The FTSE 100 and European stocks have lost ground at the open as mounting energy and inflation troubles fuel fears of a recession.
The FTSE 100 (^FTSE) slipped 0.2% to 7,475 at the opening, while the CAC (^FCHI) in Paris fell 0.19% to 6,350 points. In Germany, the DAX (^GDAXI) lost 0.10% to 13,181.
