Laguna Hills, Calif. – December 11, 2022 –BrainChip Holdings Ltd (ASX: BRN, OTCQX: BRCHF, ADR: BCHPY), the world’s first commercial producer of ultra-low power neuromorphic AI IP, today announced that it has become a member of the Intel Foundry Services (IFS) ecosystem alliance to help advance innovation on Intel’s foundry manufacturing platform.

Intel has been struggling. This is an important partnership for them to breathe some life back in.
BRN has a lot of doubters. This is an important partnership for BRN to solidify the credibility and a chance for wancas to have second thoughts on their market positioning on BRN. Time for some reflection to think whether they want to ride in the train or stay on tracks in front of it.
Please excuse my French....

But they can Fuck right off if they think they can join the cheer squad! 😂

I'm waiting for our good friend Claude to respond to a comment someone made towards him on Facebook! 😂😂

Honestly, I was surprised there wasn’t t more of you who reacted like this. The Gospel is often offensive to those who are yet to accept it. I wasn’t expecting a standing ovation or a pat on the back, and I am very aware that this is a stock forum, and not a religious forum. But the very last “religious” lesson from me is this: the Gospel message is not to sit in a church on Sunday for 1 hour and pat other believers on their back, we are called to be a light in the darkness, to stand out, not to be glorified, but to glorify. So in the true essence of the Gospel, this is exactly the right forum. I once was in darkness, but now I am in the light. I am completely naked before God, yet clothed in his righteousness. I only want people to experience the true power of the living God like I did. He transformed my life. He made me a new creation! Depression lifted in exchange for Joy! He filled my house with laughter, and tore off the shackles of guilt and shame. If he did it form me, he can do it for any one of you. Don’t worry, I’m done now, but when someone tells me to F/O I just get too excited 😆
I prefer to know when I invest instead of believing.

LOIHI 2017-12/12/2022

Loihi was a neuromorphic research test chip designed by Intel Labs that uses an asynchronous spiking neural network (SNN)

The chip was formally presented at the 2018 Neuro Inspired Computational Elements (NICE) workshop in Oregon.

Loihi died a slow and painful death due to the emergence of a new competitor technology that is far superior in every technological aspect,
Brainchip Akida.

Friends of Loihi take comfort that the years and years of research in Loihi is finally over.

BRN make an announcement on the ASX? Nah ... too many shareholders and potential investors who don't check the website every five minutes might see it. Gotta keep them in the dark!
How the hell could this news not warrant an ASX announcement ... even if it's marked not price sensitive?
Just staggering.

Confused why Brainchip has elected so far not to make an ASX announcement. They seem to be fixated on remaining invisible to, I believe, the detriment of shareholders.

Intel is finally cracking the foundry business in its deal with Taiwan’s MediaTek

By Dashveenjit Kaur | 27 July, 2022

  • Intel and MediaTek have formed a strategic partnership to build chips for “a range of smart edge devices” using Intel Foundry Services (IFS).
  • While TSMC has been producing MediaTek’s advanced process nodes for a long time, the partnership with Intel will focus on building for mature nodes.
  • The partnership marked a major strategy shift for Intel, which for years had focused on making chips for its own use.
In 2021, Intel launched Intel Foundry Services, a new division of its internal foundry that will manufacture third-party chips. It was part of the US tech giant’s goal after CEO Pat Gelsinger assumed his current role in 2021 — to crack the foundry business, which also means to start making chips for other companies. After all, Gelsinger’s strategy is to regain Intel’s leadership in semiconductor manufacturing by 2025.

For context, Intel had for years focused on making chips for its own use, therefore the move to venture into the foundry business marked a major strategy shift for the company. Yet, Intel seemed unperturbed with the competition within the space, but more focused on restoring its lead in the process race. So far, Intel has attracted Qualcomm and cloud service provider AWS, its first major customers, to use its production platforms.

Earlier this week, Intel announced that it will soon start producing chips for Taiwan’s MediaTek after signing a deal with the latter. The strategic partnership to manufacture chips using Intel Foundry Services’ (IFS) advanced process technologies, marks an important win for America’s biggest semiconductor company as it attempts to break into the chip foundry business dominated by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC).

For context, both Qualcomm and MediaTek are TSMC’s clients. MediaTek, also the world’s leading mobile chip developer by shipments, told Nikkei Asia that the partnership with Intel will be for “mature” chip production process technologies, such as the so-called Intel 16 process technology, which can be used in a wide range of chips for “smart edge devices.”

On the other hand, MediaTek has been one of TSMC’s top clients for years, whereby all of the former’s 5G mobile chip platforms and chips are made using the latter’s cutting-edge technology. The agreement with Intel is also designed to help MediaTek build a more balanced, resilient supply chain through the addition of a new foundry partner with significant capacity in the United States and Europe, according to Intel.

MediaTek is currently a key supplier to almost all major smartphone makers, including Samsung Electronics, Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi, as well as networking equipment maker Cisco. The Taiwanese mobile chip developer said it has long adopted a “multi-sourcing strategy” and that it will continue to maintain a “close partnership with TSMC in advanced process nodes.” In response to the deal, TSMC told Nikkei Asia that MediaTek is a longtime customer with a strong partnership in advanced technology. “

There is no impact on TSMC’s business with MediaTek,” the company said. Last year, Intel detailed its “IDM 2.0” strategy to catch rivals TSMC and Samsung by 2025, kicking it off with a US$20 billion investment in two Arizona fabrication plants. Intel said IFS is differentiated from other foundry offerings with a combination of leading-edge process and packaging technology, a “world-class” IP portfolio, and committed capacity in the US and Europe.

The Intel announcement is interesting. They need to fill the neuromorphic AI gap in their portfolio, after ARM's ecosystem also offer Brainchip. What is really interesting is that Intel doesn´t offer their Loihi as IP blocks, now that they became a foundry. It means that they either are not confident enough in Loihi yet or that they are not willing to shift strategy or possibly both.

So, when are Synopsys joining the party? That could be huge.

Do Brainchip have any IP licensing through TSMC? Or do they only make the chips at TSMC?

From Brainchip´s perspective it´s only a win to be in as many ecosystems as possible and it only makes sense to be diversified in this risky world, where Taiwan is threatened by China.

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--What’s New: Intel Foundry Services (IFS) today launched Accelerator, a comprehensive ecosystem alliance designed to help foundry customers smoothly bring their silicon products from idea to implementation. Through deep collaboration with a group of industry-leading companies across electronic design automation (EDA), intellectual property (IP) and design services, IFS Accelerator taps the best capabilities available in the industry to help advance customer innovation on Intel’s foundry manufacturing platform.

“A vibrant semiconductor design ecosystem is critical to the success of our foundry. We are pleased to launch our ecosystem alliance program with leading design companies that will play a vital role in accelerating our foundry customers’ success.”

–Pat Gelsinger, Intel CEO
How It Works: IFS launched Accelerator’s preliminary phase in September 2021 to help automotive chip designers transition to more advanced process technologies by offering both custom and industry-standard intellectual property. With today’s comprehensive launch of the IFS Accelerator – including 17 founding partner companies – the ecosystem alliance is enhanced with full support from electronic design automation and design services providers, as well as a broad library of IP offerings from a range of partners.
The IFS Accelerator provides a comprehensive suite of tools for customers:
  • The most powerful and validated EDA solutions optimized for Intel’s leadership technology and manufacturing, covering the full spectrum from concept to high-volume silicon production.
  • A comprehensive, silicon-verified, and Intel process-specific IP portfolio, including standard cell libraries, embedded memories, general purpose I/Os, analog IP and interface IP.
  • Design services partners that allow customers to focus on creating unique product ideas, assigning implementation tasks to rigorously trained designers well-versed on Intel technology.
Why It’s Important: These three capabilities are the foundation of customer interaction with a foundry manufacturing partner. EDA suppliers produce tools that assist in the specification, planning, design, verification, implementation and testing of electronic systems. Collaborating closely with EDA partners allows customers to co-optimize and enhance tools and flows so chip designers can best realize their performance, power and area (PPA) goals, while accelerating their time to market.

“Foundry customers need access to design services, IP, and tools and flows to enable their next-generation products in different stages,” said Randhir Thakur, president of Intel Foundry Services. “With the goal of accelerating customer innovation, the IFS Accelerator ecosystem alliance program brings together the brightest minds and the broadest capabilities to deliver a seamless interface with Intel’s process and packaging technologies. We are entering a new era of openness in technology, and Intel is wholeheartedly embracing the idea that innovation thrives in an open and collaborative environment.”
Designing products with integrated and reusable circuit IP blocks has become a significant trend as system-on-chip (SoC) design has grown increasingly complex. IP partners collaborate with IFS to enable designers to access high-quality IP that aligns with their aggressive design and project schedule requirements. The IFS Accelerator IP portfolio includes essential IP blocks needed for modern SoCs – all optimized for IFS technologies.
Designing the next generation of semiconductor products requires skilled engineering talent and resources, especially when working with leading-edge process technologies. Partnering with IFS Accelerator design service providers gives customers options for additional support when bringing their ideas to life, with specialties ranging from analog and digital physical designs to low-level system software. Depending on a customer’s needs, the silicon experts from the alliance partners can assist in different stages, including design, verification, implementation, and emulation.
Leveraging the capabilities of this ecosystem is more important than ever as the demand for semiconductors grows across markets and applications. IFS is making its technology platforms available to these partners to ensure the pace of innovation moves forward at a torrid pace. Read more about Intel’s renewed commitment to openness in Thakur’s editorial, “Innovation Starts Here: Partnering to Power the Foundry Ecosystem.”

Who’s Involved: The IFS Accelerator features innovative partner companies across each of the three pillars of the program:
  • EDA Alliance: Ansys, Cadence, Siemens EDA, Synopsys
  • IP Alliance: Alphawave, Analog Bits, Andes, Arm, Cadence, eMemory, M31, SiFive, Silicon Creations, Synopsys, Vidatronic
  • Design Services Alliance: Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Wipro
For more details and supporting quotes from these partners, please see “Building an Open Ecosystem.”

One thing is for sure ... the share price would not be at 64.5c if it had been announced as it should have on the ASX. I find it mind numbingly stupid that the company couldn't fashion a legitimate ASX announcement out of this news.

I'm thinking that BRN's cone of silence stance is there is because it doesn't want anyoneor everyone to know exactly who is using our IP just so as to satisfy the principle of " keeping things at an arms length seperation" and maintaing confidential industrial materials from our other customers and I would also think that many of our IP users are keeping our IP well under raps (deep cover) so that other competitors of theirs don't even know or even realise what they are exactly up to ............. imo, by us BRN keeping silent we will most likely put us in good stead with customers which I hope will be well and truely reflected and rewarded in the 4C financials.
