AVZ Discussion 2022

There’s a lot of confusion floating around, so let’s be clear: there will be no re-listing. AVZ is headed toward a final resolution — not a return to trading.

And there absolutely should not be a dividend, franked or otherwise. That would treat the payout as income, not capital, and shareholders would get hammered at their marginal tax rates.

What needs to happen is either:
• a share buyback, or
• a formal liquidation with a capital distribution.

Both of these would trigger a CGT event, allowing eligible long-term holders to access the CGT discount. That’s the correct structure — anything else risks handing a large chunk of the return straight to the Australian government who frankly have done fuck all to support us.
Likely a buyback will be out of the question... the company will still have retained profits that need clearing via dividends if they sell the project. A buy back won't enable big cgt discount amounts and not ordinary income... yes it can at times, but, practically won't be the case here.

Cgt discount will likely only be available on some company paying us cash for our avz shares or script for script...(the sell those shares eventually).

Anything above $226m will be dividends most likely... (under a buy back scenario)

Hopefully they will try to structure it that way then. Is there any reason you think they won't or can't?

Definitely reasons it might not happen, but, logical reasons why it could happen also...

Complete speculation atm but...

Yeah, nah. That AI-generated response only applies to structured, off-market buybacks during normal operations. We won’t be operating under those circumstances. Our buyback is part of a company wind-up, so CGT will absolutely apply—we’re talking about a return of capital, not a dividend. Different rules entirely. Essentially, winding up -> CGT applies. Ongoing operations -> part dividend (taxable), part capital (CGT).

It's highly possible a buy back is on the cards.

The capital distribution is already underway IMO.

Re-listing is 100% looking likely and the Kobold scrip offer is certainly emerging

Without that the Zijin/CCP counter offer won't happen and the Saudis are more likely to provide the best option

If none of that comes to light then definitely the US backed push from Trump with the peace deal in the mix should prevail

Other than that I suggest there's a bunch of fucked up flogs/trolls on the forum who will probably start to experience some genuine cyber heat from the appropriate authorities

Worth being aware of that......the sites been compromised

But what would I know?

See how long this post lasts

How it's taken down is noted....as all the others have been
Do you mean a sale of our shares to kobold wine? Rather than avz receiving the cash then doing a buy back?

I personally believe the former is more likely and more likely successful for cgt discount capabilities.

There is only $226m of capital. The rest will be retained profits...

Anyway, not worth me going on with it any more.

Cheers

Why do they care so much about what we talk about? Does it change anything?

Bitter losers or hoping to provoke a response that they can use.

Given my limited experience I sure hope you’re right. Whatever the structure accessing our CGT discount is paramount.

Lol completly missed that, with those numbers i will be able to buy a bigger boat.

Was trying to be really conservative with my numbers and show even with lower numbers how much its worth.
It's hard to calculate "fair value" when its the biggest in the world.
Also probably not the best thing to be comparing it to however it was recent

Kobolt better have deep pockets

p.s. If anyone thinks 0.63c is fair value im more than happy to take you up on that offer

CAN JUST ONE OF YOU CUNTS JUST INTRODUCE YOURSELVES PROPERLY INSTEAD OF CARRYING ON LIKE YOU'VE BEEN HERE FOR 5 YEARS!!!

TUESDAYS A GOOD DAY FOR DRINKING....PRICKS!!!

I don't think Zeeb0t is listening at all, and hasn't for ages. He's a one man band spread too thin across too many startups.
Sitting pretty while the membership subs come in for some chump change while he chases other rainbows.
I've cancelled my $5/month.
Happy to stay and wait out the cretins, but not paying for a service that isn't moderated or administered properly.
