"Democrat Republic of the Congo" LOL I love Trump's gaffes!

"Additional signings to come, which will be known as the Washington Accord"

Trump: "Why isn't it called the Trump Accord?" LOL

Love him or hate him, you can't deny the pure entertainment value

"Long-term" US investment mentioned, 'not only mining' with down stream processing and the Lobito corridor. Very promising this is mentioned even during this peace signing as a US priority.

I like how Trump starts by basically reminding them the US can kill anyone , anywhere at anytime . Then comments on them having some of the best earth in the world , but what he really wants more than anything is peace . Hope Celestin Kibeya sees this video. Trumps gonna want that big beautiful piece of earth called Roche Dure .

Full text Reuters article below, including the next step, Economic Agreement (see bolded text in the body of text).

Kinshasa and Kigali will also launch a regional economic integration framework within 90 days, the agreement said.

Spike's gonna need to make a new counter

You can't beat the first two minutes of that video when the DRC reporter is pissing in his pocket and then he flirts with her. It is gold.

So in reading all of the above it seems we could have to wait up to 3 months to have the minerals deal signed. We are definately moving in the right direction i guess but shit another 3 months is gunna be tough to handle

The signing of this deal and the framework surrounding has definitely increased my expected value. The question is what is the line that AVZ can hold out and still get USA good will. The answer isn't $12 unfortunately.

I thought the additional agreements might be signed in July when both Tshisekedi and Kagame are in Washington with Trump for the signing ceremony 🤔

What's next?

As others have reported, Friday's peace agreement gives the DRC and Rwanda three months to launch a framework to expand foreign trade and investment derived from regional critical mineral supply chains. This framework will be signed off by heads of state in Washington at a later (unspecified) date.

My understanding is that this agreement is the basis of the minerals-for-security agreement. The Lobito Corridor investment and agreement is separate, but clearly integrates with the economic agreement. Let's hope it all falls into place and integrates seamlessly. However, anything involving the DRC is generally fucked-up.

With things falling into place (at least on paper), hopefully the proposed purchase of AVZ's interest in the Manono project can progress.

Unfortunately, the DRC refuses to negotiate with AVZ because it does not recognise AVZ as the holder of PR13359. It wants negotiations to occur between KoBold and Cominiere only. On the other hand, KoBold wants to negotiate with AVZ, rather than Cominiere because it recognises AVZ's rights over Manono. The recommencement of ICSID arbitration potentially exposures the DRC to billions in compensation when it's systematic corruption is made public and it loses big time. Now is the time for Felix-the-corrupt to step up and show some backbone and leadership.

Cheers
F

Yeah this below taken from the Reuters article

There is an understanding that progress in ongoing talks in Doha - a separate but parallel mediation effort with delegations from the Congolese government and M23 - is essential before the signing of the economic framework, the source said.

This really is an unknown. From memory it has previously been mentioned that the talks in Doha had stalled.

Further to my previous post i have gone back and reread the Kobold press release re sales agreement and the subsequent AVZ announcement and it does not definitively state that the finalising of the agreement is beholden to the peace accord and minerals deal being signed and in fact it could be construed to say the sale is a part of and supportive of the process itself
Either way given Cominieres ,Cami, minister for mines et al refusal to engage with AVZ an executive order by Felix will be required to finalise the deal. Regardless of the Geopolitical situation Felix has got AVZ hot on his arse with the ICSID case. I think the pending trial date is probably the most important thing. Previously was 2nd June but now unknown ??

Now that the peace deal is in place and factoring how hostile DRC is to AVZ, 1-2 years in court to prove our rights all while massive investment pours into the DRC to derisk the area, kind of aligns much better for a competitive sale process over the current super secret "you cant know the details take this offer its your last chance" type of sale.

Haha, Felix-the-corrupt attending a humanitarian conference with his arch-enemy, Rwanda's president Paul Kagame.

I'm glad it's after the signing of the peace accord, because it could get interesting once they've had a few.

Why does Macron need to get involved?
Best that he stays out of the DRC issues as from what I have seen lately, he is incompetent.
