yep exactly my sentiments. are avz just fucking up or is there some big conspiracy going on to screw avz over, all masterminded by xi himself? evidence to date suggests its more like the latter but ffs, as you say why cant this be easy. I suppose with the asset avz are stuck in the middle of a much larger fight. all I know is I want my money and to get the fuck out of this forum, no offence to the people on it. Honestly Nigel couldn't make it any easier for these pricks . Kobold /Rio pay AVZ to drop all legal proceedings/outcomes against the DRC and walk away . DRC collects $$Millions in Tax from AVZ . If they were not a bunch of corrupt compromised criminals this would be a no brainer .
AVZ Wins Legal Battle Over Congo Lithium Project, but it’s not Over yet
After years of frustrating legal battles and suspended trading, AVZ Minerals (ASX: AVZ) shareholders finally received a major boost this week.
For those unfamiliar with the AVZ story, strap in. This is one of the longest-running sagas in ASX history.
AVZ Minerals discovered what turned out to be the world’s biggest hard rock lithium deposit in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Manono project was once valued at billions, with major partners lined up and financing secured. Then everything fell apart.
Permits were withheld, partners disputed ownership, and eventually the DRC awarded the mining licence to a Chinese company – a move AVZ argues was unlawful. Shareholders have been trapped for years, unable to trade their stock.
This week, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) tribunal has ruled in favour of AVZ’s subsidiary, confirming its legal acquisition of an additional 10% stake in Dathcom Mining SA under the 2020 share purchase agreement.
This brings AVZ’s legal holding in the world-class Manono lithium and tin project to at least 70%.
The tribunal also dismissed all claims from Dathomir Mining Resources, including attempts to nullify the transaction and seek additional compensation.
This decision strongly supports AVZ’s long-standing position and provides a clearer path forward to regain control over its Congolese asset, and potential do a deal with the likes of the Bill Gates-backed Kobold metals to exit Manono.
But just as things were looking up, there was another legal curveball. AVZ got hit with a writ from Locke Capital LLC in WA’s Supreme Court, claiming owed fees totalling US$1.2 million. While AVZ said it will defend itself against the new claim, it just goes to show that nothing’s ever simple in this long-running saga.
For shareholders, many of whom have been trapped for over three years without any ability to trade on market, this week’s arbitration victory is a big step forward. Here’s hoping it leads to some kind of resolution for everyone involved.

Best thing that could happen to DRC is US to take over governance. Corruption has lead them to this. The entire government should be strung up in the streets.

DRC and M23 didn't reach an agreement over the weekend and reportedly there are no current plans to reinitiate discussions in Doha.

They are only after 1.2m USD.... that is hardly taking the asset. That said prison rules, cant let anyone get one over on your or all of a sudden you are holding someones pocket being sold and passed around. Gotta Fight.
Same problem as Vietnam... how do you tell who is who? Also While the threat is still there I am sure US has more leverage in the negotiations.... if DRC end up being especially duplicitous (like they have treated us) the US might want to use the rebels for regime change or to illicit a more reasonable position/attitude.
This is business... Chinese, US, DRC, M23 they are all on the other side of the table to us until a deal is reached.
Does anyone else not think its actually in our best interests for M23 not to just fuk off straight away? It's kinda one of the big bargaining chips to force DRC to not fuk everyone over.
Peace deal moves things in the right direction by (notionally) taking Rwanda out of the mix, but I don't want DRC getting anything more until they also bring something to the table.
