So the Africa battery council is using lithium supplied from Albemarle? WTF!
Jesus Don't tell me they are going to give Manono to Albemarle now. I wouldn't put it past these corrupt pricks. In all seriousness though all relationships in drc for avz seem to have soured under the weight of the corrupt government. Even the battery council now by the looks of it.

Can somebody remind me how great management are again before I start thinking about how all they managed to achieve over the past 10 months of suspension is to have our licence revoked? Thanks.

What do you mean mate? They must be good look at what they get paid!! And they’ve got time left over to manage consult and invest in AJN! They are not just a bunch of well connected nepo babies with posh accents they are worth their value! Because they called it for what it was nothing but “spirilous claims”. That have not held us for this entire time and attracted the attention of government and required us to go to icc. My 2 year old could do a better job!!

The Americans are in the DRC having discussions with MoM about buying 10 mining projects - hopefully they’ll have a chat with her re supporting the Manono Lithium & Tin project while they have her attention.

DRC: The United States brings 10 mining projects and is working on a possible "secure" cooperation of Congolese minerals

The representative of the United States of America in the mining sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Benjamin SKOLNIK, accompanied by members of his delegation working in the American International Development Agency USAID, spoke with Mining Minister Antoinette N'samba about a possible "secure" cooperation of Congolese minerals.

These were received by the Minister of Mines on Thursday, February 16, 2023 in her working cabinet in Kinshasa, said the communication department of the said ministry.

During these exchanges, ten (10) projects were at the center of their discussions, two of which focused on the exploitation and export of "clean" gold, according to the same source.

"The United States of America is considering the exploitation and exploration of responsible and secure gold, i.e. own gold," explained Benjamin SKOLNIK at the end of these exchanges.

However, the United States expects to support the Congolese mining sector so that everything takes place in traceability on the one hand, and on the other hand, so that American companies undertake to buy gold from the DRC in order to fight against illicit trade in this sector.

The United States stands alongside the DRC to strengthen the capacity of artisanal farmers, promote exploitation and export under conditions that meet international standards in the mining sector in general and the gold field in particular, this American representative in the Congolese mining sector suggested.

Maybe I'm over thinking this but:

I wonder if FT is playing a very big and very long game?

The US had been around for months publicly. Anyone on these threads has seen posts about them, FT and Biden etc, etc.

I would posit that it's a relationship that has been building for much longer and is much further advanced than public announcements would imply.

So if he let's the yanks in before the elections then they will require certain cast iron guarantees about all sorts of things which would make it impossible for a future government to renege.

Additionally, they would want agreements around security. The best way to guarantee your own security is to provide it yourself. That's what armed forces are for.

If there was some US military presence it may help stabilise the rebel areas, though the whole country seems like the wild west to me. Win for FT with little effort.

It would also allow the US to claim DRC as theirs in this global push for dominance over our Chinese friends.
Chinese have done it with the Solomon Islands for example.

If any of this conjecture is anywhere near to being accurate then it may help explain the threats to DRC from Z and the Chinese Embassy dicking themselves recently.
As I said, I see those actions as reflecting a perception of their own weakness by the Chinese.

Maybe I'm over thinking this.
Or dreaming.

I have good authority (obe wan) that the ICC arbitration hearings are scheduled for April 2023.

I originally thought it was May, based on Tom Richardson's information. How stupid (Note to self: gouge out eyes with a stick).

Cheers

Fuck me...do Zijin, Boatman, Tommy and the whole AFR just have a fucking trust fund or something set up to finance this shit???

It's almost like the AFR is fully manipulated and financed by Chinese interests......

What a grub you would be and feel working for an organisation like that

DRC has no qualms about sourcing information from "Australia Government's Future Batteries Industry CRC" but refusing to follow the law with a corruption-free Australian company.

Not sure how accurate that slide is. Albemarle has no interest or asset in Africa:

Same goes with Vale, no asset or interest in Africa:

And in case anyone is wondering which company has the green logo next to BHP, it's Jinchuan Mining.
