity (not recommended as it can do your head in).

Definitely a change of tactic in the past couple of days with the buy side slowly creeping up.

Don't rely on charts though as I am more interested in trying to understand the different types of manipulation/games that the big players partake in.

From memory the LDA capital call is ending soon or already has.

As long as there are no major developments overseas then we may be on the way up.
