One of the reasons I self manage.
Can't wait to see my acct when i get back to sort out my finances, most if it is pnl name and the rest in Hostplus. I wasnt smart enough before i left to set something else up and i think in back of my mind was dreading smsf as i heard there is lots of regulsr paperwork? (though i can wait to get back cause enjoying my tine in u.k ):)

respectfully stocks like zip are destined to be traded instead of invested for long term. I have always been critical to this BNPL industry and specially to the companies that were trying to follow APT's path. however this is my opinion only. Instos have various different strategies in making money. Jp morgan has been much more investor to BRN in my view, here is the broker data from march 2021 to 03/02/2022, if you pay attention to it buy and sell volume and the net bought $, you can come up with your own judgement about whether they are investing in brn for longer term. same to the other instos like UBS, instinenomura, macquarie instos, citigroup, morrison and etc

i don't think so. I don't really think retail investor will be major short seller to brn. it is just broker for the retail investors. my understanding from this read is that many retail investor has took their profit all the way from 70c to 2.30. and in fact, many of my friends has been selling their part of entire holding of Brainchip before the SP even reached $1.20. Even myself have sold my short term portion at average of $1.39. I have not sold one single share away from my long term portion though, which was 83% of my entire brn holdings.
Thanks for the clarification Stan🍺

What a coincidence!!! JP Morgan is the second largest shareholder of TMH.

So... the massive buying potentially driven by short covering (allegedly) ... and also happens to have a large stake in the company that tried to smash our company (allegedly)... how interesting.

My Accountant does all the hard lifting as far as running the SMSF. I just sign the paperwork once a year and buy and sell shares as I see fit.

@stan9614 , I'm curious about something. Are you able to tell, or do you have an opinion, if these instos are trading for their own accounts or accumulating for mutual funds they are managing?

Here is the ASX Short positions as of 9 FEB 2022.

You will note that Borrowed Outstanding stock (GROSS) is 49 mil
and that Borrowed Outstanding Stock (NET) is 40 Mil

Outstanding Borrowed Stock as a value is 2.34% of Total MC.

Shorts have been closed significantly with not much really remaining. Would be better if there were none but.............wait for the next news Announcement.

hi, FF:
HC has been more and more difficult to engage into more productive and informative discussion. and finally someone took the initiate to create this troll free forum. Totally agreed with what your said on your other post. We always love alternative views and genuine discussion and debate with certain degree of facts or logic as back up. And I hope this how is new forum will grow into.
Hi Stan
I just read through the last eight or so posts in this thread and it was a delight. What used to annoy me greatly was you would post as you have just straight forward data which had straight forward value and the trolls would descend and break up the continuity and just drive one away from the central theme which always was the data/facts tell the truth about what is happening. It was just so obvious that this was being done. Great place to be but just like our own home it is our collective responsibility to keep these threads clean.

Your continuing generosity is greatly appreciated.

My opinion only DYOR

You can also just move it to a fund that let's you choose your investment stock. Lots out there that let you choose ASX 300 stocks. Qsuper for example

yes I've done that but ive exceeded the 20% rule with hostplus in any one stock which is Brn (of course:)) so for me that's not enough and they have other weird rules which now 20k is stuck in limbo cash that i can select myself. does qsuper have a 20% rule haven't look the rules up there hence i might need to upgrade self fund..

QSuper lets you self invest 85% of your total super balance. 15% must stay in your usual balanced, growth, cash options etc. Of that 85%, you can invest up to 25% of that in any one stock. So that actually makes it 21.25% really. They also do not lend for shorting which is a plus and are merging with Sun Super to make them the biggest fund in Australia. LOL sounds like a sales pitch. Maybe I'll get a commission.

Do you know if you can move from Aus Super to Q Super and if you can invest in small caps in Q Super as Aus Super don't allow it.
