#RDC_MINES | Beijing, October 25 and 26, 2025 At the invitation of Zijin Mining Group, the world's third largest mining company, His Excellency @LouisWKabamba, Minister of Mines, conducted a field visit in China on October 25 and 26, accompanied by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cominière, members of his cabinet, and the diplomatic representation of the DRC in China.

This mission is part of strengthening mining cooperation between the Democratic Republic of Congo and its strategic partners. Zijin Mining, valued at over 100 billion USD on the stock market, has recognized expertise in the production and processing of several metals, including copper, gold, and rare earth metals.

Already present in the DRC through the Kamoa-Kakula, COMUS, and Manono projects (in partnership with Cominière), Zijin confirmed to the Minister its commitment to continue investments in transportation infrastructure, ports, and local processing of resources on Congolese soil. The Minister of Mines commended this commitment, which aligns with the vision of His Excellency President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, implemented under the leadership of Madame Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka, in favor of local processing and sustainable development of the mining sector.

As a reminder, the collaboration between Zijin Mining and Cominière through Katamba Mining enabled the recommissioning of the Mpiana-Mwanga hydroelectric power plant, already operational thanks to an investment of over 80 million USD. The partners have announced their intention to increase its capacity to 108 MW, a key asset for the energy stability of the national mining sector. #CellComMINES
