How did Ms. Kayinda ignore this note from the Ministry of Mines? I am scandalized by her act, she had all the data in her possession to block this transfer of assets!

Mrs. Kayinda is among those bad Congolese and Katangese who are destroying Katanga to undermine the image of President Tshisekedi in Katanga. What is it doing to raise the public mining companies that are in Katanga: Cominiere, Sodimico, Kisenge Manganese as guardianship

I imagine they still think there's a reasonable chance of pressuring the government to strip our licence through various underhand strategies, which they can then swoop in themselves with enough promises of infrastructure, brown bags, and greater ownership weighting for DRC. Until that chance is gone I can't see them spending 4b$ on something they may be able to get a hold of anyway
Agree . Zijin have always wanted control . The 15% is just Bull Sh1t side story / distraction . How serious is the MoM about getting this sorted ASAP is my question . Already over 2 months since it was a "matter of urgency ." If it gets too prickly will she drag it out ? Use the Chinese play book ?

The MoM was hoping Nigel would fold after her raise. Instead he has gone all in. The MoM can't afford to see the river imo

River poker

The river is the last of the community cards dealt in a game, both in poker tournaments and cash games. It's also known as fifth street, as it's the fifth and final of the five community cards. Most importantly, the river often makes or breaks a hand and decides the outcome of a showdown.

They could just make us an offer ($4billion + USD ) . End of story . My question is , when does this become a time / money issue for AVZ ? We have a very limited supply of both .
Not for me.

Yanks and other westerners want this bad.

If we've got ML etc, etc then they'll be sniffing big style. Would be amazed if they're not already.

So then it's $10, but yeah US$10

Doubt the DRC even has 20 billion, they could have that and more though.. if they pulled their fucking heads out of their asses and did the right thing by their people and AVZ

Unfortunately can't walk away.
I've consistently said we should be trading since I started posting here. But this situation is a good reminder never to invest / bet more than you can afford to lose.

My initial capital exposure here is a touch over 15k. Won't change my life in the slightest if I don't get it back. However if Nigel wins the hand I'll probably never have to work again.

Mate you were always of the belief Roche Dure was in the bag and the dispute over the North was the hold up . What's your take on things now ?

I don't think I ever said RD was in the bag. It was only in the bag if we allowed Zijin in Dathcom or gave up the north. The hold up on RD was always Mupande and the surface rights games that the partition allowed him to play.

My take now is that Cominiere have signed the offer from Zijin and the MoM is trying to bully AVZ into accepting one of the outcomes by forcing us to negotiate with them. Nigel's response has been to call bullshit in his letter and work with the NGO's and officials in Manono to show that Cominiere are absolute fucking morons.

If we don't play her games then the MoM will be forced to issue us the PE for all of 13359 or take it all off us. The DRC won't risk pissing off the gringos and this becoming a case study in why not to invest there while they are currently begging for western investors imo

There is also the possibility of compromise.
Zijin pay appropriate value for the 15% .
MOM and MOP continue with their positions and Felix continues to focus on his re election .
Dathcom remain 51% majority owner of all of the tenement and
24% to CATH.
No need for ICC if the above agreed ???

I'd say we are holding our ground. We have done everything by the book and have the receipts to prove it. Meanwhile our detractors are named in the IGF report as having conspired to sell a state asset below market value. We are the victims of our own success in the drilling results and the vision of Felix's business climate will be seen as a joke by the international community if they rat fuck us over a 'dispute' that should have been sorted out within the DRC months ago.

There could still be a compromise of some sort. Everyone will be looking to save face here. No doubt the Chinese are putting significant pressure on the DRC government to get them something out of this shitshow. But any negotiations are best done from the strongest possible position. And we have the best hand on the table as it stands and don't have any reason to publicly give ground to any of Cominiere's nonsense. Negotiations behind closed doors may be different.

It's possible

Although I think you mean AVZ would be 51% owner of Dathcom which would own all of the tenement

I think this exact offer is on the table from Cominiere right now but we aren't taking it
