Hope you don’t mind me going a little off topic here with a tipping comp @zeeb0t . Although it’s aligned with the BRN share price if that helps.

Thought I’d get in early to give everyone a chance to sign up and do some study before the first game kicks off in a month.

I’m happy to donate 3,000 BRN as the total prize money. Will sell them on Mon 5th Sep at the open, after the last home and away game is finished that weekend and then distribute the cash as follows:

1st prize – 60%

2nd prize – 20%

3rd prize – 10%

4th prize – 5%

5th prize – 5%

Will pay in bitcoin for anonymity…or open to suggestions.

Only a couple of rules – you must be a BrainChip shareholder and you must use the username from this chat forum when you enter.

I’m sure we’ve got a mix of AFL and NRL purists…so to make it fair to all I’m making it a combined AFL and NRL tipping comp. Winners are based on the total combined AFL and NRL tipping scores.

Register here…. Akida Ballista Tipping Comp

Password: Akida

Note that the name you enter may appear alongside your username on the site, so use initials, make it up or leave it blank if you want to remain anonymous.

I’m also running an AFL Supercoach league if anyone’s interested (no prize money) - AFL Supercoach

For our overseas friends…you’ve got something else to start researching now…

Happy tipping. Looking forward to a healthy share price come September! And go the mighty Pies!!!

Cheers,

Butcherano.
Hey Butcherano,
many thanks for starting these comps and putting up the prizes-good karma to you mate. As a Dee's supporter life is good.....

May I just put it out there that your tipping comp rules state that if a tipper fails to place their tips they get the away teams.

"Miss your tips, receive the away teams.

Anyone who doesn't submit tips before a match begins will be awarded the away teams. Learn More"

I ran a tipping comp last season where a significant amount of games were played at either neutral or away grounds that would of been played at home grounds. Some teams did not play a home game for many weeks. This gave forgetful tippers some assistance and as such the rules were altered to "Miss your tips, receive zero". Covid will most likely cause this to occur again this season.

Can this be considered for this years comps please

Cheers

Cheers @Sotherbys01 . Yeah that’s what I’ve got it set up as at the moment. You get the away teams if you forget to put your tips in. The other option I was thinking of was that you get the average score for the round minus 1. Might put a poll up closer to the first round and get a consensus.

Its your tipping comp mate, either way is fine by me. Can't wait for the season to start, especially when we kick dog arse again on 16 March

That's handy especially in the first few rounds of the season when there always seems to be a number of upsets. So having all the away teams early on may happen to be just as effective as picking all the home teams.

Nice and early…I like it. Although if you tipped St.Kilda against my boys then I’m going to need you to go away and do some more research. You’ve still got a few weeks to come to your senses!…🤪

Lol, I grew up in Melbourne. How could I choose the pies to beat St.Kilda?

Could be in for a long season JK.

I’m not expecting much from my team, The Adelaide Crows. Tragically their hopes died with the great Phil Walsh.

Adelaide have rarely been able to hold their talent for long enough to build a premiership team, which to me points to a culture issue.
Football is such a passionate game that if you’re happy you stay to play with your mates.

Luckily I just enjoy a good game regardless of who’s playing and there will be some awesome battles this year!

I’m also going to be quietly supporting the Gold Coast to at least make the eight this year. Their list finally looks competitive and they deserve a break.

Can barely name a team in the Rugby so I’m screwed there!

Sotherbys01,

Whichever team is listed first in the official draw which ESPN will use is always the home team no matter where they play ie in AFL Darwin, Alice Springs, Cairns, Hobart etc. They also get the home team changing rooms if they do play on a neutral ground. They're normally larger.

I vote keep using the away team if you forget to enter your tips.

There serious question for all - Will you tip against your team?

Go Pies.
Thank you Butch - great idea. It'll while away the time waiting between announcements....
Bad idea - not sure I can bet against the Pies! But if the Board and players dick around off-field like last year then I just may. Seriously, I'm angry just thinking about 2021!
