Will GenAI kill the analog SNN?

Just revisited the Roadmap video.

At 22:30 in his roadmap video Jonathan Tapson mentioned in an aside that BRN has some pending patents for reducing data movement from memory.

https://brainchip.com/brainchip-technology-roadmap/

Analog SNNs greatest advantage is in-memory compute, ie, the MAC calculation hardware includes the memory transistor cells (ReRAM/MemRistors/etc.).

Tapson mentions that most of the energy is used in moving the data around. GenAI now includes an arrangement (some more secret sauce until the patent docs are published) which either reduces or eliminates this advantage. Given analog's various frailties, this will make Akida 3/GenAI even more attractive compared with analog alternatives.

Some competitors, such as Qualcomm have opted for a hybrid analog/digital arrangement, so if they have put all their eggs in that basket, there's room for others to trump their tech by adopting Akida 3/GenAI.

I think another major takeaway from the roadmap is the adoption of INT16 and FP32. As Tapson explains, this means that any available model is now a "drop-in" match for the coming Akida architectures. [Aside: my guess is that analog would struggle with anything greater than 4 bits].

Instruction-based architecture is yet another major advance. This increases the versatility of future Akida processors.

GenAI is already in FPGA. Sean has commanded the production of a silicon version within a year.

Anyone heard from Trevor?
On Friday I sent him an email saying welcome and congrats etc and asking if he could look into providing a copy of the recent AGM.
Just got an acknowledgement response and assume a reply will be forthcoming.

I’ll call it a nice midweek green… it soothes the soul, even if it’s just a snapshot. I’ll lean back and enjoy the color for a while… ahhhhhh, what a sight 💆🏻‍♂️

No "news" of note and yet easily the highest volume day this month? (excluding the near equally high near the start).
Maybe, something to do with pent demand, due to the Public Holiday?

Or, has "someone" sniffed some news?..

Hey @7, we "are" the speculators! 😛
But yeah I know what you meant..
And yes, any "real news" will easily take this a bit beyond 40 cents and more, depending on how much substance it really has..

Ah yes… it all sounds so nice… but once again, we’re just watching from the sidelines… aren’t we? No one really knows anything for sure.

“During FaceTime calls, translated live subtitles are displayed, and for phone calls, the translation is even spoken out loud. The other person doesn’t even need to be using an iPhone. According to Apple, these features run entirely on the device and not in the cloud, in order to protect user privacy. Samsung introduced a similar feature with its Galaxy S24 early last year.”

Unfortunately it’s gernan language.. so maybe you translate it via your browser

It even has a training package for users.
I have no idea how to use these things, but very nice surprise! Can't believe there was no asx announcement 🤨

Happy with the purchase. Highly recommend JB Hi-fi Parramatta. Very helpful staff that knows there stuff!

Needs a catalyst for that, it's not going to just "happen" because it looks pretty as a pattern on the chart.

But a catalyst is well and truly overdue.

I say Big News this week, or maybe next.
Or possibly the one after that 🤔...

Hmmm... pretty lines on charts are the ONLY reason things "happen" where I'm from

Guess I need to start learning more about these things you guys call... what's the word??

Oh yeah, "fundamentals". Have to look that one up

This kind of thing can actually happen with stocks that have dropped without real reason but are still generating revenue ….they become oversold and then recover. But I don’t see that happening in our case, since we have no income and it’s quieter here than in the Sahara! Even there, the dunes shift once in a while!

For a rebound to happen, we’d need some kind of announcement that really grabs the market’s attention…or at least convinces investors and potential buyers enough to start buying.

If it were to suddenly shoot up out of nowhere, I’d be skeptical.

But you know what??? F…it! YEAH!!!!

No no no, don't look up "fundamentals" especially ours..

Actually I think it's just one of those "made up" 🙄 words, meaning "a good time can be had, if you let loose and be a little crazy sometimes".

I revisited your original post and did some research and you're right 👍 Yeah baby!

"The ascending triangle is generally definitely a bullish chart pattern. It indicates that bulls are regaining have the upper hand and are pushing the price higher. They will aim get for a breakout to the topside as the wedge narrows down. The ascending triangle is considered to be a continuation pattern to much higher levels"

I have edited and bolded for clarity, can't find the original source, sorry @CHIPS...

This is exactly the sort of selective reasoning I live my life by!

In all seriousness though, I don't think we need some crazy announcement to move a little from here - the green beer goggles are usually enough. I'd bet a cheeseburger with extra pickles that we are over $0.27 by Friday.
