The Ministerial Decree to award the Mining Licence covers the entirety of the Roche Dure JORC Mineral Resource and Reserve2&3 and the Carriere de l’Este exploration target4

• An area which was excluded under the Ministerial Decree to award the Mining Licence, will be renewed under a 5-year Exploration Licence to Dathcom, with discussions regarding the terms of the ongoing joint venture under discussion with the DRC Government.

It is in the ASX announcement mate, no tricks, all above board.
At the end of the day AVZ is not Zijin.
👍,I think the license is very close based on they suddenly talking about this today

Did any one see what David and Jcar say in Twitter?

Looks like that is the reason for the suspension.

My interpretation is the mining license only covers the area Dathcom explored. Those unexplored area is still explore permit and required to be renew. The license area include Roche Dure and maybe a little part of the CDL. A large part of CDL is not included.

But maybe I am wrong and it is another unreasonable move by DRC?
So are you saying at this stage we may only have rights to 400mil tonne high grade with potential 1 billion tonnes ? I'm devastated .

AVZ explained all this in the May 4th announcement. Crystal clear, negotiations underway on terms for the 5 year PR extension.
Until we get updated by asx announcement, believe what they print. If they lie, they are in the shit.

He claimed that it is 19-B-00935 but the file number on the document is 16-8-12284

This new twitter account by Der Geist is still spouting the same rubbish as the original account.

This is the same screenshot as he previously posted with the wrong file number quoted. He claimed that it was CD/LSH/RCCM/19-B-00935 but the file number on the document was actually CD/KIN/RCCM/16-8-12284. Screenshot:

Could someone with a Twitter account call him/her (Li@lithiumanalytic) out on this falsehood please. Thank you.

Go AVZ!
While some things ( ML) may have ground to a halt while we wait for the "Fat Lady" to turn up to sing our praises, I see where other DRC Projects are powering ahead, as

SOSIDER will be reborn from its ashes nearly 22 years after the shutdown of its machines

View attachment 7384

Stopped for nearly 22 years, the machines of the Maluku Iron and Steel Company will be running again, as part of the expansion of the Maluku Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

The President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, informed the Council of Ministers at its 54th meeting that following the mission conducted from April 25 to 28, 2022 in Gabon and Benin by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of environment and sustainable development, Eve Bazaiba Masudi, an investor expressed the wish to work with the government of the republic, for the revival of the activities of the SOSIDER, company which aspired, at its creation, the production of steel in the upper segment of industries in the steel sector, as part of the operationalization of the Maluku Special Economic Zone.

The President of the Republic said he encouraged this initiative, insofar as the revival of SOSIDER constitutes a winning bet for the government in its strategy of reindustrialising its economy.

To do this, the ministers of the portfolio, Adèle Kahinda; finance, Nicolas Kazadi; of Industry, Julien Paluku under the coordination of the Prime Minister, in collaboration with the Office of the Head of State, were instructed to begin negotiations with the interested partner in order to concretize the SOSIDER revival project.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Environment and Sustainable Development was responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental standards.

As a reminder, the Maluku steel company (SOSIDER) is a portfolio company of which the State is the sole shareholder. Its facilities are in Maluku, Kinshasa. She is looking for funding for her revival.

In April 2022, this company was visited by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Environment and Sustainable Development, Eve Bazaiba Masudi, who was made aware of the problems that undermine this state company.

This is the stoppage of production for several years, the spoliation of its land by third parties and the non-payment of wages for 210 months.

Julien Paluku welcomes the construction work of the economic zone of Maluku

The Minister of Industry, Julien Paluku carried out on Saturday May 21 an inspection visit of the construction works of the pilot Special Economic Zone of Maluku.

It is precisely about tracing and drilling carried out by the Chinese company CERAMIC, specialized in the production of building materials including tiles.

During this inspection visit, the companies Vurun Beverage / Pespi and Unique Pharma also presented to Minister Julien Paluku their respective plans to begin with the installation works of their factories.

The Minister of Industry says he is satisfied to see that fourteen days after the signing of the contract for the occupation of the plots, the company has started the work.

Within 45 days, he estimated, the CERAMIC company will complete the earthworks for the foundation work to begin, for the DRC to start producing "one year after today's date" its own materials. of construction by the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023.

This would help reduce the price of building materials by almost 40%.

Before leaving the site, the minister spoke with the first group of Congolese already recruited.

Julien Paluku recommended that they respect the rules and ethics because 2,000 direct jobs will be created with CERAMIC alone, he specified.

*Hey Sam, In light of articles like this, It gives me hope that the DRC / Felix will do the right thing by AVZ SH's and everything will be Ok (y)

The Chinese are being hounded, abducted and chased out of Congo

Chinese President Xi Jinping had a special dream- colonising the African Continent.

This is why many of Xi Jinping’s flagship Belt and Road Initiative projects have been rolled out in Africa.

However, Jinping’s African dreams are being brought to a grinding halt by the
Democratic Republic of Congo.

Chinese investments in the DRC are in significant danger.

The Congolese President is an anti-China hawk and is pushing for a review of Chinese mining operations in his country.

The Congolese locals too are pushing back against exploitative Chinese investments and are literally hounding, abducting and chasing away the Chinese.

Meanwhile, the growing anti-China sentiment in the DRC is also forcing the government to take more coercive measures like suspending operations of some Chinese companies.

Why DRC is important?

Make no mistake, the Democratic Republic of Congo holds an extremely crucial position in Africa.

It is the largest country in sub-Saharan Africa and the second largest in all of Africa.

Jinping cannot realise his dream of ruling the African Continent unless he can control the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In terms of minerals and resources, Congo is indispensable for China or any other superpower.

The sub-Saharan African country supplies over 60 per cent of the world’s reserves of cobalt ore.

Cobalt is an extremely important mineral used in electric vehicle (EV) batteries and the portable consumer electronics industry.

For a country like China that wants to assume leadership in the EV industry, access to cobalt reserves in the DRC is absolutely necessary.

* ( Not to mention Manono's Lithium ) o_O :mad: :rolleyes:

In fact, China is the biggest importer of cobalt and buys about 95,000 tonnes of the strategically crucial metal every year.

Several Chinese companies like Huayou Cobalt, Chengtun Mining, Wanbao and CNMC presently operate in Congo.

Why is China facing trouble in DRC?

Reports of Chinese interests facing trouble in the Democratic Republic of Congo surfaced last month.

Clashes erupted in a gold-mining region of the African country’s Northeastern part after three Chinese nationals reportedly went missing.

Military spokesman Jules Ngongo said that the three Chinese men working along with many others for a Chinese mining company may have been abducted by militiamen of an armed group called Codeco.

Codeco is short for the Cooperative for the Development of the Congo.

It is one of the dozens of armed groups active in the region and claims to defend the Lendu ethnic group.

Codeco may be an armed group, but its actions of allegedly kidnapping Chinese nationals reflects how anti-China sentiment is building up in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Congolese locals are getting seriously apprehensive of embezzlement of Congolese natural resources by Chinese mining companies.

Operations of six Chinese mining companies closed

Local authorities in the DRC have reportedly closed six mining companies in South Kivu.

The explanation behind the sudden decision is to ease tensions between Congolese locals and Chinese gold miners.

The decision to suspend operations of six mining companies was taken by Governor Theo Ngwabidje Kasi for the territory of Mwenga.

AFP quoted Christian Wanduma, a lawyer advising a local affected community as saying, “Minerals are being exploited without respecting the mining code and regulations.”

Wanduma called the decision to suspend mining operations a “salutary” one.

However, Congolese locals want more action from their government against the Chinese corporate interests.

The activist lawyer said that there must be some other measures for ensuring that the community whose “mineral resources have been plundered” can “regain its rights.”

Wanduma explained that mining operations by some companies have resulted in agricultural land being razed and depleted.

He added that now “even peanuts” cannot be grown there.

China is worried

AFP reported that Governor Kasi’s decree issued on Friday stated that the decision to suspend mining operations of six Chinese companies was “necessary to restore order to semi-industrial mining” to preserve “the interests of the local population, the environment and respect for human rights”.

Meanwhile, Wu Peng, Director-General, Department of African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, China stated, “We noticed that the #DRC governor’s order to suspend the operations of six Chinese mining companies in South Kivu province for the violation of local environment standards.

We always respect their right to take measures to maintain normal economic activities.”

Peng added, “The case is under investigation by us, too.

Once confirmed, I will push Chinese related authorities to impose punishment in accordance with the law.

We will not just suspend the companies’ operations, but ask them to stop the relevant business in South Kivu province.”

China is purportedly mulling strict actions against the Chinese companies to save its own face.

This is a part of Beijing’s attempts to repair its damaged image in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

However, this is unlikely to impress upon the Congolese government or locals.

Congo reviewing $6 dollar mining deal with China

In May, DRC President Felix Tshisekedi had said that some mining contracts could be reviewed because of concerns that they were not sufficiently benefitting his country.

Now, DRC Finance Minister Nicolas Kazadi has told Reuters that the Congolese government is reviewing its $6 billion “infrastructure-for-minerals” with Chinese investors as a part of its bigger plans to review mining contracts.

In an interview, Kazadi also said that a 2007 deal struck with Chinese state-owned firms Sinohydro Corp and China Railway Group Limited was also being reviewed by the DRC government.

The DRC government wants to find out if the 2007 deal was “fair” and “effective”.

Kazadi said, “We saw that there were some governance issues in the past.”

The Congolese Finance Minister added, “We needed more clarity on the contract, the kind of finance that is behind (the) investment.”

So, China is being literally kicked out of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Congolese locals, armed groups and government are joining hands to push Chinese interests and companies out of the African country.

This is the point that has been making me think Zijin don't believe they have a leg to stand on. Why would they initiate a meeting with anyone if they actually believed they had a leg to stand on. They would just move on to their next shonky deal like a good real estate agent, no emotion involved just business. They wouldn't suggest arbitration because they feel sorry for AVZ. Zijin have more than likely moved on from this deal. Franck is a champion!
