"We've been told they've already put in an offer. If that's true and we haven't heard about it, then it's a lowball."Tshisekedi will be worried about more the the exposure of Cominiere and Dathomir re: denying AVZ the mining license.
IMO he will be exposed himself. He either benefited directly, or is protecting others he has benefited from in others lest they expose him.
His inaction during this whole thing speaks for itself.
Re: KoBold. They will absolutely do what they can, to get as much as they can, whlie payiing as little as they can.
We've been told they've already put in an offer. If that's true and we haven't heard about it, then it's a lowball.
They did gain access to our cores while consorting with the enemy, and are certainly not a friend.
ICSID may be in our favour re: setting a value if we eventually win. However, we will still have difficulties collecting any award, and other companies have had to settle for less than the award to actually get any cash.
Difficulties in collecting any award means we aren't guaranteed KoBold or anyone else will offer us that much.
Any amount offered will be weighed against risk of winning at ICSID, time in the courts, and difficulty of collection.
Not to mention the geopolitical risk associated with changes in Governments at either end in the meantime if this drags out. If anything happens to Trump or Tshidekedi electorally or healthwise in the meantime everything could change.
Thx mate but going to need more hard liquor when we winWhen we win I'll make you a case of home-made hard lemon squash mate..
Cheers.
Thirty Three, till the Third Degree.
I hope this is the final catalyst for Kobold or anyone interested to start putting serious offers in. Once this is signed you’d think that buying Manono off AVZ is significantly derisked so let the genuine offers roll in. ICSID is a good negotiating stick to have but personally would rather not go through years and years of trying to get money from a broke nation.DRC-USA: Félix Tshisekedi expected in Washington to finalize the partnership with the Trump administration

The Congolese Head of State, Félix Tshisekedi is expected in Washington this Thursday, May 1, 2025 for the confirmation and finalization of the DRC-USA partnership, after its validation by the Oval Office.
This is indicated by a press release published on Tuesday, April 29 by the US Department of State in charge of African affairs, which evokes a decisive turning point in what it describes as the "agreement of the century".
This partnership provides for the exploitation of mineral resources in the Democratic Republic of Congo in return for securing the east of the country, as well as a massive investment in infrastructure, estimated at nearly US$500 billion over a period of 15 years.
If the forces close to the power of Kinshasa are already welcoming this agreement, some voices of the opposition and civil society call on Félix Tshisekedi's regime to be cautious, in order to avoid selling out national wealth in a logic of remaining in power.

Fingers crossed things about to get serious
See this is what is so perplexing about Kobold advocating to not antagonise China and allowing them to illegally keep the north as part of any deal. The only downside, however, stems from heavy U.S. involvement and let’s be honest, their primary motivation is to shut out the Chinese, who would otherwise be the main competition.
