BRN Discussion Ongoing

True but they are one company and there are now many seasoned competitors with established sales networks and historically rusted on customers and China is an unstable market for any manufacturer to depend on and it is racing ahead with its own home grown brands to compete with Tesla in China. It would be quite silly to think that the race Tesla has been winning is the one it will be running in between now and 2030.

We constantly concern ourselves here with potential competitors even though we have a three year lead extending to 5 years either presently or shortly so why would the same concerns not have application to Tesla.

I was reading recently that there are Tesla owners who are now so disenchanted by Mr. Musk that they have said while they love their Tesla vehicle when they come to replace it they will happily look at other comparable brands.

I wrote such a witty and cunning response, but when I posted it, it got scrambled up, so I deleted it so as not to cause confusion. What a pity, it was more cunning than a fox that had just been appointed the Professor of Cunning at Oxford university.

I would have received so many likes that I probably would have wanted to see myself naked. You have to read the article to understand that reference.

But alas, the ether distorted my words, throwing most of them to the nether regions, or maybe I pressed a wrong key, and all is now lost like a good fart in a strong breeze.

Compare and contrast:
The combined vision processing solution will be co-marketed by both companies and commercialized by SynSense for addressing IoT and Smart Home detection and gesture control applications

By combining our Metavision solution with Akida-based IP, we are better able to deliver a complete high-performance and ultra-low power solution to OEMs

So has automotive been omitted from the Prophesee/Synsense partnership?
That is my belief particularly when you go to Synsense's web page and all of the claimed uses. When you read the narratives they are being worked on or developed none suggest they are ready maybe this a ploy to put of customers because they have too many already.

More seriously though the use in motor vehicles is being explored/developed by SynSense and Prophesee is already marketing Metavision solutions with Xperi and Terranet in this space and these solutions would be greatly enhanced by AKIDA as Prophesee states itself.

No inside knowledge just going by what the words seem to be saying to the reader.

Methinks it's time for AccaDacca to come out of the closet. You see, AC/DC were in fact the original AI/VR/Sensor developers.

They wrote their code in very efficient machine languages, which were referred to as "Melody" and "Lyrics". Started out analog, but wow, check out their digital remixes.

Their titles and IP are truly legendary...and to the point, serving to illustrate their efficiency at the EDGE (of the stage). For instance, "Highway to Hell" was a very clear warning to Elon Musk to reconsider the technology in AutoPilot. "You Shook Me All Night Long" was an early attempt at Vibration Analysis. "Back in Black" was a letter to the ASX, pointing out that Growth was not a 4-letter word. "It's a Long Way To The Top" was written as a tribute to the early academic achievements of Peter van der Made. "BIg Gun" was an early version of IP for a military drone. And one of their last was "Dirty Deeds Done Cheap", aimed squarely at certain HC denizens. Finally, revealing their sense of humanity "If You Want Blood (you've got it)" illustrated their commitment in Medicine.

AC/DC - truly great thinkers...and drinkers!

Again I have a different opinion to yours in the regard to competition. Firstly "the new entrants have the problems Tesla had 6-10 years ago, that is ramping production without going bankrupt" Musk I think is right in saying it is/was a nightmare. Secondly, the incumbent auto makers are carrying massive debts and burdens ( health care/ retirement obligations ). VW has near $200 billion, Ford and GM over $100b each., Mercedes about $140b debt. Now they have to repurpose the current factories or build new ones for the EV switch. That is going to be a massive investment required. All companies also have too source batteries and materials required for them, which as I understand Tesla has 5 battery manufacturers as well as in-house as well as mining contracts. Then there is the lead Tesla has in manufacturing tech, it takes approximately 10 hours to produce a model 3, and it takes VW 37 hours to produce a ID4 according to the previous VW CEO.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not totally sold on the way Elon Musk conducts himself, but have to give him credit on what he and his staff have achieved. All the critics over the last 10 years have trumpeted constantly about how the competition is coming..... The competition I see is out of China, ie BYD who produces more EV's when including hybrids but less pure EV's than Tesla as well as being the 3rd biggest battery manufacturer.

I have been comparing by close analysis the following two announcements.

The first announcement extract is from the Brainchip Prophesee press release.

The second announcement is from the SynSense Prophesee press release.

We have had much discussion on the first but not on the second but there is in my opinion a valuable insight to be had by doing so.

In the Brainchip Prophesee release Prophesee states “By combining our Metavision solution with Akida-based IP, we are better able to deliver a complete high-performance and ultra-low power solution to OEMs”… This is a clear statement that responsibility for the marketing and commercialisation falls entirely to Prophesee. As we all would expect as the CEO Sean Hehir has removed all doubt that Brainchip is pure and simple an IP seller it does not make chips or sensors full stop.

Whereas in the press release by SynSense and Prophesee
the following is stated “The combined vision processing solution will be co-marketed by both companies and commercialized by SynSense for addressing IoT and Smart Home detection and gesture control applications”. The commercialisation of their combined solution falls entirely to SynSense and is restricted to the IOT and Smarthome markets for detection and gesture control.

The difference is with respect between these to arrangements is highly significant or as Big Kev would say HUGE.

Prophesee has seen such value in AKIDA they have taken on all the responsibility for commercialisation and has not placed any restrictions on the markets where it will be offered to OEMs.

While on the other hand Prophesee has said to SynSense yes you can use our sensor and try to commercialise it in the IOT and Smarthome markets for detection and gesture and you can market our name with your solution.

These two partnerships are chalk (SynSense) and the best aged cheddar with a fine wine (Brainchip) in comparison.

Brainchip Prophesee joint press release (extract):

“We’ve successfully ported the data from Prophesee’s neuromorphic-based camera sensor to process inference on Akida with impressive performance,” said Anil Mankar, Co-Founder and CDO of BrainChip. “This combination of intelligent vision sensors with Akida’s ability to process data with unparalleled efficiency, precision and economy of energy at the point of acquisition truly advances state-of-the-art AI enablement and offers manufacturers a ready-to-implement solution.”

“By combining our Metavision solution with Akida-based IP, we are better able to deliver a complete high-performance and ultra-low power solution to OEMs looking to leverage edge-based visual technologies as part of their product offerings, said Luca Verre, CEO and co-founder of Prophesee.”

SynSense Prophesee press release (extract):

“Prophesee broke new ground with the industry first commercial neuromorphic-based vision sensing platform. Its Metavision solutions use an event-based vision approach which delivers significant improvement over traditional frame-based acquisition methods, reducing power and data processing requirements while allowing operation in the most demanding conditions.

Through this partnership SynSense will benefit from Prophesee’s sensing technology and wide existing network of partners. Prophesee will benefit from deep integration with SynSense’s novel processing technology, and world-leading developments in low-power vision applications.
Event-based vision is a paradigm-shifting advancement that is based on how the human eye records and interprets visual inputs. The sensors facilitate machine vision by recording changes in the scene rather than recording the entire scene at regular intervals. Specific advantages over frame-based approaches include better low light response (<1lux) and dynamic range (>120dB), reduced data generation (10x-1000x less than conventional approaches) leading to lower transfer/processing requirements, and higher temporal resolution (microsecond time resolution, i.e. >10k images per second time resolution equivalent).
With Prophesee’s patented Event-Based Metavision sensors, each pixel embeds its own intelligence processing enabling them to activate themselves independently, triggering events.

The partnership will address the design, development, manufacturing and commercialization of the combined neuromorphic technology, including sensors, processing solutions, software and solutions to enable a broad range of applications

The combined vision processing solution will be co-marketed by both companies and commercialized by SynSense for addressing IoT and Smart Home detection and gesture control applications."

We all know thanks to @Diogenese that the SynSense solution might have a place but not as a competitor with Brainchip's AKIDA technology as it is very much a poor man's attempt at CNN neuromorphic computation.

This has been clearly recognised by Prophesee as while happy for SynSense to have a go they have recognised that Brainchip's AKIDA allows them to be "better able to deliver a complete high-performance and ultra-low power solution to OEMs looking to leverage edge-based visual technologies as part of their product offerings"

Howdy All,

I've previously speculated whether we might be the third party IP shown in the second generation Armv9 architecture (as shown above).

So it was with interest that I read through this recent announcement from Synopsys regarding the second generation Armv9 architecture.

Synopsys announced "that its design, verification and IP solutions are optimized to deliver maximum performance-per-watt for the latest Arm®v9 architecture-based SoCs. Synopsys' leading EDA and IP solutions combined with the new Arm Immortalis™ and Mali™ GPUs and Arm Cortex®-A and Cortex-X CPUs address the specialized processing demands of high-performance computing applications, complementing the Arm Total Compute Solutions approach to SoC design."

I think it may have been @Fullmoonfever, who has previously questioned whether there is some sort of link between Arm, Synopsys and BrainChip?? There was an article that @Fact Finder posted #6,882 where Markus Willems, Senior Product Manager at Synopsys spoke very enthusiastically about Neural Network based approaches and sensor fusion. And I know that Rob Telson liked a Synopsys link fairly recently (below) and wondered whether there were any other links that have been missed.

Needless to say, it would be very exciting if we are all involved in some way with the second gen Armv9 architecture as it seems to be off to a successful start with the announcement also stating "Early adopters of the new cores have successfully taped out multiple SoCs, achieving optimum power, performance and area (PPA) targets using Synopsys' solutions."

One of the things I have harped on about no doubt to the chagrin of the more sophisticated investors here is the importance of the Annual General Meeting Addresses by the Chairman and the CEO.

Their importance derives from the fact that they are recorded in print and are published on the ASX with the classification price sensitive.

This means that if some material change occurs a further announcement is required to be made on the ASX.

So with this in mind I would like to commend the following extracted paragraphs from the address of the CEO Sean Hehir to you:

“When I started to evaluate joining BrainChip I started with the technology. Being a Silicon Valley based executive I had easy access to some of the world’s best technical minds who I engaged to evaluate the core technology. The overwhelming feedback was the technology is visionary in its design, unparalleled in flexibility, and transformative in performance…

Furthermore, I started to examine the quality of the engagements with some of the world’s leading brands and the trust/promise they saw in BrainChip which further encouraged me to join this amazing company“

So dwell on these points:

1. The CEO sort the opinions of some of the best technical minds in Silicon Valley,

2. These minds overwhelmingly concluded AKIDA technology was:
a) Visionary in design,
b) Unparalleled in flexibility, and
c) Transformative in performance.

3. Brainchip was engaged with some of the worlds leading brands, and

4. These brands trusted Brainchip and saw the promise which its technology offers.

The AGM was in May of this year and we are now in September with ARM offering AKIDA across just about every technology area use case.

The absence of an ASX announcement modifying these price sensitive statements about AKIDA and the physical manifestation of these statements to be found in the ARM product offering for AKIDA IP and the brand ARM supports their continuing validity.

So while we look for further proof of what different companies such as Synopsys might be doing with AKIDA technology IP the price sensitive statements of the CEO Sean Hehir make it very difficult to reject the evidence of Brainchip appearing in an image on page 33 of the Synopsys report as being anything other than highly significant and likely proof of an engagement.

The Brainchip AKIDA technology is just too good for it not to be so.

It makes no sense for it to be otherwise.

If all the dots alluding to BrainChip, having something to do with Synopsis, were spots on a Dalmated Dingo..
It would start looking a bit like this.. 😛
_20220906_172620.JPG

It's not a big stretch at all, to suggest we're dealing with them..

It's definitely curious, that they would use an image of "old" BrainChip tech, but it would be completely unprofessional of them, to use an image randomly, with an A.I. Companie's name on it.

Seeing as Synopsis are dealing with the Top companies in many fields (as outlined by Bravo) I think that kind of mistake, is unlikely..

The BrainChip Story.
Always Exciting!
