Not many people know that the picanha (rump cap) is a popular cut in Brazil

I have a mate who is Brazilian who introduced me to it

Have you got links to Brazil or Portugal there Retro?

Just wondering

Cheers!

No links, but I have been to a few Brazilian restaurants so have got to learn the cuts. Braza here in Sydney with it's "all you can eat" menu is fab. During the first lockdown in 2020 I ordered some of their meats and marinades delivered to home so I could experiment with Brazilian style cooking on the bbq, and I landed on picanha as the pick of the cuts. And then discovered a local butcher close to us sells the rump cap (picanha) cut, which is handy. It's my go to on the bbq now for meat loving friends and family. That, and the lamb kofte mix that the local Lebanese butcher sells in 1kg bags.

Tip of the day.....(not stocks or horses:rolleyes:)

I hand sharpened my hedge trimmers (all you need is a bastard file, a whetstone and about 20 mins) and then just tightened up the nuts and screws and general action

General clean up, a spray of WD40, a wipe down then a bit of chainsaw oil

The results are amazing!!!!!

Cut through everything like butter

What would have taken about 3 hours in the back yard took about 40 mins tops and was "effortless"

Mrs Nut is also very pleased with the results which get's me brownie points :ROFLMAO:

Cheers

Hey Wino, we went to a local wine tasting recently that's organised a couple of times a year by our local boutique. Anyway my wife caught covid but we did grab a couple of mixed dozens after tasting what was on offer. This time only a selection of Shiraz, cab sauv and cab Shiraz blends as well as a few bolder odds and ends. (120 odd wines)
I tried that many that I was plastered by the end but we selected according to our notes.
Slowly working our way through it and most have been good but the below 👌👌👌

They also make one called Romulus which is just as good.
Keep you posted if there are any more stand outs.

Next up in a couple of months the same guy is organising Pinot and a selection of white tasting. Love a good pinot if it's got the funk such as some from the Geelong and bellarine region in Vic. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. 👍

100% on the funk in a Pinot....love a bit of barnyard!

I do also like the more cherry, strawberry leaning version depending on what food I'm having

I'll check out that Sons of Eden Shiraz, haven't had it before

Quite like the Eden Valley.......just a bit higher and cooler than it's Barossa Valley neighbour

Sounds like the tasting was a lot of fun, hope you had a designated driver! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Cheers

Yes my niece took us all home spinning out all the way, lucky it is very local.

If we get out of this suspension in one piece I'm tempted to drive the ute up to Eden Valley and come back fully loaded. A month off drinking fine wines sounding pretty good.
If you've got any recommendations for a good barnyard pinot I'm all ears.
This one is our go-to drop at a reasonable price:
Most of their wines I've tried have been pretty good really.

I'll put the thinking cap on for a Pinot
